Hollow Knight Headcanon Dump; part 1/? - Wyrms and their Kingdoms
I need somewhere to [semi]comprehensibly dump my HCs that isn't my moots DMs, so here we go.
I'll start off by assuming we all know what wyrms are here, so let's just jump right into it.
Wyrms and their kingdoms are instrinsically connected- not every kingdom has a wyrm, but every wyrm has a kingdom, or had one, even if it is now dead or gone. The definition of a kingdom varies for each wyrm; some have a simple house, some entires cities, some a forest or a grove, but they are their kingdoms, in a sense.
If the kingdom prospers, so does the wyrm, and vice versa. The same applies with the wyrm or kingdom becoming ill or falling to ruins.
Quick divert to add I like this because it would explain why the Pale King was so desperate to keep Hallownest alive- if the kingdom stays running well and good, he stays alive, and if it, er, doesn't [which I'm sure would never ever happen] he uh. yeah..............
It's a symbiotic relationship :] neither wyrms nor kingdoms will die if the other does, but wyrms are significantly less happy and generally fulfilled without their kingdoms.
