Always, always pay attention to language in the coverage of this genocide! Don’t let the bias and justification go unnoticed. They called for a ceasefire to exchange Palestinian “prisoners” for Israeli “hostages”. Israel’s right to defend itself, vs Hamas’ unprovoked acts of terror. Israelis are reported as killed, while Palestinians merely died.
BBC journalists are writing letters to their own network criticizing them for refusing to use humanizing language for Palestinians. Nothing is said on air without carefully crafted intention behind it.
I’ve seen even people who support Palestine repeating these little insidious words without even thinking about it, just from hearing it so often. Stop calling it a war between Israel and Hamas when it’s a concerted campaign by Israel to eradicate the Palestinian people. That’s not war, that’s Genocide.
I know y’all know this but please just pay extra attention so you don’t spew more of it yourselves or share articles with that language.
