Was browsing your blog because your art is gorgeous (it has such a lovely warmth and glow in terms of colour but also in terms of emotion!) but I also noticed you seem to get quite a few asks whete people kind of expect you to draw what they want with little gratitude, and I just wanted to say that you're not an art-making factory, you're worth more than that and deserve thanks and appreciation for sharing your work ❤️ so thank you ❤️

I would be lying if I didn't say that a very very small minority can come across as a little bit demanding, but when I feel a bit frustrated I try to reframe that sentiment as people being super passionate about their ships or media(?), and it's an honour to be asked. I'm also conscious of how I interface with fandom, I don't tend to comment or engage much just because my life and time don't allow for it, so I think the only thing people ever associate me with is my art (I see some folks I follow getting asks about their opinions on x, or their favourite colour, or whatever), and so I think it's pretty natural for people to only ask about doing xyz ship rather than my personal life or opinions. Again, totally fine. Rest assured I never answer or feel pushed to do art if I don't want to!

Sometimes it's fun to see what other people are interested in! I kinda purposefully isolate myself away from fandom/lots of internet consumption, so sometimes I have no idea what's going on until someone flags it for me! :) Both Priory and Gideon were things I hadn't heard of and they ended up being a good break from my normal stuff!

“Hey, space cadet,” Nia says, setting a mug of coffee on Kara’s desk and startling her out of her latest string of mental images. “What’s got you so distracted? I would have thought you’d be thriving.”

Kara grabs the coffee, taking an overly large swallow. The caffeine might not affect her, but the sweet taste of 4 sugars and far too many creams is nice nonetheless.

“Thriving?”

“Because Lena hasn’t been here in days?”

Lena’s name being spoken out loud makes Kara’s stomach do a funny sort of twirl.

“Why would I be happy about that? I mean, more than anyone else,” Kara says, shrugging in a way she hopes is very casual. “I have totally normal feelings about her. No feelings, actually. None at all.”

Nia’s brow raises.

“Okay. Last week you swore she was riding you extra hard,” Nia says.

Kara chokes on her coffee.

Firstly your work is amazing and incredible.

Secondly it has something that ai can never replicate, it has heart. It has emotion. Seeing your artwork it is clear the amount of care you put into creating something so beautiful and ai can never take that away from you.

(also I haven't seen any pictures where you forgot how many limbs a human has so I think your safe)

thank you! as I said in my original post the process will always be what I prize over the output, my line of creative thinking (I would imagine) operates completely outside of the AI paradigm, where output is prized over the experience. I like making art and it is a privilege to do so, with an emphasis on the making part :)
