this memory starts off violent, but i promise it’s soft.

when i was 8 i started getting abused by my step mom, physically. i would walk into school bruised and sad. i spent days alone and in fear of when she would come home.

when i was 13, i ran away. no shoes on, in 40 degree weather (which was unusual for texas). i ended up 15 miles away in the dark, cops and family and family friends searching for me for hours but never finding me. i was in a ditch shivering, and my first thought was to call my older cousin.

His name is Zach, just about 6 years older than me, and i called him with my phone on 2 percent, crying, and begged him to pick me up. my exact words were “please save me”.

he got to me, and when i got into his car, he hugged me, tight, and the only thing he said to me was “i’m glad you’re okay”.

i’ll never forget that, he’s never hugged me like that before, but in that moment i knew i was loved, and that i had something to live for.

had a fucking hilarious dream that tumblr replaced the "block" function with the far funnier "glock" function, which did the exact same thing except whenever anyone blocked you a random bullet hole, like a png of a bullet hole, would appear on your blog. discourse blogs were unreadable bc you'd go to the page and the sheer amount of bullet hole pngs stacked over the blogs obscured everything. I woke myself up laughing

i was talking to my father about how they technically reintroduced wolves into Yellowstone after scientist figured out theyre like a KEY SPECIES in the ecosystem, and at first he was like “hell no” but i told him the whole thing about how the way wolves hunt effects population of deer, which effects population of trees, which effects the beaver population (btw, beavers are like a crucial part of that ecosystem which is really cool!)  and so on and so forth. so yeah, some may not believe science but this guy is literally helping to save habitats from ecological destruction. give him a round of applause.
