- a slow burn fantasy/supernatural romance with an incredible plot that is weaved in with chinese mythology, worldbuilding, humor, mystery, and ANGST LOTS OF ANGST but still manages to come out with a happy ending
- a mix of modern day and ancient China as Lingyuan was a being from thousands of years ago
- HUGE POWER COUPLE DYNAMICS; a fire wielding clan patriarch x ancient resurrected emperor from 3000 years ago
- fascinating and lovable side characters with their own stories and motivations
