I wasn’t originally planning to pull for Vil’s card, but after learning that he duos with Jade and has the exact same elements as Jade’s birthday boy card as well as Floyd’s beans day card (which, of course, duos with Vil), I literally had to get it. And apparently he agreed, because he came home in the very first ten pull!

I was really hoping he would finally have someone to talk to about his mushrooms! I mean, maybe the tsum crushed them on accident out of excitement? But even so, the end result is still just a pile of ruined mushrooms and all Jade’s hard work gone to waste 😔
I guess he didn’t seem too upset, though. I was surprised he seemed to drop the matter entirely after Leona showed up, but maybe he’s just planning to get back at the tsum later

This is only the second SSR of Azul that I’ve pulled for, but so far he’s making a habit of being surprisingly nice to me, coming home in only 20 pulls!
I’ve only pulled for Jade and Floyd’s birthday cards before, but the broomquet series is by far my favorite, so I’m planning on getting quite a few of them!

Sweeter Than Whipped Cream
A tiny, 612 word Jade x Yuu fic inspired by Jade’s birthday jacket card.
I know it’s not even close to his birthday anymore, but I was staring at the groovy art recently— as one does— and happened to imagine this cute little scenario and thought I might as well put it into writing and share it with all of you!
Characters: Jade Leech, Yuu, Silver, Floyd Leech (mentioned only briefly as “the other birthday boy”), and a crowd of ambiguous party goers
Includes: established relationship, PDA, They/them pronouns for Yuu, and Yuu being shorter than Jade
“That’s it for the interview,” Silver said, folding the list of questions and slipping it into his pocket. “Next up is…”
Yuu adjusted their grip on the ghost camera as the Diasomnia student delicately picked up the paper plate piled high with whipped cream from the nearby table.
“The main event that wraps it all up— the ‘good-luck’ gift, correct?” The birthday boy said, remaining perfectly unfazed.
“Precisely. Are you ready, Jade?” Silver asked.
“Of course,” he replied with a smile. “I’ve been eagerly awaiting this moment. Please, don’t hold back in the slightest.”
A smile tugged at the corners of Yuu’s lips as well. They had gotten rather good at reading their boyfriend’s emotions in the time since they had started dating, and they could tell his words were genuine. Jade’s playful and fun-loving nature had been a big part of what made them fall in love with him, so they were equally excited to see this go down.
“Alright. I’ll fulfill my duty as interviewer with my full strength,” Silver said, with all the formality of a proper knight. He drew back his arm and took a breath in. Yuu raised the camera, finger poised over the shutter-button. “Happy birthday—,“ the pie was thrown, “Jade!!”
Yuu captured the moment impact— the birthday boy standing perfectly still and composed as the plate of whipped cream collided with his face, cream flying in all directions— and continued snapping photo’s of the aftermath. Cheers rose up from the crowd of party goers, the other birthday boy being the loudest among them.
Jade caught the plate as it fell, leaving a mess behind on his face and the front of his nice, new jacket. A wide smile broke through his gentlemanly façade, which only crumbled further as he began to giggle, lifting the back of his free hand to his mouth in a poor attempt to hide.
Yuu’s heart fluttered in their chest as they captured that perfect shot. Then they lowered the camera and sighed lovingly. Even someone as shameless as their boyfriend could still be the tiniest bit embarrassed at being the center of attention, and it was yet another thing they adored about him.
“Here’s a towel to wipe off your face,” Silver said, stepping up to Jade and offering said towel.
The birthday boy chuckled, setting the plate on the nearby table. “One moment, Silver,” he said, then turned to face his partner. “Yuu.”
“Hm?”
A mischievous glint shone in his dual colored eyes and he smiled while leaning down closer. “Would you still be willing to kiss me even in this state?” He asked, equal parts teasing and hopeful.
The corners of the prefect’s smile twisted in amusement, even as their cheeks flushed. “Oh, come here!” they said, lifting their hands to pull their boyfriend’s face closer.
Their lips met for only a brief second and another cheer rang out from the crowd, this time with a couple wolf whistles mixed in.
Jade stood back upright, wearing his biggest grin yet, and Yuu giggled while wiping whipped cream off the tip of their nose.
The birthday boy finally accepted the towel from Silver, who was looking just a tad bit uncomfortable, and attempted to hold it out to his partner, but they shook their head.
“You need it more than I do.”
Jade smiled. “I figured you would say that, but I had to at least offer,” he said, finally beginning to clean himself up.
Yuu smiled as well. “I know,” they said, with warmth in their voice. Their boyfriend’s gentlemanly side was just was sweet as his playful one. And combined he was truly sweeter than whipped cream. <3

The new update gave me Floyd’s basketball groovy picture in the guest room despite me very much NOT having this card uncapped, lol
It’s only the groovy portrait of the card too, the original picture isn’t there, so???
I do have five extra levels on this card from friendship, but I also have five extra levels on Jack’s dorm card from friendship and none of its portraits were available to craft
Hopefully if this is some kind of bug and it gets fixed they’ll still let me keep the one I crafted!

I’ve been stuck on the last chapter of Troubled Water for two months now. I really, really want to start writing the second part of the story (the Scarabia rewrite) because I have so many ideas for it, but I feel like I can’t because I haven’t properly wrapped up the first part yet.
Do you guys think it would be alright if I just skipped that last chapter for now? I fully intend to write it eventually, but it’s not exactly the most important chapter, so I feel like it would be better to just skip it and move on to rewriting Scarabia instead of keeping you all waiting even more than I already have

Thinking about how the Gastronomy Club is just the Mountain Lovers Club with less activities
I mean, the Gastronomy Club’s activities are just… eating random ingredients to see what tastes good??? Including finding raw ingredients on the ground??? Out in nature??? That’s the Mountain Lovers Club, baby!!!
I don’t think Grim and MC attended a Mountain Lovers Club meeting while trying out the various clubs to see which one they should join, because they didn’t seem to know about it when they went to the various club stalls in book 5, but if they had I fully believe Jade could’ve convinced them to join. All he would’ve had to do is play up the making food part and Grim would’ve been sold.
Plus photography is an activity in the Mountain Lovers Club, which is something that’s already heavily associated with MC, so???
Basically, what I’m saying is Grim and MC should canonically be in the Mountain Lovers Club and the only reason they’re not is because the gag of Jade being the only person in his club while trying to convince everyone he’s not is genuinely really funny.
(And also because the writers probably don’t want to portray the MC as being too close to any one specific boy, of course. That’s probably the main reason).

Chapter 13 of the Jade x Yuu Book 3 rewrite fanfic is here!
*Banging pots and pans above my head* Overblot time!!! It took 13 chapters but we finally reached Azul’s overblot!!!
Chapter preview under the cut!
Outside of the main school building, the twins easily overtook the freshmen and ran ahead of them into the hall of mirrors and straight through to Octavinelle.
Immediately they were met with chaos.
“You there— give me your lightning magic! And you, give me your athletic ability!” Azul shouted, eyes wild and dorm uniform askew, aiming his silver, octopus cane at students who were scrambling to hide or escape.
An unfortunate Scarabia student screamed as he was hit by Azul’s unique magic, before collapsing onto the floor among others who’d met the same fate.
“Azul! What are you doing?!” Jade shouted, walking past Leona, Ruggie, and the suspicious pile of golden sand on the floor in front of them.
“Whoa… What happened here?!” Floyd asked, taking in the scene with a horrified expression.
“Jade! Floyd!” Their housewarden exclaimed, his shoulders visibly relaxing and relief washing over his face as he turned towards them. “Thank goodness, you’re finally back! Can you believe what these FOOLS have done to me?! I’ve lost all my contracts!” He breathed heavily, his head falling forward slightly so that the brim of his hat cast a shadow over his face, his icy blue gaze peering out from under it. “Which is why I’m going to need your powers now. Come on… give them to me!!”
Jade instinctively reached for his magical pen, but Floyd was quicker, managing to deflect Azul’s attack with his own unique magic. Behind them, the pack of freshmen finally stumbled in.
Yuu gasped. “Oh no…”
“Dude, this does not look good!” Ace said.
“Is Azul going out of control?!” Deuce asked.
“Looks like he’s sucking different students’ powers outta them by force,” Jack guessed, quickly grasping the situation.
“Leona! You were bullyin’ him, weren’t you?!” Grim accused.
“You’re blaming me?” The lion beastman huffed. “You’re the ones who told me to turn the contracts into sand.”
I see… so that’s what happened, Jade thought. No wonder Yuu was concerned about their plan.

Hi! I recently saw on twitter that in the latest jp Jade birthday card he mentions getting rid of his interests and hyperfixations entirely once he's done with them, and some were being mean on how this would affect us yume…I have been thinking about a scenario involving my Yuu and this but I'm kinda struggling, since I like your fanfic i was wondering… how would your Yuu handle that?
I’m a little confused about how you worded the question. How would Yuu handle… what? Jade getting bored of them and tossing them aside?
I guess the first thing I would say is that I don’t think love, genuine love, is comparable to a special interest or hyper-fixation. (Although I understand why some fans are quick to jump to that interpretation as it has some serious angst potential if that’s your thing). If Jade saw Yuu as a fleeting interest to amuse himself with and then throw away when he gets bored, then I would not at all consider that to be love.
A person that you love is someone that you share all of your special interests with. When one interest fades and you get sucked into a new one, you should get excited about sharing yet another new thing with the same person you shared the last one with, if that makes sense.
However… I am getting sad now thinking about Jade getting bored of mushrooms and throwing away all of his terrariums and stuff.
Anyway, I don’t know if I answered your question, but I just can’t see Jade getting bored of people he cares about the same way he might with other things.
