online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.

i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

What is the most recent thing you've written or drawn? Do you like to share sneak peeks of your work, or do you prefer to post finished pieces only?

a bit late to answer this, but i got here eventually. unfortunately i cant show much of my latest work because ✨spoilers✨ but I'm working on my first ever commission piece!

i have shown sneak peeks of my work before but an issue with me is that if i post something I'll consider it done. or like, if i close the canvas? it's a finished project, I'll never go back to it again. so i try to finish my works before showing them to anyone because otherwise I'll never finish them, if that makes sense

also, sneak peaks are only fun for harder, more time consuming things.

I am obsessed with the old animated Batman series, that built me as a human. But the Lego one and the Pattison one also live in my brain. The animated one is my favorite though, that's MY Batman.

My favorite is Bruce, but also Cassandra ;)

yeah i am very batman brained right now. i haven't been able to stop thinking about them for weeks now, but i haven't made anything either? so im gonna mess around a bit to see if i can. at least be productive about it.

batfam hc, all of the kids have different ways to get b's attention. like, nightwing likes to pull his cowl ears, because as a kid he always used to climb on the batman and grab them for support and it just stuck. red robin tends to tap some sort of rhythm (occasionally morse) on his shoulder. red hood yells aggressively / elbows him / slaps him on the back. robin will declare his presence very clearly and say whatever he wants to say without bothering to check if it actually got his attention or not. black bat will sit and Stare until she is given his full attention. signal will call out and wave (like a normal person).

but, when they're tired or stressed or injured, they like to just grab onto his cape.

maybe tug it a couple times, or just hold on. either way, whenever one of his kids touch the cape, batman will always snap to their immediate attention and assess what he needs to do to help them.
