And that was why Grant was always prepared. Always ready for the ultimate situation. It was preparedness and necessary aversion, which was always the proven formula to stay not just prepared, but ready for what may happen.
Knowing and being prepared were two dramatically different understandings entirely. Just because one knew to expect didn't mean they were prepared whatsoever.
Grant was both, but there was doubt that his preparedness specifically counted for all contingencies. He could have been wrong. He'd been so before and he highly disliked the matter altogether.
"Both a warning and deadline." An impossible one, but one that he would handle as he always did - on his own terms. "When the questions start, it would be best if you did all the talking," he says.
"You have their trust and your words would be held higher than mine."
