I’ve been investigating studio rental prices in Dublin, with an eye to reading the revised Young Wizards novels and making them available as audiobooks internationally. So look for info on these starting in (at a guess) 2025. YW: Lifeboats would be recorded when the first ten are in the can and starting to be released.

I just found out about the existence of orchid bees! What can you tell me about them?
sure! orchid bees are weird tiny shiny solitary bees that spend their time pretty much like all solitary bees do, hunting for nectar and trying not to get eaten by birds.
but when a female orchid bee is selecting from her bouquet of suiters, she really only has one thing in mind- his smell!
the smelliest males are the most attractive to her, for god only knows what secret bee reason, so accordingly the male bees spend pretty much all their time finding things with strong smells and then. rolling in them.
this does include pleasant things like flowers, yes, but also some weirder stuff like fungi and tree sap. if they made an Eu De Bee it would probably smell pretty pungent to us!
not that they shouldn't do that. I am in favor of Eu De Bee
so a male bee healthy enough to range far and wide dunking his stubby little shiny butt in whatever smells interesting is what carries the day, for the females! she will mate with him and lay some eggs about it.
also they sleep suspended with their jaws clamped onto random shit, like this

"what if" but some writers literally DO? like not all writers act like this; not all readers do either. but for each of these behaviors there's some people who do it. what do you mean "what if"
What if all fanfiction writers had the same attitudes that so many readers do? What if we treated our stories like content?
Readers: I won’t read WIPs, only completed work and LONG fics.
Writers: I will only post finished works once a year, you will never see 90% of my ideas and have no part of the creative process.
Readers: I will only read works that have tons of views/kudos/bookmarks.
Writers: I won’t update unless I have interest in my story. I’ll post a new chapter for every 100 kudos, 10 comments, and 5 bookmarks.
Readers: I can do whatever I want with fanfics, sell bound copies and criticise them publicly.
Writers: I will delete my fics without warning and never share more.
This is how you end fandom culture. This is how you lose AO3 and access to so many incredible stories for FREE.
