Hello! I don't really know how to answer that, but I’ll do my best.

I like my digital space & community to be a safe & friendly place for all ages, genders, sexualities etc. I try to tag things accordingly so people can avoid spoilers for a show or unwanted words as long as people have them muted/blocked. I don’t tolerate racism, bigotry or general hateful language. I generally care about internet safety, especially for kids, teens and young adults.

Hi!! I saw that your art is tagged #aau and I was thinking of applying to that school for visual development. Do you have any thoughts on what to expect as a student there??

Hey! I graduated AAU about 5ish years ago now lol. I learned a lot of great things there, had some great teachers, and made some great life long friends. Anything you learn from anyone, take it with a grain of salt. Focus on what you want and not what others expect or think you should want. Learn about career options during and beyond school. Learn about the pros & cons of your major, industry and niche/focus. Networking is about making friends and genuine connections. Live your life outside of school and work, do fun stuff with friends, have a good time. SF is a rad city, explore it, photograph it, paint it, etc.

Ok real talk: Art school is hard, I'm not going to sugar coat it. It can be very challenging creatively and emotionally. I grew so much as an artist and a person, but it was very rough at times. Basically the general growing pains of being an young adult + being an artist. Be proactive about your career goals and the skills relating to it, what you want to learn, the classes & teachers you want and finding work after school. Most jobs care more about skill than education/school choice. It's also stupid expensive and the Bay Area is expensive. There are so many good resources for learning outside of school/formal education that are more affordable or free, and can be used in addition to or instead of school. I'm not discouraging you from going, I don't want your parents/guardians mad at me haha, I just think practical options are important.

Also keep in mind the general state of the world, and what's happening with the education system. I have no idea what it's like entering school today.

Hello! Thank you so much! I usually tend to use basic default brushes primarily. Like a basic round brush for drawing and erasing. If its not that I'll use brushes that look similar to traditional media like pencils or gouache, something with a bit of texture. Basically I like to keep it simple. Hope that helps!
