The Artistic collectives
There are groups of people that decide to abandon the authoriality due to make available their creativity for a bigger aim, by joining with other artists. But why they decide to work togheter? Wouldn’t be easier working by our own?
Before answering this question, an artistic collective is a collaboration between two or more people that have in common goals and ideology. They usually called themselves with invented name or acronym. Maintaining the unknown has the advantage to increase the level of comparison and personal growth.
In addition, the union of different talents permit to create ambitious and innovative projects that go above the capacity of a single person. Being in a collective has pros also in the economic field, by the possibility to partecipate to more contests.
The most relevant disadvantage is the lasting: they survive for a short amount of time owed to the different ideas and the difficulty of working always in a team.
But if the members are able to maintaining the comprehension, the flexibility, the adjustment, the sharing and the friendships above the avidity and the desire of success, then there won’t be any cons anymore.

The illustrator of the day - Veronica Ruffato
Veronica Ruffato, born in 1989, is a young illustrator that already has a great success with her works. She followed a consistent path: after high-school graduation in Architecture, she attended a Painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 2016 she was noticed twice: she was selected during the Children’s book fair of Bologna and she won the Ars in Fabula award during her attendance of the master in Ars in Macerata. During the master she collaborated with ZOOlibri house publishing that assigned her the illustration of “The ugly duck” story. This was her debut book which allowed her to become one of the most noted illustrators of 2019.
Tumblr media
The method used during the development of her first drawing board was to repeat several times the same definitive illustration: she used the same colors and shapes and reproduced the identical drawing for five times. The reasons of this repetition were both the insecurity in representing the story in a suitable way and the excitement for the new project. Furthermore, she said that this method helped here in better understanding her work.
Tumblr media
The successive works maintained the same meticulousness, beauty and skills of her precedent ones. She joined a group called “Colletivo BaldoBranco” that comprehended her, Chiara Mantello, Beatrice Zampetti, Sara Chissalé, Eleonora Lorenzon and Irene D’Oriente. They met at Venice University and after their graduation they maintained a strong friendship and decided to create a community that aimed to the creation of a annual editorial project in the world of the auto-production. They worked on a recipe book titled “Rivaluta lo strutto” (Re-evaluete the lard) and of course that was because they were food lovers.
Tumblr media
As you may understand Veronica Ruffato is a passionate artist with lots of hints and talent. I’ll show you some of my favorite illustrations of Veronica.

I hope you liked her at least as much as I do. Thanks for your time.

Artbook otd: Cyrano
by Tai-Marc Le Thanh (Author), Rébecca Dautremer (Illustrator), & 1 more
Cyrano had a big nose. Cyrano was in love with his cousin Rossana. But he didn't dare tell her (because of his big nose). Fortunately Cyrano was a poet. The tale of Cyrano's daring adventures is drawn very loosely (and somewhat loosely) from Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac. Age of reading: from 6 years.

STREET ART EINDHOVEN: ALTERNATIVE TRAVEL GUIDE
Eindhoven is perhaps not the first city one thinks of when planning a trip to the Netherlands. Far smaller and less known than Amsterdam and Rotterdam, with a more industrial and less historical past than Utrecht, yet Eindhoven has the ability to welcome its visitors like no other city in Holland, but above all it has been able to transform its past. industrial, thanks to the creative drive of talented artists and curators.
Today Eindhoven is perhaps the most urban city in the Netherlands and by urban we mean the type of city where art is seen on the walls and industrial spaces have been regenerated to become new cultural and creative centers. We spent a few days in the city letting ourselves be enchanted by its festivals, by the hipster clubs, by the art galleries and by the local graffiti scene: the result is that we fell madly in love with it and, if you also add the incredible Van Abbemuseum, here is that Eindhoven is to all intents and purposes the perfect destination for a trip dedicated to contemporary art!
Step in the Arena Graffiti Festival
Step in the Arena is one of the most important graffiti festivals in Europe. It takes place every year at De Berenkuil, a peripheral and rather gray area of Eindhoven which over the past 5 years has been regenerated thanks to the intervention of urban artists.
Berenkuil is also one of the largest halls of fame in Europe, which means that writers and urban artists have the opportunity to create works freely and legally. These spaces are fundamental in cities, because they allow young (and not so young) artists to experiment and at the same time contribute to redevelop some urban areas, making them new creative hubs.
The Step in the Arena has been taking place since 2010 and has become the main meeting point for Dutch writers and beyond: more than 150 artists have created works at Berenkuil, from over 40 countries around the world. This year took place on 25 and 26 September, we were lucky enough to participate and the mood of the event is crazy.
A festival attended by everyone, even families can bring children to have fun and freely learn the art of writing. In fact, in every corner there were kids and children busy with spray cans to create works and experiment with the languages of art.
Among the walls in our opinion not to be missed are those by Jacob Der Bruder, Corn 79, Deih, Malakkai, Gomad and Mr. Copy, the Don't Believe the Hype by HMX, the relief work by Marcel Thelen, as well as many other works.
The Berenkuil can be visited all year round freely, but our advice is to visit Eindhoven during the days of the festival: you won't regret it!

The art of doodling
Doodling limitlessly it’s much more than a simple distraction, in fact it's been proven that it increases positively the performances. The principle is that through visual learning we empowered our strategical thoughts.
There are multiple benefits:
Helps concentration - doodling maintains the "esecutive resources” of our brain more active. In this way we are not getting distracting thinking about other things but we keep attention into the topic of the talk.
Improves productivity - it helps to memorize more details about meeting, people, places...
Stimulates creativity - there's a game called "game storming” that allow to avoid the creative block. The game consists in drawing two unrelated things in a decomposed and stylized way.
Make new concept - a more active and creative mind can make different combination and so it can generate new ideas and concepts.
Finds solution - while doodling, we can observe the things in a different way and this can suggest us a new interpretation. Like dreaming, doodling is a subconscious incubation of the solution.
Against stress - it frees our mind and attracts positive energies. It also helps us to express our emotions.
Tell about who we are - according to some graphologists the most common doodles are about houses and flowers, lettera and harrows. Drawing the first things is related to the affective sphere, instead writings our name indicate an assertive person.
In conclusion doodling is for everyone because it has to help us and do not have look pretty.

Rupi Kaur
Rupi Kaur is known as one of the OG #instapoets. Everyone knows her name, even people who don’t follow her. But, she is still the same poet who found her squad on Instagram (we are still very much a member of that squad). In the world today, her bold, honest, and powerful messages are as important as ever.
Even though we see her poems are all over the internet, they still pack a punch. Some are like the emotional version of a hammer to the gut. And, sometimes, you just need a bit of that in your life.
