He looked radiant in the red and silver of the Knight’s Divine armor. Neither it nor the sword at his hip were ceremonial and he knew how to use both, as Divine Victoria is well aware.

His new vows fell from his lips confidently, assured, taking the place of the shattered purpose leftover from his years with the Templar Order. Before the assembled clerics, nobles, the remnants of the Inquisition, he swore himself into her service: by Andraste’s grace, by the Maker’s will, up to and including the cost of his life.

He dropped to one knee before her and bowed his head so that she could place the wreath of prophet’s laurel around his neck. She offered him one gloved hand and only narrowly kept her composure at the whisper of heat through the fabric where his lips brushed against her knuckles.

“Rise, Ser Cullen Rutherford, Knight-Commander of the Divine Order!” Thank the Maker her voice did not shake. She was better at that, these days. “May the Maker guide your duty, your purpose, and your path.”

His eyes did not leave hers as he stood. They both knew, of course, that is was not the Maker who would guide his path, just as it was not the Maker who brought him here. Not really.

It was her.

It was always her.

Some expression chart of Aisling, this time in Whale AU shores. Top right one is my favourite, and it isn't really her if she's not crying in at least three ones.

Going on with the symbolism one, I'm kinda stuck over the object for Miss Trash Raccoon. I'd put a trashcan but I already painted one in the chart.

A collage from my sketchbook: I was in the dukedom of Prosciutto last week for some work, and I scribbled something. Always Whale AU themed. I am very upsed there's so few paintings themed around the Orlando Furioso, I referenced the possibly one I found. Raina in this iteration has more themes taken from that poem (lost her wisdom upon the moon). Some smooching as I listened to Hozier's I, Carrion (Icarian), which quickly became their love theme. And some random storyboards which I don't know if I'll keep. I found a piece of lore which gave me an idea for some comic pages to start... but it was in a book whose authors wrote for a broadcast notorious for featuring conspiracies and being very historically inaccurate. Think history channel, but worse. (Sì sto parlando di Mistero.)(I bought some books in a rush and didn't check the authors in the store). It needs to be double checked: I haven't found anything on the internet, but I have other books on lore from Alghero on which I hope to find a confirmation. Meanwhile, it's there.

WIP Wednesday!

Thank you for the tag @hollytree33!! I've been picking away at the next chapter of my long fic, so here's a lil chunk of it. ft. Cassandra being grumbly.

Traveling from Haven to the Crossroads was far more unpleasant than expected. The creak of brittle wood and clatter of uneven wheels was not what Cassandra would have considered ideal transportation, but there was little else in Haven that could ensure their passage to the Crossroads would be as swift as possible. A lack of mounts was high on the list of shortcomings the Inquisition faced, topped only by ‘leaderless’ and ‘labeled heretics by the Chantry.’ Unfortunately, while they could avoid the Chantry’s ire for the time being, travel was unavoidable, and she had begrudgingly forgone her own horse in favor of a spot on the floor in a rickety cart full of supplies while a scout rode ahead to survey their path. Their progress was slow-going, but there was little she could do to speed their journey through the mountains and she had grown tired of fretting over it, so she propped herself on a crate to keep look out over their small caravan. Solas and Varric had taken up a separate cart, and she could faintly hear their voices over the clamber of travel and scouts’ chatter. Part of her wished she could hear their conversation—Varric had no end of captivating, if not questionable, stories to tell, and Solas was strange and interesting in his own right, but she was also grateful for the slight distance. Her restlessness was quickly becoming irritation, and the sound of the others’ voices grew grating as they continued into hours. She let out a huff as she shifted, wondering if she should have brought a book to pass the time. It wasn’t as if her present company would mind, as she let her gaze drift from their surroundings to the man across from her.

i am!! working on bigfic again lately! (probably the last part of it wtffff that's still so weird to me....) and this is the most recent paragraph~

“I slept well,” she pointed out, “and I can’t exactly leave the Inquisition without its Inquisitor.” He arched a brow minutely at that - it stung. Although a moment later she wondered if she was projecting doubt onto the expression, when it could be something else entirely. Surprise at her reclaiming the title, perhaps; or maybe he saw right through the excuse. She did not feel like the Inquisitor anymore, but she did not want to sit up in her room and wallow, either.

hi!! im a huge fan of your art and style and was wondering if youd be willing to share what brushes/brush types you tend to use? your art always has such gorgeous textures and dimension! 💗

Absolutely!!!! I’m happy to share! I had to hunt a bit for the brushes I use for painting since I downloaded them a millennia ago haha, but here they are!

And for sketching I’ve really enjoyed these lately! I’ve been using the 6B brush for the most part

I hope this helps! I’m also a big fan of the HB pencil from the default Procreate brushes

(And thank you so much for the compliment 😭😭😭 I try to make sure all the little details in my paintings look loved 🩷)

Fanfic: I come to you with nothing - commonevilmastermind

Good things come in small packages and this one shot is *good.* I always forget that it's just a oneshot, because its impact on everyone who reads it is just so huge.

It's a beautiful fic that weaves together the Jewish traditions and culture that we know influenced the writing of the elves in the Dragon Age setting, and it is incredibly tangible and earnest and rooted in real world customs. It feels like coming home. It makes me really miss my Jewish half of the family, on another coast. And it makes me love this fandom that could make something like this fit into the Dragon Age setting, and do it beautifully and with respect born of familiarity and love.

I made a mod that unlocks one of Solas’ hidden dialogue trees so it can be seen in-game. It was apparently supposed to be a little quest for if you sided with the templars. This is probably the first time anyone’s experienced it in their actual game. :3
