“You’re extremely bias, but thanks for calling me cute. I’ll be like 10 minutes tops, is that okay?” She asked and hugged him, excited for whatever he had planned, she absolutely loved surprises. “Wait here. Be right back.” Ainsley bolted upstairs two at a time to get changed. When she came back down she was in a simple floral patterned dress. “Ready!” She beamed and slid down the banister, “When did you become such a romantic?” 

“I’ve always been romantic.” He tried to sound offended, but it was impossible to do, even jokingly, with how wide he was smiling after watching her. “Okay, let’s go.” He held out his hand for, leading her towards his car. “Surprise one is in there.” He told her, stopping and motioning to the passenger side car. It wasn’t a very good surprise, considering the balloons were visible through the windows, but he was proud that they were covering the chocolates. “I’m going to be honest, I spent about two weeks straight watching romantic comedies in order to properly plan today.” He confessed, kissing the side of her head. “And I waited until after Valentine’s Day for two reasons. One, you wouldn’t expect it. Two, because you deserve your own day that you don’t have to share with anyone else.”

Ainsley was not dressed for a surprise. She had been painting something she was working on for her little brother’s room and was wearing jean shorts and a Ravenwood hoodie. “You have a what for me?” She pecked her boyfriend on the lips, confused, and yet fighting back a smile as the notion of Laser doing something from her made her hopeful, “Okay. Can I change? Should I wear anything specific?” 

“You can change even though I think you look really pretty.” He told her with a smile, leaning forward again to kiss her cheek. “I can’t give you specifics, though.” He shrugged, smiling wider as he did.

“I have a surprise for you.” Laser stated as soon as Ainsley opened the door. “Also, hi.” He smiled, leaning forward to kiss her. “It took a long time to plan and it’s going to take all day. You have been warned.” @ghostbusteradam

“Valentine’s Day may be a silly holiday, but it’s got a pretty cool vibe. Glad it seems like most people agree. This is slightly less of a thunder dome scenario than I anticipated.”

“That argument doesn’t actually check out but I’m not all that interested in it since it’s not really the point I was trying to make.” He smiled back and happily kissed her,  the desire to actively want her to touch him as much as possible was still kind of strange, but he liked it. “No, that makes a whole lot of sense. I mean I still don’t want to do it but it makes sense. If I have to suffer though, it means you have to have the most fun here, deal?” 

“I think in this case, if you wanted to do it that would be a bigger problem. I will try to have the absolute most fun, just for you. I mean, I do have to watch you kiss Layla and...whoever Selah is, but I am determined for this to still be super fun.”

“You should be in charge of everything. I like the way you think…actually maybe you shouldn’t, I don’t like the way you think on everything like how you think cereal is a legitimate meal sometimes when it has next to no nutritional value, even all of the commercials say that it’s only part of a balanced breakfast.” Isaac huffed, “When we kiss it’s not meaningless. The opposite, kissing you means a lot to me. ” 

Carol Anne placed her hands on her hips as she argued, “fast food has no nutritional value either, but somehow that still counts as a meal”. She smiled, cupping his face as she pressed her lips to his lightly. “Kissing you means a lot to me, too. Which is why you kissing anyone else means nothing. Or, at least, I hope it means nothing.”

“I’m leaving the country after this bullshit.” Layla muttered to herself as she fiddled with her hands, eventually dropping them to her side with a huff. “You’re getting one, one kiss on the cheek. And I get a free punch wherever I choose once we’re done. Got it?”

“Are you like practicing what you’re going to say?” Carol Anne asked her best friend, trying as hard as she could not to laugh, knowing this was aggravating enough for her. “I’m sorry they’re making you suffer like this.”

Is this a joke? People can’t make me kiss people. First of all, I don’t know where one person’s mouth has been so gross. Second, I absolutely know where the other person’s mouth as been so more gross. Third, I have a girlfriend so do I get a free pass?

I’d give you a free pass if I could, but I’m not in charge. I’m sorry you’re being pressured to do this, but if it helps it’s just a kiss. Lips touch and then it’s done. It’s quick and meaningless, right?

“So?” Carol Anne asked, standing in front of Isaac, twisting her fingers in front of her. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt so nervous during a performance, but knowing her boyfriend was in the audience watching her brought on feelings of elation, but also the need to be absolutely perfect. Not that he would judge her if she wasn’t, but she wanted it to be perfect for him. “What did you think?” @lukaharcourt

Isaac never thought he’d be that guy, such a Marcus but there he was, wanting to grin ear to ear just because Carol Anne said she missed him a lot, he didn’t know he ever wanted to be missed by anyone other than his family and friends. He didn’t think he’d ever want to see a ballet, but he was eager to just so he could see Carol Anne in her element being brilliant and just…shining. “Busy and exhausting. So many people touching me and telling me what to do and Isaac look this way, Isaac look that way.” He shrugged, “It was okay though. I ate a lot of good food. Have you gotten sucked into all of this debutante ball madness?” He asked her as he slid his hand across the table to hold hers. 

“Well, I’m glad they at least let you eat. Last thing I need is for you to start eating cotton balls to keep your figure.” She pulled a displeased face that only lasted for a moment until his fingers touched hers. She clasped both hands onto his, relieved to finally have any physical contact she could with him and unwilling to let it go. It was probably silly, he’d only been gone a couple of weeks, but that was already way too long for her. “Honestly? I haven’t really had time to think about it all. It sounds really nice, but with the show I guess I kind of just missed most of the hype for it.”

“The good news is that I don’t have anything booked for the next month so you don’t have to miss me as much for at least that long. Good. I’ve been counting down to when I could see it. Marcus tried to send me a video but I didn’t watch it, I want the full experience. How is it for you? I want to hear all about it.” 

“Good, because I don’t want to miss you that much again anytime soon. That was rough.” She pushed out her bottom lip in a pout to emphasize how much. “Aw, that’s actually really sweet. You’ll be able to see it in the best seat in the house. It’s been so great. So exhausting, too, but I don’t mind that too much. It kept me busy while you were gone. How was the show and everything?”

“That occurred to me but I really didn’t want to do that, so thank you. And I’m glad he didn’t say anything mean to you.” He shrugged then smiled shyly, he hadn’t even opened his laptop back up yet, his attention on the beauty in front of him, “I missed you a lot. It’s not too late for me to see your show, right?” 

“You’re welcome. I was happy to do it. And I’m glad he didn’t either.” She laughed again, then bit her lip. She realized they were both just sitting there, smiling at each other, but it’d been so long since they’d been able to do that in person. “I missed you, too. So much. Of course it’s not, I have a ticket saved for you.”
