CUET 2024 dates out: Check syllabus, mock tests, eligibility and more at CUET MOCK
CUET 2024
A national entrance exam is the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). CUET offers equitable opportunities and a single platform to all applicants in India. This entrance test is given by the NTA to applicants for UG courses at all of India’s central universities as well as other participating universities. CUET UG is available in more than 300 locations across India in 13 mediums. The full exam is administered online. The subjects that a candidate chooses to study will dictate how long the CUET exam will be.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CUET 2024 from May 15 to May 31, 2024. The CUET 2024 application form is expected to be made available by the National Testing Agency (NTA) during the first week of February 2024. On the official CUET 2024 website, students can fill up the CUET UG application form 2024. The only way to apply for CUET 2024 is online. Students are required to complete the CUET 2024 application form by visiting the official website. Prospective candidates should confirm that they meet the eligibility conditions for CUET 2024 before submitting an application. For your information, the CUET MOCK website has all the information regarding the qualifying requirements.
Before completing the application, candidates who intend to take the CUET 2024 should review the eligibility requirements. The syllabus for the CUET 2024 should also be known to them. The CUET MOCK website has the syllabus, pattern, and preparation materials, including past year question papers and mock exams. The dates for CUET 2024 will be made public on the official NTA website. Students can access all of the most recent CUET 2024 notifications on CUET MOCK’s website.
For CUET 2024, no major changes to the exam format are anticipated. The CUET paper is split into three sections, and there will be three exam slots available, per the most recent pattern. Section I (language test, parts A and B), Section II (domain-specific subjects), and Section III (general test) are the three portions of the CUET UG. Political Chess Unfolds in Tamil Nadu as DMK-Congress, AIADMK, and BJP Engage in Lok Sabha Seat-Share Negotiations
In the lead-up to the April/May elections, Tamil Nadu witnesses a strategic game of political alliances as the state’s two prominent parties, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the opposition All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), initiate seat-sharing talks. The complex negotiations involve current and potential allies, setting the stage for a dynamic electoral landscape.
Tamil Nadu, boasting 39 Lok Sabha seats, has been a battleground for these political giants. In the 2019 elections, the DMK and smaller Tamil parties, aligned with the Congress, clinched 38 seats, with the remaining seat secured by the AIADMK in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other regional outfits. As the election season approaches, both sides intensify discussions to forge new alliances.
DMK leader MK Stalin is scheduled to meet with the party’s seat-sharing committee, headed by Sriperumbudur MP TR Baalu. Simultaneously, the AIADMK reaches out to K Krishnasamy’s Puthiya Tamizhagam, a potential ally in the upcoming polls.
The BJP, which severed ties with the AIADMK in September last year, seeks to strengthen its position in the state. The party courts the Puthiya Tamizhagam, among others, after forming an alliance with the Tamil Maanila Congress led by GK Vasan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party is actively engaging with regional players, including S Ramadoss’ Pattali Makkal Katchi.
The DMK, a key member of the INDIA bloc led by the Congress, has not finalized an alliance for the upcoming election. The Congress, which contested nine seats in the previous election and won eight, is yet to formalize its collaboration with the DMK or other alliance members like the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi.
The Secular Progressive Alliance, as part of the state-level grouping, includes the Communist Party of India (CPI) and CPIM, each allocated two seats by the DMK. The alliance also features the Indian Union Muslim League and the Kongu Desa Makkal Katchi, both securing one seat each in the previous election.
Amidst these negotiations, the AIADMK, having distanced itself from the BJP, explores potential alliances with regional players like the Puthiya Tamizhagam. The BJP’s attempts to reconnect with the AIADMK face resistance, and the AIADMK challenges the BJP by daring them to field Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the state.

Montefusco suffers from aquagenic urticaria, a rare form of hives that manifests as a rash upon exposure to water. With only 37 documented cases in medical literature, this condition is exceptionally uncommon, making Montefusco’s experience highly unique.
Montefusco explained that her itching can persist for up to an hour after any water exposure, making it challenging for her as a young woman. Describing the sensation as an itch deep beneath the skin’s surface, she shared her struggle to resist scratching, resorting to self-induced pain to divert her focus from the irritation.
The 22-year-old first noticed the condition at the age of 12, and it has progressively worsened over the years. After seeking medical attention three years later, she received a diagnosis of aquagenic urticaria.
As there is no known cure for the allergy, Montefusco manages her discomfort by minimizing water contact. She limits her baths, takes quick showers, and swiftly changes into clothes to avoid exacerbating her symptoms. Even exposure to cold air and activities like scrubbing or shaving intensify her pain. Sweat, as well as environments like the ocean, hot tubs, and pools, can worsen her bath rash.
Montefusco shared her attempts to cleanse using a cloth and water, but the allergic reaction persists. Dry shampoo has become her go-to for a speedy shower alternative. She emphasized that using “body wipes” is the only reliable method to cleanse without triggering her allergy.
Beyond the physical challenges, the constant pain has taken a toll on Montefusco’s mental well-being. She admitted feeling self-conscious about her reluctance to shower, deeming it “disgusting.” Fortunately, she found solace in a social media community of individuals facing similar challenges, forming a support network of people who, like her, abstain from showers.

Arvind Kejriwal Offers to Virtually Attend ED Summons in Delhi Excise Policy Probe
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has responded to the eighth summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) related to the money laundering probe concerning irregularities in the Delhi excise policy case. Despite considering the summons “illegal,” Mr. Kejriwal has expressed his willingness to answer the probe agency’s questions, proposing a date after March 12.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that Mr. Kejriwal will participate in the hearing through video conferencing. However, the ED is firm in its stance, insisting on physically questioning the Delhi Chief Minister, citing the absence of provisions for interrogation via video conferencing.
This development follows the issuance of the eighth summons on February 27, with March 4 set as the scheduled date for Mr. Kejriwal to appear at the agency’s headquarters.
The ongoing investigation revolves around alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy (2021–22). The ED is seeking Mr. Kejriwal’s statement on matters such as policy formulation and allegations of bribery.
Having skipped seven previous summonses, Mr. Kejriwal has labeled them as “illegal and politically motivated.” In a statement, the AAP has urged the ED to refrain from issuing further summonses and wait for the court’s decision.
The excise policy, intended to reform the liquor business in the national capital, promised a more modern shopping experience with discounts and offers. However, the order by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to investigate alleged irregularities led to the cancellation of the policy. The AAP accuses Mr. Saxena’s predecessor, Anil Baijal, of making last-minute changes that adversely affected the policy’s revenue expectations.
Two prominent AAP leaders, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, are already under judicial custody in connection with the case. Mr. Sisodia, the former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 last year, while Mr. Singh, a Rajya Sabha member, was arrested by the ED on October 5.

Traffic Gridlock: Massive Delays as Farmers' March to Delhi Causes Congestion
Key border points connecting Delhi with its satellite towns are experiencing severe traffic congestion and diversions ahead of a large-scale farmers’ march to the national capital.
Long queues of vehicles are visible on the highways at Ghazipur and Chilla borders, linking Delhi with Ghaziabad and Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
A frustrated commuter stranded on the DND flyover reported moving “only a kilometre in over an hour.” He described the traffic as stagnant for the past 20 minutes, with no apparent u-turn option.
Traffic is moving slowly on NH-48, the route connecting Delhi with Gurugram, with vehicles undergoing checks before entering the national capital.
Several border points, including Ghazipur, Singhu, and Tikri, have been fortified to prevent protesting farmers from entering Delhi. Concrete blocks, layers of barricades, barbed wires, and nails have been strategically placed on highways to impede the movement of tractors and trollies across these border points.
Despite talks between farmers and a government delegation last night, there was no consensus on three key demands, including a law guaranteeing the minimum support price (MSP).
In response to the anticipated disruption, Delhi Traffic Police have issued guidelines, restricting the entry of goods vehicles into Delhi via the Greater Noida Expressway. Goods vehicles are also prohibited from traveling between Sirsa in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh’s Surajpur via Parichowk.
To navigate around the traffic, those traveling to Delhi from the DND border are advised to take the elevated road via Sector 18 from Film City. Commuters from the Chilla side can use the Sector 14A Flyover, Roundabout Chowk, Sector 15 via Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundapura Chowk.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused authorities in Assam of barring him from visiting the Batadrava Satra Temple, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva, a revered Assamese saint and scholar from the 15th century, located in Nagaon.
Expressing his discontent with the restrictions, Mr. Gandhi queried, “We want to visit the temple. What crime have I committed that I cannot visit the temple?” He emphasized that the intention is solely to offer prayers without causing any disruptions.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had urged Mr. Gandhi to reconsider the route of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ expressing concerns about potential clashes with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Mr. Gandhi, reacting to the situation, commented that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi will decide who gets to enter the temple, stating, “Only one person can enter the temple.”
In response to the incident, Congress leaders and Mr. Gandhi initiated a sit-in protest in Nagaon.
Chief Minister Sarma emphasized the need to avoid unnecessary competition between the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple and the visit to the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva at Batadrava. He urged Mr. Gandhi to reconsider his plans, expressing concerns about the potential negative impact on Assam’s image.
“I urge Rahul Gandhi to not create a notion that there is a competition between Ram Temple and Batadrava Satra because the TV channels will be flashing Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony on one side and him visiting Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva’s birthplace on the other side. This won’t be good for Assam,” Mr. Sarma stated.
The Congress has announced nationwide protests, alleging “planned attacks” on the convoys of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam. Party general secretary KC Venugopal accused the Assam Chief Minister of orchestrating attacks on their convoys, properties, and leaders, labeling him as “the most corrupt chief minister in India.”
Mr. Venugopal called for widespread protests across the country, denouncing what he claimed to be an “assault on democracy” in Assam by the BJP-led government. During a roadshow, Mr. Gandhi encountered a hostile crowd in Nagaon, with slogans raised against him and placards displaying messages like ‘Anyay Yatra’ and ‘Rakibul go back,’ referring to Samaguri Congress MLA Rakibul Hussain.
