when y/n gets into a little accident, all she wants and is her best friend to take care of her
warnings: fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“Why did you think it was a good idea to go ice skating if you have never skated in your life?”
Although you couldn’t see your mom through the pillow you smothered on your face, you knew the smirk she had across her lips, and the way she would be leaning against your doorframe trying not to laugh at your injury.
“My friends invited me and I thought it would be fun.” You answer embarrassingly.
A small giggle left her mouth, making you groan into your pillow. Her footsteps grew louder as you sensed she was walking towards your tired body lying down. The once dark vision you had from your eyes being covered now burned, as your vision was now bright from the sunshine shining right onto you through your window. She took the pillow and carefully lifted your right leg, trying to minimize the discomfort you felt as your tightly bandaged ankle now rested on the cushion.
“You’re lucky it’s a small sprain, or else I would be making fun of you more.”
“You know, I appreciate your help, but I don’t appreciate the insults I’m getting right now.”
Your mom’s laughter grew at your comment. “I know, just trying to lift the mood. I’ll get you a new ice pack.”
She leaned down to kiss your forehead, and you whispered a small ‘thank you.’ Before she left your room, she made a small gasp and turned around to look at you and smile.
“By the way, Josh is on his way here. I told his mother what happened and he insisted on coming over.”
And with that, she left you to be alone in your room to soak in all the pain in your ankle. Of course, it didn’t take long before you heard familiar footsteps coming up the staircase leading to your room, but what surprised you was that it wasn’t your mom bringing the promised ice pack, but your best friend, Josh.
“Hey, Y/N!” He greeted excitedly.
In his arms, he held numerous items you assumed were for you. From what you could tell, he held a bag of your favorite candy, two water bottles, a small bottle of advil, and an ice pack.
“Hi, Joshy. I didn’t expect you to be here so quickly.”
You watched as he pulled the chair from your desk right beside your bed and gently placed all the goodies he had on your bedside table. He sat down on the chair and helped you sit up and lean back against your headboard, and gave you the ice to put on your leg.
“When I heard that my best friend was being an idiot and broke her ankle, of course I get here as quickly as possible.”
You lightly punched his arm, making him laugh. “I didn’t break my ankle, I sprained it. And I’m not an idiot.”
“Then why did you decided to go ice skating when you have never skated before in your life?”
“Ok, I get it!” You annoyingly huff, leaning your head back and squeezing your eyes shut.
His laughter erupted in your ears, making you feel more calm. “Sorry, it’s just funny.”
You turn to look at him and notice his smile, making your frown disappear instantly. His eyes widened as he grabbed the candy and water from your table.
“I bought you some candy to make you feel better, and some water to take with the advil your mom told me to bring you.”
You grabbed his hand from his lap, squeezing it in your own, not noticing his now red face. “Thank you, Joshy.”
He winked at you before asking, “How did you even sprain it?”
You sigh, “Well, my friends wanted to go out and ice skate, and when I told them that I didn’t know how to, they offered to help me. They held my hand for a while and I somewhat got the hang of it, and when they let go of my hand, I immediately slipped and twisted my ankle, so we went home.”
“Well at least they were nice enough to take care of you until they dropped you off here. And you’re lucky to have the most amazing best friend in the world that I am now your servant for the rest of the day.” He announced proudly.
You rolled your eyes playfully at his remark. You eyed the orange hoodie he was wearing, making your smile grow wider. He noticed your face, shaking his head and laughing as he pulled at the collar and bringing the piece of clothing over his head, throwing it at your face once it was off.
“Thank you, sir.” You grin as you slip on his hoodie, immediately smelling the familiar cologne he always wore.
“Anything else for my lady?”
You turned to look at your bed, noticing the empty space. You opened your arms, “Cuddle?”
His eyes widened slightly, his cheeks blushing harder than before. He messed with his hair lightly before standing up and climbed over you to the empty side of your bed while you lied down.
While climbing over you, his foot kicked at your iced ankle, making you squirm at the instant pain you felt. He felt it immediately, checking your ankle as you bit your lip to try and not scream.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. I didn’t mean to-”
“It’s ok, I’m ok.” You groan, “Just cuddle me, please.”
He lied down next to you, moving his arm under your neck for you to use as a cushion, and opening his other arm to wrap around your shoulder. You snuggled into his chest, holding his waist tightly. The absolute comfort you felt was indescribable, as this was the nicest feeling you’ve had since you left the house this morning to go with your friends.
Josh was always a gentleman, not just to you but to everyone he meets. You admired the way he could be so caring and respectful to everyone, no matter what their attitude towards him is. Anytime he was with you, you felt so carefree and happy. That’s just the kind of light that Josh brings to every room he entered.
Even after the three years of friendship you had with him, nothing ever changed between you. It was always you two against the world, and nothing could ever change that. Not even the playful teasing both your parents make about you two being a couple or liking each other, which you never saw. You were sure that you would always be just friends, even if everyone else in the world told you otherwise.
“You really didn’t have to come over and take care of me.” You mumble into his chest.
“I wanted to, you know I would choose to hang out with you in a heartbeat.”
You smiled against his body, nuzzling your head further into him and squeezing his waist tighter against you. He did the same to you, his arms tightening around your shoulders.
Josh looked down at you, smiling to himself like an idiot as he couldn’t help but get goosebumps at how close you were. He could see your eyes slowly flutter shut, and lightly chuckle to himself as he saw you try to stay awake. Soon, you heard his soothing voice sing into your ear. You couldn’t tell what he was singing at this point, just that it sounded like an angel. Within seconds, you fell asleep in the safety and warmth of his arms.
➢➣ ➢➣
You jolt awake, only seeing the black shirt that Josh was wearing. You look up and see he’s still asleep, quietly laughing at the soft snores coming from his mouth. As you gently turn your body, hoping not to wake him up, you grab your phone from the table and check the time. It had only been about an hour since you fell asleep, so you put your phone back down and turn around to face him again. His eyes were slowly opening, and you instinctively move the hair covering his forehead.
“Good morning, sunshine.” You joke, watching as he was slowly waking up completely.
“Is it really morning?” He asks, his voice slightly raspy. He rubbed his eyes, stretching his arm out a little before holding your body against his again.
“We only slept for an hour, but we should get up now before we sleep for the rest of the day.”
“What if I want to sleep here for the rest of the day with you?”
You raise your eyebrow at his question. “Why would you want to?”
He sits up slightly, resting on the side of his body. His arms trailed down to your waist, tracing small circles on the small exposed part of your skin from where his hoodie rode up. You felt tingles travel through you, confused by the new sensantion your feeling. Just the way he was looking at you, a smile barely present on his face, made your cheeks burn up.
Maybe you never really focused on his features until now, like the way his eyes would shift to a gold hue when the light from outside your window shined perfectly on him, or how his brown curls perfectly framed his face, or the way his pink tinted lips looked so plump and smooth.
Maybe you never noticed the way he made you feel, like how he would always be the one to pay attention to you when no one would, or how he always stopped everything he was doing just to help you when you hurt yourself.
What you did know was that this new feeling made you a little nervous. You never thought of him as more than a friend, why would that change?
You shifted your gaze away from his, staring at the small designs on his shirt, as you knew that the more you stared at him the way he was at you, your face would be on fire.
“Y/N?” He mumbled.
You held in your breath lightly before looking up at him, but before you could do anything else, you felt your lips being attacked by his own. You were surprised, not because your best friend was kissing you, but because you kissed back. His hand squeezed at your waist as his other hand held your head tenderly, your hands moving from his sides to cup his cheeks. It was nothing like you have ever felt before. He was definitely more experienced than you, the way he was needy to be closer to you. You turned your head to deepen the kiss, hearing him groan quietly.
When he pulled away, you smiled at how his lips matched his red cheeks, and he could say the same thing about you.
“If you couldn’t tell, I really like you. I have for a while now.” He said breathlessly.
“I can’t tell, could you help me figure it out?”
He smiled widely as he crashed his lips against yours roughly. Your lips moved together quickly, feeling desperate to feel each other again. It was more passionate than the first one, if that was even possible. His hands, both now at your waist, pushed you further into the bed as he hovered over you. The movement was quick, and you both forgot that your ankle was still in a lot of pain until Josh’s foot kicked at it again. You pulled away, wincing at the harsh pain that stung your leg.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry Y/N!” He cried as he moved away from you.
You sat up and grabbed the ice that fell off your bed during your heated session with Josh and put as much pressure as you could on the bandages before it grew worse. He sat up beside you, rubbing your back as you tried to calm down from the pain.
“Some servant I am. I’m really, really sorry.” He apologized.
You turned to look at him, holding his cheek in your palm and sent a small smile. “It’s ok, we both got caught up in the moment.”
“I still feel bad.” He mumbled.
“If it helps,” You start, pecking his lips softly, “I really like you too.”

how else is y/n going to get the attention of her boyfriend?
warnings: swearing , suggestive fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“On my left, on my left!”
“No, no no!”
“Shit!”
Come over, he said.
It’ll be fun, he said.
We’re going to spend the whole day together, he said.
Bullshit, you said.
You could have done something else today, something more productive. Study for the tests you would have and inevitably fail the next week, maybe work out like you said you would this past New Year’s, clean your room from the mess you made while looking for your charger. Today could have been a productive day.
That said, you were never one to back up from being with your boyfriend. His schedule was pretty hectic with all the filming, interviews, and whatever it is that celebrities do, you didn’t pay much attention anyways. So when your usually busy boyfriend offers to hang out with you on one of his free days, it’s a steal.
Then he got an invite to play some video game with Matt and Larry. Then he asked if he could play a quick round, It would only be five minutes, babe. Then that one round turned into two, then five, then he doesn’t realize he has been playing for nearly an hour. Then you’re lying down on his bed behind him as he plays, and wonder if this was worth the procrastination you could have done at home. The answer is no.
You huff, staring at the ceiling above you, hoping there was something more interesting on the walls than hearing Josh laugh as he gets another shot in. Your legs dangle off the side of his bed while you lay on your back, strands of hair in various directions over your face.
“Josh?” You groan, tugging the hem of shirt and seeing a little bit of his back.
“Fuck off!” He screamed, smashing the buttons of his controller angrily.
Surprised, you sat up, making him turn his head. He gave you a quick look, pushing his headset away from his ears slightly so he could hear you better.
“Did you say something, babe?”
“I thought today would be just us, not us and your friends screaming at each other.”
He didnt respond for a few seconds, not until he was shot down and the round ended, erupting more profanities leaving his lips, and his controller leaving his hand.
“I’m sorry, what did you say? I couldn’t hear you.” He picked up his controller and fixed his headset, waiting for his match to start in 30 seconds.
“Are you going to give me any attention today? Or should I just go home?”
His head shot back towards you, eyebrows furrowed. “Already? Ok, I’ll just do one more round. Then we can watch a movie later.”
Without another word, he whipped his head back to the tv. You rolled your eyes, fixing your messy hair. Reaching for your phone beside you, you decide to scroll through your Twitter. Endless tweets from friends, celebrities you follow, and ads from various brands. Then a certain tweet caught your eye, retweeted by one of your hometown friends:
when your boyfriend won’t give you any attention 😂😂
Followed by a video from Tiktok, which was a girl recording her boyfriend in a similar situation as Josh, and from what you could assume, she was naked, which immediately caught the eyes of her boyfriend.
As if a lightbulb popped up from above your head, you smirked. You might as well give it a shot, he said one more round 20 rounds ago. Maybe you wouldn’t just completely strip in front of your boyfriend, let’s take some baby steps.
You stood up, stretched out your arms and back a little, and scanned the room. Josh’s desk was right next to his tv, so you thought that would be the perfect place for your little plan. Before making your way to the table, you unclip your bra from under your shirt, the tight feeling around your chest being relieved. You toss your bra on his bed, Josh not even noticing what you’re doing.
Casually striding to his desk, you lean against the counter, hands on the surface. The shirt you were wearing was a bit oversized, so your chest wasn’t as visible. You stare at Josh for a few seconds, wondering if he would even give you a glance. Of course, nothing.
Alright, initiating plan now.
“It’s a bit hot today, isn’t it?” You asked, changing your voice to sound more innocent compared to the annoyance you had earlier.
His eyes stay glued to the screen, his tongue caught in between his teeth. How dare he look so hot right now.
“Yeah, a little.” He mumbled.
You grab your shirt’s collar and start to fan it against yourself, hopefully making him look at you. You play with your hair, fluffing it out to make it look fanned, overall just trying to make yourself look as appealing as possible right now.
Still, no response.
Step two, here we go.
“It’s super hot right now, could we turn on a fan or something?”
You proceed to lift up your shirt over your head, throwing it across the room. You play with your hair more, looking anywhere around the room but him.
That was when he noticed. At first, it was a harmless peek as to what you were doing, then he took a second glance to fully notice you. His mouth hung open and his eyes widened, and suddenly nothing else mattered. Not the video game going on in front of him, not his friends’ muffled yells through his headphones, not even the fact that his character died seconds after he averted his eyes away from the screen. Just the way you looked, whether or not you had a shirt on, it was like the first time you met all over again.
When you looked his way, you couldn’t help but giggle at his red face. What else could you have done to get him away from that controller?
You looked him up and down and smiled, sending him a wink before you looked away.
“Yeah, uhm, guys? I have to go now, see ya.”
He ripped off his headset, turned off the tv, and left his controller on top of his console before practically running to you. He held your waist, his warms hands coming into contact with your cold skin as he stood in front of you. His face stayed the same since he first saw you, making you hold in your laughter.
“Wow, you’re so beautiful.” He whispered in awe, taking in all of you.
“I would hope so, seems like this is the only way for me to get you to notice me.”
“I’m sorry, no more video games when it’s an ‘us’ day, promise.”
You leaned up to gently press your lips against his, holding his cheeks in your hands. He smiled against your lips, and pulled away. His lips grazed your cheeks, leaving small kisses from your cheek to your ear.
“Why don’t I make it up to you, would you like that?”
His lips then trailed down your neck, painfully slow. Each kiss lingered even longer, his path stopping at your collarbone. He looked up at you with a smirk, noticing you nod rapidly. He moved up, kissing along your jaw and lightly sucking right by your ear, making a soft moan leave your lips.
“You said it was hot earlier,” He started, kissing your lips quickly.
His hands traveled down to under thighs as he effortlessly picked you up. You wrapped your legs around his torso, your hands around his neck.
“You better get used to it, because it’s about to get a lot hotter.”
“You’re so stupid.” You laugh.
“Did you expect anything else from me?”
A/N - this is a really late one , im so sorry to whoever requested this . but i hope u like it, it was fun to write (: this is also somewhat unedited so bear with me . also also i passed my drivers test so watch out road , im now a danger to society (; anyways love y’all xx

meet the parents ☆ ricky bowen
Tumblr media
requested by: @iamveryborrrreddd thank u so much for ur request
ricky is going to meet y/n’s parents for the first time, and nothing kills him more than knowing what his girlfriend’s parents think of him
warnings: fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Ricky 💞
what if they hate me?
what if they make you break up with me cuz they think i’m not good enough for you?
i’m sorry i’m being dumb right now but i just really want them to like me
you know, because i kinda really like you
You rolled your eyes at the texts your boyfriend sent you. Yesterday, your parents decided they wanted to finally sit down and get to know Ricky over dinner, instead of the little waves they gave each other when he dropped you off at home. Once you brought up the idea to him, he absolutely loved it. He always talked about wanting to get to know each other’s families, of course now that you have been dating for a few months already. It wasn’t until today during school, he got more anxious. His leg bounced the whole duration of class and he played with your fingers more, a habit you found out he had when he got nervous. You found it quite adorable, especially because of the extra affection that came with it. Now it was 5:30 pm, Ricky is supposed to be over in half an hour, and you could only imagine the mess in his room from all the possible outfit changes he made.
“The table is set and I made enough food for everyone. Are you exited?” Your mom asked as she popped into your room.
You took another quick look at your reflection, smoothing out your simple dress. “Yeah, it should be fun. He’s really nervous to meet you guys.”
“I don’t think it would be that, he sounds really sweet from what you have told me.” She came behind you, resting her arm over your shoulder and her head on yours as you both looked into the mirror.
“Just don’t scare him, I don’t want him to be more intimated than I think he already is.”
“No promises.” Your mom smiled cheekily at you before patting your shoulder and leaving your room.
My parents are crazy.
➢➣ ➢➣
It had been about 15 minutes since Ricky finally came. His curls prominent on his head, a simple button-up shirt with a black leather jacket, black jeans, and his usual vans. He brought a small bouquet of tulips for your mom, making her blush. After a small formal handshake with your parents, you could still sense the tension in his body after coming inside. Your dad showed you all to the dining table, completely covered with food. Both your parents sat on opposite ends of the table, letting you and Ricky sit next to each other. Being the gentleman he is, Ricky pulled your chair out for you before you were able to do it yourself. You gave a quick glance at either of your parents to see any change of reaction from their artificial, stern faces, but saw nothing. Here we go.
“You look good, Ricky. Where did you get that shirt?” Your dad asked, slowly eating the food your mom cooked.
Ricky’s hand subtly held yours under the table, letting it rest on his thigh. You smiled to yourself, letting your thumb graze over his skin soothingly.
“My dad and I went to his coworker’s wedding recently, so we went to this tuxedo shop downtown. Never really wore fancy stuff before then” You both laughed, but stopped once you realized you two were the only ones laughing.
Your dad nodded his head, not giving another reply. Almost silently, a small breath of air left Ricky’s lips. You squeezed his hand, giving a reassuring smile.
“Have you decided what you want to do after high school? I know my daughter has stuck with her major since she was in elementary school.” Your mom eyed Ricky, making his grip on your hands tighten. You glared at her, but got no look back.
He cleared his throat, running a hand through his hair before answering, “You know, I’m actually not too sure yet. Maybe something with engineering? I’m still figuring it out.” He forced out a laugh, you joining him, but kept quiet after another lack of a reaction from your parents.
“Don’t worry, not everyone has their life planned out. Sometimes people don’t know until it’s too late, so just don’t be late.” Your dad joked, giving the tiniest bit of a smile.
Small talk continued through the evening, though most of it was between your parents and small comments from you and Ricky. His grip gradually softened, making you believe that he started to get more comfortable with them. That was not the case. His leg still shook under the table, he barely made eye contact with you, and his jaw tensed every time they called his name.
Now it has been two hours, and you still had school the next day. You all finished your meals, and Ricky had offered to help clean the table with your dad. You and your mom had been in the living room, waiting for the both of them to come back out and say goodbye.
“What was that all about?” You questioned your mom, keeping a soft volume as to not let Ricky and your dad hear.
She finally showed a genuine smile, shrugging her shoulders. “What do you mean?”
“I said not to scare him! He’s never looked more terrified in his life.” You groan.
“We just wanted to see how he would act if we were strict. Don’t worry, Y/N, we really like him.”
“Don’t you realize how nerv- wait, what?” You stop rambling after hearing your mom.
She laughed, rubbing your back. “Your dad and I knew we would like him just by the way he was so nervous when he greeted us. He’s very polite, and he looks like a great boyfriend.”
You let out a breath of relief, leaning your head on her shoulder.
“I just hope dad isn’t giving him a really bad talk.”
“No promises.” She laughed.
Soon after, Ricky and your dad walked out of the kitchen. Somehow Ricky looked slightly more pale than he usually was. He stood next to you after shaking both your parents’ hands, giving you a scared smile.
“T-Thank you for inviting me over tonight, you’re both v-very lovely people and it was a p-pleasure to meet you.” He stuttered.
You could see a hint of a grin on your mom’s lips. “It was nice to meet you, too. Have a good rest of your night.”
“Remember our talk, Ricky.” Your dad reminded, giving a hard pat on his shoulder.
You turned to your boyfriend, grabbing his hand. He jolted, caught off guard by your touch before he hesitantly held it. “I’ll walk you out.” You smiled. He nodded, giving one last wave to your parents before following you out the front door.
The sky was dark already, stars eminent amongst the sky along with the lights of passing airplanes. Cold air blew through you, you chose to believe that was the reason Ricky walked so far from you. You walked him to the front of his car, but he didn’t look your way.
“Thanks for coming tonight, it means a lot to me.” You mumble, awkwardly shifting back in forth.
“Yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow.” He grinned.
You move your arms to hug him, frowning at his body pull back slightly. He held your waist, stuffing his face in your neck. As he pulled away, you lean in and peck his lips, smiling at each other before he got in his car.
➢➣ ➢➣
You stood outside your fourth period classroom, waiting for Ricky to come by so you could walk together to lunch. Since this morning, you didn’t get a single text or call from him. No sight of him even before school or passing period either. You began to worry, especially since it has been five minutes since lunch began and Ricky usually managed to get to you the second class was over.
You huffed, realizing the behavior of your boyfriend. He probably thinks my parents hate him. You rush around the halls, knowing exactly where he would be if he wasn’t with you.
The doors of the theatre stood in front of you, so you quietly opened the door as to not disrupt anyone that may be inside. The stage lights were on, leaving the seats dark. The piano in the far corner caught your eye, as your boyfriend sat on the seat in front of it with his guitar.
“Ricky?”
His head shot up, eyes wide once he heard his name leave your lips. He set his guitar against the seat, letting it lean as he stood up. His hands were either in his pocket, or scratching the back of his neck.
“Hey.” He mumbled.
“What’s wrong? I understand that my parents probably scared the hell out of you, but why have you been avoiding me?”
You were now standing a few inches away from him. His heart broke hearing how you felt. He didn’t mean to be so distant, and he especially didn’t mean to make you feel like you were the problem.
“I’m really sorry. It’s just that after last night, it sounded like your parents didn’t like me. And right after dinner your dad told me that if I believe that I’m good enough for you, then that’s all that matters. I thought about it for a bit, and I realized that maybe I’m not as good enough as I think I am. Or maybe he doesn’t think I should be with you.”
His eyes watered, so you instinctively held his face on your hands, making him nuzzle his cheek into your palms.
“Ricky, they love you.” You whisper, making him raise his eyebrows.
“But the way they talked to m-”
“They’re were trying to scare you, but they like you. I tried to tell them not to, but it’s some weird parent thing, I guess.”
For the first time in two days, you felt him relax. No more tense shoulders or jittery movements, just him softening his body with yours.
“And don’t ever think you’re not good enough for me. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have you.”
His hands held your waist, bringing you closer to his body as he placed his lips on yours. You kissed back immediately, missing the feeling.
You pulled away, resting your forehead against his. “How about after school we go talk to them again? I promise they won’t be as serious as they were yesterday.”
He pecked your lips again, smiling.
“That would be nice.”

josh decides there is only one logical thing to do when y/n is having one of the most stressful days of her life
warnings: fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Soft tunes coming from your car radio ran through your ears, your head leaning back against the headrest. You had already ran out of tears, now you just sat restlessly, focusing on your breathing and calming your heart rate. Your forehead and cheeks were damp, you couldn’t tell if it was sweat from the heat radiating through the vehicle or from the cries wiped across your face. Strands of your hair lay in different directions, mostly because of how much you shuffled it in your hands out of frustration.
It had been almost an hour since you came home from school, the day filled with anger-inducing teachers giving lectures and annoying classmates who couldn’t let you focus on your own work. Homework assignments and class work with no decent explanation on how to answer being piled on top of each other, and a pop quiz that you barely understand and bombed completely. At least it’s friday?
Pulling out your phone, you stared at your lock screen for a few seconds before it turned back off; it was Josh sitting on a tree branch, waving at you with his signature smile. A small smile swept across your face, then with a loud huff, you decide to text him.
Y/N
can i come over? i’m not feeling too great
Within a few seconds, you saw his name pop up onto your screen with a loud ding.
Joshy 💕
you don’t have to ask, hurry up!
You grabbed your backpack that was thrown into the passenger’s seat and opened your door. Fumbling with the keys in your hands, you unlocked your front door and trudged to your room. You left your school backpack by your bed and looked for your other bag. You didn’t have to worry about bringing extra clothes, some of yours were left at his house in case you wanted to sleep over. Before leaving, you told your mother you would stay at Josh’s house for the night, and quickly made your way to your car.
➢➣ ➢➣
Walking up the path to Josh’s house only made you grow more hungry for some sort of interaction that wasn’t an adult or stranger. You hadn’t realized how much you’ve missed seeing your boyfriend these past few days. School has been slowly taking over your life and you barely realized how much you have ignored him.
Once you reached the front door, you lifted your hand to knock, but instead you were taken back when the door swung open before you could touch it. Josh was standing inside, a worried smile and flushed cheeks.
“I was waiting for you by the window, I got excited to see you.”
Suddenly you couldn’t form any words. Your throat was dry and you felt your breathing halt. Your vision slowly got cloudy, and your legs began to feel unsteady.
Josh noticed immediately and grabbed onto your waist, bringing you into his chest. Your arms flew to wrap around his shoulders as you buried your head into his neck. He made sure to hold you tightly, worried that you would fall. His hands rubbed up and down your back, trying to soothe you as you sobbed into him. He didn’t dare to let go, he had been wanting to hold you again but didn’t think it would be like this. You slowly lifted your head, looking up at his somber expression. One of his hands moved up to your face, wiping away the wet trails left behind and moving hair from your face to behind your ear. His lips came to touch your forehead, letting his kiss linger for a few seconds.
“You want to sit down and tell me what’s wrong?” His voice was barely a whisper.
You nodded your head, making Josh dip down to scoop you up from under your legs and carrying you as if you were his bride. He carefully walked to his room, trying not to move too quickly to prevent a possible headache or dizziness.
Once he sat down on his bed, you now sitting on his lap, he leaned down to kiss your cheek. A small blush formed on your cheeks, already making you feel better.
“Tell me everything, sweetheart.”
You let out a slow breath, reaching out for his free hand and playing with his fingers.
“I’ve just been having the worst few days recently. All my teachers make me so mad and I’m just not understanding any of the work we’ve been doing and I’m scared to ask them for help because they might get mad at me for being too dumb and I’m scared that I’ll fail all my classes and we have so much work that I can’t keep up with and my classmates are just the most annoying people ever and I don’t know what to do.”
You began to hyperventilate, quickly feeling the stres rush through you again. Josh held onto you tighter, pulling you as close as he could while he rubbed your arms. You tried your best to calm yourself down, preventing yourself from crying again.
“And I feel so bad for not texting you back as quickly or not being able to answer your calls because I was trying to do my work and I’ve just been a terrible girlfriend-”
“No, don’t say that, you’re literally the perfect girl. I’m not going to be mad at you for doing homework and trying to learn, I know it’s tough.” He smiled down at you, trying to make you feel better. “I love you, ok? You’re here now, and it’s the weekend, so I’ll take care of you.”
“I love you, Joshy.”
Your hands crept up to hold his cheeks as you leaned in, planting your lips on his. It was nothing too rough or passionate, but slow and gentle. His smile peaked through, making you follow. Oh, how you’ve missed this.
He pulled away, leaving his forehead on yours. “I’ll be back, I’m going to get you some water and something to eat.” He carefully set you down on his bed, quickly running to the other side to grab his teddy bear. “Franklin will keep you company while I’m gone.”
You giggled as he gave you the bear, clutching it tightly to your chest. It smelled somewhat like him, probably because you knew he slept with it every night, as much as he denies it. He sprinted out of the room, his footsteps loud enough for you to hear from downstairs.
Ten minutes went by, and you started to wonder what this boy could be doing. That is, until you heard something drop and a small curse from behind the slightly open door. You watched as his door was slowly pushed open, showing his back. He turned around and you couldn’t help but smile at what he was holding.
“I didn’t know what you were craving at the moment, so I just brought a picnic basket with all your favorite things.” He said proudly.
You patted the area next to you, motioning for him to sit with him. He skipped to the other side, climbing onto the bed with you. The basket was set in between you two, and he rubbed his hands excitedly before he opened it.
“I brought water and lemonade, some chocolate from that one candy store you really like, some chips just in case you wanted something salty, and some fruit so it feels like we’re eating healthy.” He exclaimed, showing you each of the items.
His eyes brightened, as if he gained another idea. He jumped off from the bed and ran to the other side of the room, searching through one of his drawers. He pulled out a pink candle and some matches.
“Why do you keep matches in your room?” You wondered, watching as he turned off the lights and placed the candle next to you on his bedside table.
He picked up a match and striked it against the box, erupting a bright fire and putting it along the candle wick. “I bought some after I bought this candle.”
You blew out the match as he held it closer to you, laughing as he fanned the smoke coming to his face. He grabbed his laptop from his desk and went back to sit down next to you on his bed.
“We’ll watch some movies together, too. I’m going to make sure that you feel real better really soon.”
As Josh opened Netflix and quickly picked a random movie, you picked up a grape from the basket and looked at him giddily. He sat up and opened his mouth, letting you throw it at him. The fruit his forehead, causing the both of you to laugh.
He scooted closer to you, opening his arms for you to cuddle him. You snuggled up to his chest, wrapping your arms around his torso and his around your shoulder. Nothing else mattered as he held you closer, just you and him laying down, laughing and spending much needed quality time.
You looked up from the movie after a few minutes, taking in the sight in front of you. His smile made you turn warm. His eyes glanced between yours and your lips, until he leaned down to kiss you once again. Your hands went to his cheeks as his moved to your waist, his kiss deepening as the white noise from the movie slowly blurred out.
Yeah, you could get used to relaxing like this.

could you write something about having the first dance at the reader and joshs wedding? i think it would be super cute!!!
can i have this dance ☆ joshua bassett
Tumblr media
y/n and josh celebrate their wedding with their first dance as a married couple
warnings: fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“I’m just so happy for you.” Your mother tearfully smiled, wrapped her arms around you tightly.
“Thank you, mom.” You whimpered.
You pulled away from your mother, laughing as you both saw how red your eyes became after your moment. She lifted her hand to hold your cheek, using her thumb to gently wipe away the last cheek that fell from your eyes. You leaned in to place a quick kiss to her cheek, holding her again one last time before you went to greet other guests.
You stepped away from your mother, turning your head to admire the venue. It was big, but only meant for the guests of your close friends and family. The dark wooden walls and matching oak flooring helped make the white detailing of the light garlands strung across the ceiling, accompanied by little bouquets of flowers at each arch. Round, white tables with small centerpieces made up of pink and red flowers. we’re set in a large circle, leaving a wide open area in the center. The main table for you and your parents were in the very front, with the largest flower arrangement in the room. Your wedding arbor was set right behind the table where you and Josh were to be sitting at. You and Josh decorated it yourself with more lights and flowers than you could ever imagine. The music was being played from a small band that you hired, who also happened to be some of Josh’s family friends. While they also had a Dj to play their own music, you loved the live performances they had.
“If we could live in this moment
And just hold it.”
“Frozen” by Sabrina Claudio began to play on the speakers. A small gasp escaped your lips as you search the area for your husband. It didn’t take long before you felt a tap on your exposed shoulder, making your body tingle. Your turn around to see Josh, smiling brightly.
“Can I have this dance?” He asked, holding out his hand.
You greatly took his hand in yours, “I thought you’d never ask.”
He led you to the center of the venue, where the large empty space between all the tables were. All your friends and family had already taken their seats at their tables, watching in awe at the two of you.
“The flowers will be blooming
The leaves will be turning
And snow will be falling while we're making love
And the sun will be shining
The flowers still are blooming
Then leaves will turn again”
Josh’s hands snakes around your waist, pulling you in as close as he could to his chest. You wrapped your hand around his neck, your other hand holding his as you swayed along to the music. You layed your head on his chest, closing your eyes to completely soak in the moment.
Dancing with Josh felt so right. Having him hold you tightly, the feeling of protection and love. it could have lasted forever. You never thought that you would ever get married in such a fairytale style like today. Of course you both planned it, but when it all came together, it was something you had never imagined.
“How did I get so lucky?” Josh mumbled.
You looked up, meeting his gaze and smiling.
“I should be asking you that. This is all so perfect, and I’m so happy it’s with you.”
He let out a small laugh, making your heart flutter. His nose was pink, as it usually gets when he’s happy or nervous, you couldn’t tell which one it was.
“You’re r-really p-pretty.” He stuttered.
You giggled, tilting your head at his mumbling. “Why are you so nervous all of a sudden?”
Josh shook his head, “It’s nothing bad, I just, I...” He sighed, the corner of his lips curving. “I just can’t believe this day came. I wondered for so many years why I couldn’t just marry you the moment you agreed to go out with me. How are you real? You’re so perfect in every way.”
Your eyes brimmed with tears, clouding your vision at the slightest.
“I love you, Joshy.”
“I love you more, Y/N.”
He leaned down, capturing your lips in his. It was passionate, the way his lips fit yours perfectly. You felt him smile, making you feel warm.
“But time will be frozen for us
Time will be frozen for us”
And that it was.
A/N - u know what just hope i update cuz life is just hitting hard nowadays ): im really sorry y’all im really trying . but i hope u like this cute one , never thought about writing about marriage ( mainly cuz i dont see myself getting married ) , but i really like it . take care , love y’all xx

hey babes, just have a request. im sorta playing around with this idea myself, but i wanna see where you take it. could you do a ricky bowen one where the reader is nini's sister and she looks up to nini a lot and so shes given up a lot for her. like she really liked ricky before he started to date nini but she never did anything about because she just cares so much about being a good sister? LMAO that's really freaking specific but yea.
what sisters are for ☆ ricky bowen
Tumblr media
y/n loves nini to death, she’s her sister. she just want to see nini happy, even if it means sparing her own feelings
warnings: kinda angst, mainly fluff, long, very much unedited
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“Here, Nina, you can have mine.” You smiled, giving your older sister your cupcake.
She looked up from her gaze at the floor, water droplets clouding the carpeted floor underneath her chin. She wiped her flushed cheeks with the back of her hand, stumbling to get up and fixing her festive, red dress. You hold out your cupcake in your hand, hoping it would help her stop crying. She picked the treat from your hand and wrapped her arms around your shoulders, tightly hugging you close to her.
“Thank you, Y/N.”
You smiled at the memory brought back by the photo in your hand, both of you were six at the time. Nini and your cousins were running around the house as you helped your mothers serve food to your relatives and other family friends. Your grandma put on display some freshly baked and iced cupcakes, the smell of the french vanilla catching the attention of the kids. They all ran towards the table of desserts, each grabbing their own goodies from the counter. You managed to save the last cupcake for yourself, until you noticed your sister wasn’t around. You squeezed past your family members until you saw Nini on the floor crying. That was when you offered her your treat.
“Whatcha lookin’ at?” You heard Nini’s voice ask after she knocked on your open bedroom door.
She climbed your bed, sitting down next to you and peering over your shoulder. Her laugh ringed through your ear as she picked up the photo and looking at it closely. You had matching dresses, hers red and yours green, with a black brow wrapped around the waist. Nini was holding your hand while the other held the cupcake you gave her, smiling brightly at the camera in front of her. You used to hate photos, so you tried your best to give a big smile to match your sister.
“You were so dramatic back then, crying over a cupcake.” You joked.
Nini’s mouth widened as she shoved your shoulder, “You know that wasn’t true. Our cousin pushed me and laughed in my face as I cried. He was so rude.”
“Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that.”
“You’re a bully.” She complained.
“You’re a baby.”
She grabbed the pillow behind you and smacked it across your face. You gasped, immediately pushing her off your bed, making her fall on the floor. Her hair was tossled across her face, some strands peaking upwards. You held your stomach as you laughed intensely, Nini matching you.
“If you two girls don’t get ready soon, you’re going to be late for school!” Your mother yells from downstairs.
➢➣ ➢➣
You and Nini enter through the open school doors, squeezing through the tight hallways and the multiple students standing in large groups or barely moving an inch for you to move faster. You both managed to make it through and get to your locker, awaiting Kourtney to come by and greet you two.
“So, is EJ going to be with us during lunch?” You wonder, twisting the knob of your locker and opening it.
Nini grabbed her textbook and put it away in her bag quickly before responding, “Yeah, Kourtney wants to discuss some of the outfits she put together for our costumes. Sound good with you?”
“All good.” You reply, grinning at her.
“Did someone say Kourtney?”
You giggle, turning around to see your friend strutting towards you both. Kourtney comes up and gives you a quick hug, soon giving one to your sister as well.
“How are my favorite twins doing?”
Nini laughed, “We don’t even look that much the same.”
“Still twins. By the way, I saw Ricky on my way here, and I overheard him talking to Big Red about wanting to talk with you about something.” Kourtney warned, pointing at your sister.
“What would be want to talk to me about?”
“I’m not sure, but it didn’t seem too serious. Now let’s hang out in class until the bell rings, because I am not being late again.” Kourtney joked, wrapping her arm around your shoulder.
You laughed, “Yeah, I need to rest my headache from Nini hitting me in the head this morning.”
“Weren’t you the one who pushed me off your bed?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
As the three of you walked to class, you started to blush as you thought about Ricky again. You and Ricky knew each other for a long time; kindergarten; to be exact. The earliest memory you can think of with him was when he helped you up after you fell off the swing set during recess. After that, you and Ricky would push each other on the swing everyday and make sure neither of you went up too high. You introduced Nini to Ricky later on, and they grew to be good friends as well.
Even when the three ( five, once you all met Kourtney and Big Red ) reached high school, you managed to stay extremely close with each other, you and Ricky significantly closer. Freshman year, you discovered you had different feelings towards Ricky, some you never felt before. You haven’t had a crush before, Nini would talk about it, but you never understood her. Of course, you being you, those emotions were hidden away. Sophomore year came around, your feelings towards Ricky grew, and you were just about to gain the courage to ask him out. Then, Nini had asked out Ricky before you could. You weren’t mad, how could you? You never talked to her about how you felt about Ricky to her before. When he agreed to go out with Nini, you were happy for them. There was no chance you would be able to tell her that you liked Ricky, you only told Kourtney about it. After that, you pushed away those feelings again, locking it in a box, and throwing it towards the bottom of the ocean.
Their relationship was short-lived, however. Ricky and Nini only dated for six months , and had a mutual breakup with each other. There was only one night you comforted Nini about their relationship, and it was the same day it happened. They become more awkward with each other, Kourtney stopped talking to him altogether, and you tried your best to keep your friendship alive with him. As far as you knew, Ricky and Nini were still friends, just more distant. Now, after meeting him in a summer camp for acting, she began to date EJ, and you couldn’t be more happy for her.
➢➣ ➢➣
“Hey, babe, you want to come with me to get lunch?” EJ asked, resting both his hands on Nini’s shoulders.
You, Nini, and Kourtney looked up from your conversation to see EJ smiling brightly.
“Hello, Kourtney, Y/N.”
You and Kourtney wave back at him, giddily smiling at each other over how cute he was to Nini. Nini turned in her seat at the cafeteria table you were sat at and stood up to hug her boyfriend.
“Sure, let me just get my wallet.”
She begins to dig through her backpack, her eyebrows furrowed and a frown built upon her face. After a few more seconds of rummaging around her bag, she groans.
“Crap, I think I left my wallet at home.”
You shake your head at your sister. You pull out your wallet and bring out a $10 bill. You give a light shove to Nini’s arm, offering her the money.
“Here, I’m not going to eat lunch today. Don’t like what they have.” You shrug.
Nini shakes her head rapidly, “No, you don’t have to do that.”
“Just take it, nerd.”
She sighs, hesitantly grabbing the bill and hugging you from behind tightly. She thanks you right before she took EJ’s hand and went to get lunch.
You turned back to Kourtney, wanting to continue talking about her plans for all the actors’ costumes. She had a smirk on your face, confusing you.
“What’s wrong with you?” You question.
“So Nini and Ricky talked during third period today.”
You squinted your eyes at her, tilting your head slightly to the side. “Ok, and?”
“Nini told me what they discussed.”
“And?”
“It was about you!” She rushed, quickly tapping the table underneath her hands.
Your eyes widened, suddenly feeling your heart rate pick up. You shook your head, not believing what your friend had told you.
“About what?” You wonder.
“We’re back!” Nini smiled, placing her tray down in front of her along with EJ. “Thanks again, I’ll pay you back at home.”
You give her a quick smile. Nini and EJ go back into a conversation while you look back at Kourtney. She nods at you, smiling.
A vibration from your phone startled you. You picked up your phone and saw it was a text from Ricky. Your heart stopped, you instinctively started to bounce your leg up and down.
“Uhm, Ricky wants to meet up. I’ll see you guys later.” You say confusingly.
“See you in class.” Nini smiled as Kourtney winked at you.
You didn’t even notice your sister and friend giddily squealing with each other as you walked away from their table.
Ricky’s text said to meet you at the staircase by the auditorium. Most of the students at this time were in the cafeteria, making it easier for you to veer through the school and make it to the staircase. You didn’t want to run, why would you willingly run anyways, but you did speed across the hallways.
Once you finally reached the staircase, you carefully made your way down the steps as to not fall down. You turned to go down the final flight of steps, and immediately noticed Ricky sitting on the last step. You only saw his back side, but it was enough to make you blush.
“Ricky?” You call, making the boy turn his head and stand up immediately.
He instantly smiled at you, running one hand through his curls and the other patting down his green hoodie.
“Hi, Y/N. I’m surprised you came to talk to me.”
You finished walked down the steps, standing on the last one where he sat before and making you almost match his height.
“Why wouldn’t I? You’re my friend.”
“I know, it’s just been a bit different since we really got to talk like this.”
“And may I ask why we are here?”
Ricky scratched the back of his neck, breaking eye contact from you to look around the area. You moved your head to try and meet his eyeline, hoping he would look at you.
“I’ve had something on my mind for a while, and I feel like you should know.”
Your heart started beating quickly again, feeling your face warm up and your hands beginning to fumble with each other.
“What is it?”
He took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a few seconds before staring back at you. His small gaze alone surely made your cheeks flush.
“For these past few weeks, few months, actually, I could not stop thinking about you.”
Your mouth opened slightly, and your eye widened. No noise was able to come out of your mouth, his words made you completely shocked.
“It’s been a little over a year since Nini and I dated, and for that time we were together, it didn’t feel real.”
“What do you mean?” You asked in a hush tone.
“It just didn’t feel like a real relationship. I did like her, but something just didn’t feel right. After a while we sort of lost that spark, you know?”
You were scared for Ricky to finish his sentence. Everything you could have thought he was going to say terrified you.
“When Nini stopped talking to me, I was somewhat ok. I mean, yeah, we’re friends, but it didn’t bother me as much. But then you stopped talking to me, too, and I realized what was happening.”
He took a short pause, as if he was trying to find the right way to phrase what he would say next.
“I thought I lost you, like we would never be friends again, and that caused me the most heartbreak. We would still talk, you know? Even when Nini and I were together, we were still best friends. But those few months that we barely spoke to each other, it was like a piece of me was missing. I needed you, more than anything in the world. I know it sucks, especially because I dated your sister, and it took me so long to realize this, but I have to know. Do you like me the way that I like you?”
You felt like you were going to faint. This is what you have always wanted; for Ricky to tell you that he felt the same way about you. But none of this felt right. It was as if you were stabbing your sister in the back. How could you date your sister’s ex boyfriend? How selfish could you be to say yes to him?
You mustered up the courage to finally speak up. “Ricky,”
“Yeah?” He responded hopefully, his body starting to lean closer to yours.
“I do like you, for like, a long time.”
Ricky let out a relieved breath, slowly inching his head closer to yours. Your breath hitched in your throat just as his nose touched yours, but you placed a hand on his chest, preventing him from moving any closer.
“But I can’t be with you.”
He pulled away, his smiled faded into a frown.
“You still dated my sister, and I know you mean no harm, but I can’t do that to her. I really do like you, and I wish I would be with you the way you want to, but we can’t. It’s not right.”
He shook his head sadly, taking a small step back from where you stood. You felt a pain in your chest as you regretted rejecting him.
An awkward silence grew over you two, making you feel uneasy. Your skin itched the more you stood quietly.
“We’re still friends, right?” You asked shyly.
The corner of Ricky’s lips turned upwards, a sense of relief washed over you. “Always.”
“Let me know if you change your mind, I’m always here.”
You grinned, holding your arms out for Ricky to come to you. He greatfully scooted closer and wrapped his arms around your waist, yours around his neck. You felt so comfortable again, having him hold you. His hands on your torso felt like it grew slightly tighter. You mirrored him by holding him closer to you for a little longer.
➢➣ ➢➣
“Can we talk?”
You looked up from your laptop on your lap. Your back was up against the headboard of your bed, typing out some of your homework assigned. Nini was standing by the doorway, a soft smile on her face.
“Yeah, something wrong?” You shut your laptop and put it on your bedside table, making room for your sister.
She climbed your bed and sat in front of you, crossing her legs. “I know what you did today.”
You took a deep breath, closing your eyes and rolling your head back.
“Look, Nini, I’m so sorry-”
“Why? I’m not mad.”
“I didn’t mean to hurt you, I promise I-wait, what?” You ramble.
“Ricky told me what happened. He said that he finally told you that he liked you, and you felt the same but you wouldn’t do anything because you didn’t want to hurt me.”
“I never want to disrespect you, you’re my sister.”
Nini sighed as she crawled up next to you and sit right by your side. She placed her hand on your arm, giving you a reassuring smile.
“Don’t you think I know how much you have given up for me for our entire lives?”
You raised an eyebrow, confused as to what she was implying.
“Like that Christmas when you gave me your cupcake, and when you took the blame for me for knocking over that vase, and when you hid your feelings for Ricky from me, and when you gave me $10 to buy lunch, and now you rejected Ricky just because you didn’t want to hurt me.”
“Wait, you knew I liked Ricky?”
“I figured it out after we broke up.”
You groaned, resting your elbows on your knees and shoving your face in your hands.
“I’m sorry.”
“Stop being sorry, Y/N. You have done so much for me, and I have been the terrible sister for not being able to do anything for you. I’m sorry.”
You shook your head at your sister, but she held up her hand before you could continue.
“Let me do something for you. Text Ricky right now and say you will go out an a date with him.”
“No, Nini, I can’t.” You started.
“Trust me, it’s weird for me, too. It’s so weird to think of my sister and my ex being together. But you deserve to be happy, and it’s not like I hate his guts or anything.”
You both laugh together. You finally felt complete relief inside, especially now that your sister was happy for you. You brought your sister into your arms, hugging her as tightly as you could.
“Thank you, Nini.” You whispered.
“I know, I’m the best big sister ever.”
“By like five minutes.”
“Shut up and text him already!”
You laughed, unplugging your phone from its charger and opening Ricky’s contact.

twenty dollar baby III ☆ ricky bowen
Tumblr media
ricky does whatever he can to apologize to y/n, and has to face someone else
warnings: swearing, angst
part I , part II , part III
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“I’m such a fucking idiot. How could I be so fucking stupid?”
Your soft cries echoed through the bare halls. The iciness of the cold tiles underneath your palms tingled through your arms, causing you to shiver. The inside of your head felt cloudy, racing in circles and trying to keep steady. Gravity overcame you, making it nearly impossible for you to get up on your own. Slowly, you managed to sit up from the ground, leaning your back against the metal lockers and bringing your knees to your chest. You rubbed your swollen eyes, harshly running your hands across your skin. You steadied your breath, wiping off the remaining tears from your cheeks.
“Y/N?”
You didn’t bother to turn your head to see who called, the familiar high-pitched voice gave away who it was.
“Oh my god, what happened?”
Carlos’ rapid footsteps grew louder, and soon he was kneeling down in front of you. He pushed back the strands of hair covering your face.
“Where’s Ricky?”
You rolled your eyes, running your hands through your scalp and throwing your hair back. Carlos stood up, holding his hand out for you to hold. Taking his offer, you lazily got up from the floor and bit the inside of your lip. It didn’t take long for him to figure out what happened, so he immediately threw his arms around your shoulders and brought you into his grasp. You clutched your arms around him, feeling the build up of another breakdown release. He stroked your hair soothingly while you cried into his shoulder.
“Let’s go back inside the auditorium. We can talk somewhere more private.”
➢➣ ➢➣
Ricky ran through every inch of the school’s hallways. After you had stormed out of the library, Ricky panicked as to what he should do. Big Red’s advice was to find you and apologize.
Here he was, running around for about ten minutes trying to find you again. His last resort was to go to your locker, hoping you would be there like this morning.
He was about to turn the corner, until he rammed into another person on the other side.
“Sorry about that.”
“What’s wrong, Ricky?”
He turned around to look back at the voice who called for him. There stood Nini, giving him a worried look.
“You and Big Red ran off. Red came back a while ago, so I came to look for you. And I was hoping we could continue our conversation earlier.”
Thoughts began to race around his head. The girl that he believed he really liked and would be with for a long time wanted to be with him again. But why was it so different for him this time? He wasn’t the same person he was weeks ago, he felt a lot different.
“Nini, I’m sorry.”
She looked at him confusingly. “Why?”
“I know you broke up with EJ for me, but we can’t get back together.”
Her smile dropped, feeling a wave of sadness hit her.
“You were such a good girlfriend, but we weren’t meant for each other. We’re two totally different people, and you deserve someone better than me.”
She hugged her arms together. “I guess you’re right, we were never good at the romantic stuff together, huh?”
His shook his head, “We were always better at friends, maybe it should stay like that.”
She smiled again, “You’re looking for Y/N, right?”
Ricky nodded his head quickly, hoping she knew where you were. “Do you know where she is?”
“Carlos took her backstage, but I think Red is talking to her right now. She looked pretty upset.”
“I wonder why.” Ricky mumbled, “Thank you, Nini, for everything.”
She stood in front of him, reaching her arms up around his neck and hugged him tightly. Hesitant at first, he wrapped his hands around her waist.
This feeling was something that he wished for for a long time after they broke up. He always wanted to hug her like this, but now he was more than happy that he was hugging his friend again.
➢➣ ➢➣
Carlos tossed a water bottle towards where you sat on one of the chairs by the makeup counter. You caught it, struggling to open with your unsteady hand. He took you to dressing rooms, making sure everyone was out with Miss Jenn running through the scenes. He sat down next to you, turning his body to face you completely.
“What kind of sick person makes a bet on a person? He’s such an asshole.” He sneered.
Your head throbbed from the dehydration you felt. You tried your best to massage your forehead, hoping to get rid of the pain.
“I’m just an idiot.” You sighed.
“No, Y/N, Ricky’s the idiot.”
“I really thought that he liked me. He made me feel so special.”
“That’s what guys like him do. They make you feel like nothing matters but you, but they just want to get inside your pants. I know you liked him, but Ricky and his friend are just the scum of the world.”
Two quiet knocks from behind the door interrupted your conversation. You both looked at each other before Carlos got up. He turned the door handle and opened it slowly, groaning when he saw who stood by.
“Y/N, it’s one of the scums.”
You looked ahead to see Big Red. He held hands together in front of him, slouching his head towards the floor. Once he finally looked up at you, his breath was shaky.
“Can I talk to Y/N alone, please?” He muttered sadly.
“And what makes you think you deserve to talk to her?” Carlos snapped.
“I don’t, but she deserves an apology.”
“You can talk to her in the corner while I sit and watch over you.”
Red nodded his head as he made his way to the chair next to yours. Carlos sat two seats away from you, making sure to be close and ready to comfort you if you need him.
“Y/N-”
“You’re sorry, I know.” You mumbled.
“What I did, it was a real dick thing to do. I should have never made that deal with him. I just felt so bad that he couldn’t get over Nini. He needed to move on.”
“So you made a bet for him to get a girlfriend?” You cut him off.
“I don’t know what I was thinking. He’s my best friend, and he was so stuck up on her that he needed to find someone new. I shouldn’t have picked you, especially since I knew how close you two were.”
You shook your head, “That doesn’t justify it.”
“It doesn’t. I’m an idiot, I know that. But he became a different person with you. When he passed by Nini in the hallway he barely noticed her. He wouldn’t shut up about you. He really did like you.”
“That’s not what I heard in the library.”
“What you heard wasn’t the complete story.”
Your phone dinged on the counter. You read the screen, seeing as it was a text from your mother asking where you were. You breathed heavily through your nose.
“I have to go now.” You said, getting up from your seat and motioning for Carlos to come with you.
“Wait,”
You and Carlos turned back towards Big Red. He walked up to you frantically. “I’m really sorry, for everything.”
You felt your body tense, your eyes began to water again. “I know, it’s fine. I just have to think.”
Red nodded, staring back down at the floor again.
“Thank you,” You started, “for apologizing. It means a lot.”
“I just hope Ricky does the same. You didn’t deserve to go through with what we did.”
Your breath hitched, you didn’t want to even think of seeing him again. Carlos wrapped his arm around your shoulder, nodding towards the door.
“Bye.” Red waved.
You gave him a half smile, turning around and leaving the dressing room and out the auditorium.
➢➣ ➢➣
“You want to get something to eat before we go home? I could really use a breather before I have to explain everything to my mom.” You offered.
You and Carlos had just exited the school’s main doors. The sky was bright, burning your eyes the moment you looked up. The breeze brushed through you, sending a refreshing shiver to your skin.
“Sounds perfect, but I’m paying. I’m treating you for, like, the rest of the year.”
A small smile grew on your lips. You grabbed your car keys from your jacket pocket, searching for the button to unlock your car. Once you found it, you looked ahead to point the button in your car’s direction, only to see Ricky standing by your door.
Your smile dropped, and suddenly you felt your body start to shake like earlier. The heavy breathing that come out your mouth and welled up tears building in your eyes made you feel dizzy.
Ricky watched you, slowly getting teary eyed as he watched you slowly break down in front of him. He wanted to run up and hold you in his arms like before. He wanted to tell you he was so sorry for everything and tell you that it would all be ok.
“I’m going to murder him.” Carlos began to stomp towards Ricky, making him back up farther in the parking lot.
You yanked at Carlos’ shoulder, preventing him from going any closer to Ricky. He looked at you in confusion.
“I left my phone in the dressing room. Can you get it for me, please?”
“There is no way I am leaving you alone with him.”
You gave him a look, letting him know you would be alright. He sighed in defeat, squeezing your hand before he sped back inside the school.
Ricky carefully shuffled towards you, watching each step to see if you would stop him. He managed to stand close enough to you that he could see red in your tired eyes. It broke him how much you were in despair. You looked more pale to him, as if all the life inside you had been sucked away. The only one to blame for this was him.
“Why did you do it?” You whispered.
He was startled by your question, he expected to do all the talking and for you to just stand there.
“I don’t know.”
“Did you even like me before that stupid deal?”
Your voice raised slightly. It was still soft, but enough to show your frustration.
He was silent for a few seconds, he didn’t know what to say or how he felt.
“I don’t know.”
“You can’t keep saying you don’t know. You have to know something.”
He took another step closer to you. “I know that what I did was the stupidest thing I could have ever done. And that I should have never agreed to Red’s stupid bet.”
You groaned, “You used me, Ricky. You made me believe that you actually liked me. Was all this just for you to get back with Nini? Because if so, then congratulations. She broke up with EJ just for you, how exciting.”
“I would never use you to get back with her.”
“But you would for $20.”
You believed you just cry involuntarily now. You hadn’t even noticed the stream rolling down your cheeks until it hit your palm.
Ricky was now also breaking down. His face was as red as his bruised lips. You could tell how much he chewed his lips since you saw him before.
“That bet was wrong, but everything I did after was real. You’re one of my closest friends, Y/N. What I felt for you on our first date was something so different. I really like you, and I think I-”
“I have your phone, Y/N.”
Carlos ran up next to you, holding your phone in his hand. You wiped your eyes for the hundredth time today, feeling a sting. He rubbed your back slowly, checking to make sure you were ok.
“Please, listen to me.” Ricky pleaded, holding your hand.
You felt something rough in between both of your palms. You looked down confusingly at your hands, making Carlos believe you didn’t want him to touch you.
Carlos roughly smacked Ricky’s hand off of yours, making him pull back and wince.
You looked towards Ricky, biting the inside of your cheek.
“I’m worth a lot more than $20.”
He only nodded at you, his eyes full of sorrow and pain.
“Come on, I’ll drive us home.” Carlos rushed, getting the keys from your other hand and leading you inside the passenger’s seat of your car.
Ricky watched as you pulled out of the parking space, hoping that you would forgive him.
➢➣ ➢➣
Once you got some quick food from a drive-thru and dropped off Carlos at home, you managed to get home without causing some sort of traffic jam. You left your food on the kitchen table, alarming your mother when she saw the state you were in.
“Are you alright?” She worryingly asked.
You simply nodded, not feeling the energy to speak. Whenever she knew you were sad, she knew that you wouldn’t want to talk to anybody. She rushed to your side and planted a sweet kiss to your forehead. You smiled at her before slugging your way to your room.
You collapsed on your bed, feeling suffocated by the sheets that covered your face. It didn’t bother you, for some reason. You turned on your back, staring at the ceiling above. Should I have forgiven him, or should I have slapped him?
Suddenly you remembered that Ricky had slipped something inside your hand, but you tucked it away in your pocket before you left so you wouldn’t forget it. You reached inside the pouch of your jeans and pulled out a small paper ball.
You sat up from your bed, messing with your hair before you slowly tore open the crunched paper. It was soon revealed to be another flashcard that Ricky would always throw at you to talk during class. The note was from the day Ricky asked you out.
we should definitely go on a trip to the beach like soon
ricky ur too dumb to drive that far
ur too dumb for being friends with me so who’s the loser now
Reading the front side of the note made you scoff. You flipped it over to see new writing from him, making you raise an eyebrow.
ur right, ur worth a lot more than twenty dollars. so let me prove it to u.
the pier, tomorrow at 2.

do you think josh plays video games?? like I don’t know if he’s ever said anything about it but it could be a cute idea if like the reader is trying to do the TikTok thing where she climbs in his lap but he is playing games with Larry or Matt and is all like noooo but then she acts butthurt and he makes it up to her
tiktok and cuddles ☆ joshua bassett

y/n scrolls too much on tiktok for her own good, so she wants to see what a silly trend can do for her personal life
warnings: swearing, fluff
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“Fuck!”
Your head jumped from your phone, jolting up from your comfortable position on Josh’s couch to check what happened to him. He was slouched on his cushion, leaning more towards the tv each minute. His hair was messy, as it usually is, trapped underneath his bulky, grey headset. The mic barely covered his mouth, only letting you see his bottom lip trapped between his teeth. You sighed in relief as he was perfectly fine, just loud and angry.
“Cover me, cover me!”
“Josh,” You whined, barely catching any of his attention, “you’ve been playing video games for like two hours.”
He lifted up the mic, muting his voice from his friend and giving you less than a second’s glance. “Almost done, baby. Larry, and I are going to finish a few more rounds. We can go out to dinner soon, alright?”
You were not able to get a sound in before he pulled the mic back down and continues to yell at his friend. Groaning, you opened your phone again and clicked on the TikTok app.
There could have been days that passed by and you would not be able to tell. Scrolling through TikTok could take up a majority of your life, but it’s better than watching Josh play video games for four hours straight. People dancing to different music, the occasional cooking tutorial, amazing singers, and a trend that caught your eye the moment you saw it.
“This is me trying to hug my boyfriend while he plays video games to see what he does.”
Sounds promising.
You continued to watch the video, fully involved in everything it had to offer. It shows a girl, prepping up her camera on a surface to show her boyfriend in a similar position to yours. She stood up and quickly ducked her head underneath his arms, nudging it up and making him lift them, still focused on the game. She then climbs her way onto his lap, straddling him and hugging him closely while her boyfriend adjusts his controller around her so he could play while letting her hold onto him. A few seconds later, he puts down the controller and hugs back tightly, then ending the video.
You held a smile the entire minute, gaining the idea to try it on Josh. You threw your phone next to you, standing up and stretching your arms. Of course, your boyfriend paid no attention to you. You dropped down on your knees, quietly shuffling towards him. Soon you were right by his legs, so you proceeded to imitate the girl in the video and nudge up his arms with your head.
“Babe, what are you doing?” He asked worryingly, moving his arms up higher to try and continue playing.
Josh lifting his arms made it easier for you to climb the rest of your body on him, keeping your legs on either side of his and wrapping your arms around his waist. You snuggled your head deep into his neck, barely covered by his hoodie.
“Babe, I can’t see the screen! Can you move, please?”
He leaned over to plant a swift, rough kiss to the side of your head as he carefully tried to wiggle out of your grasp. You rolled your eyes, climbing out of his lap. You weren’t mad, of course, but it made you somewhat sad to know you couldn’t stay with him longer.
You climbed over to the other side of the couch where you had previously laid down, bringing your knees up to your chest and ducking your head in your legs. Josh noticed, feeling guilt overcome him.
“Alright, I’m going to go now. I’ll text you later, yeah? Ok, bye.”
The cushions of the couch sank deeper next to you, letting you know that Josh was right by your side. He slid his arm around your shoulder, rubbing it soothingly.
“Y/N?”
You scooted as farther away from him as you could, though not being able to move too much by the arm of the couch.
“You want to go out on a date now?”
The smile forming on your lips could not be contained, so you slowly lifted your head from your legs to see him. He had a sad smile, as if he did truly feel sorry for what he did. You nodded your head, climbing back onto his lap and hugging him. This time, he hugged back, clutching your waist as you threw your arms around his neck.
“I’m sorry for ignoring you. I guess I kind of lost track of time.” His voice was muffled in the fabric of your shirt.
“It’s fine, but you owe me.”
Josh moved his hands down to your butt, squeezing it gently as he stood up, still holding onto you tightly. You moved your head to look down at him, smiling and leaning down to kiss his lips passionately. His smiled peaked through in the kiss.
“I can definitely do that.

I love the idea of Joshua doing a livestream and the reader has to leave the room but she can’t without being seen from the audience so she tries and crawl and everyone sees her and then the reader and josh have to confirm their relationship :)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
“Still haven’t tied his shoes, Twitter hates me for that. But you know what? He doesn’t walk yet, so it doesn’t matter.”
You softly laughed as you watched your boyfriend. Josh’s guitar was tucked underneath his arm as he held up his teddy bear. You remembered the impulsive trip to get that bear. What was supposed to be a trip to the store to get ice cream turned into a date at Build-A-Bear and going to the ice rink. He liked to think your relationship was spontaneous, it was exciting to do something new everyday without having to plan for it.
“Alright, so what should I sing?” He asked, shifting his head closer to his phone screen to read the hundreds of requests coming in. “I’ll sing Common Sense.”
You internally screamed when he announced the song. Josh always had a soft spot for that song in particular. He spent hours on facetime with you so he could play his guitar and ask your opinion on the music. Now he was able to release the full version and make a beautiful music video soon to be uploaded.
As he started to strum the beginning chords to his song, your eyes were fixated on the way he scrunched his nose when he sang. You found it unbelievable how someone could be so perfect to you.
“Common sense tells me, ‘Kiss the girl goodbye’
Common sense tells me, ‘Leave it all behind.’”
You and Josh have been dating for six months. His favorite coffee shop happened to be the same place you worked at. After a while, you had memorized his order and the time he came by, so a cup of his favorite drink with his name written by a heart would be ready on the counter for when he arrived. Weeks flew by with this system you two had, and he had managed to work up the courage to leave his number written messily on a napkin. This resulted in numerous dates and a relationship kept secret from the public, in an attempt to have some sort of privacy in his social life.
“Hope you guys are as excited as I am for me to release the music video for this song. I really worked hard on it.”
His eyes traveled to you for a few seconds, smiling to himself as he saw you propped up on the floor against his bed. You waved, blowing a kiss towards his direction. His hand slid down his leg, away from the view of the camera, and pretended to catch the kiss you sent him.
He began to answer some questions being commented or talking about his show. You continued to listen, genuinely interested in everything he was saying, until your phone vibrated on your leg. You checked the notification covering your lock screen, and instantly widened your eyes.
Your Uber Eats delivery has left the restaurant and is on their way.
Josh was sat directly in front of the door. There would be no way for you to be able to leave without being shown in his livestream. You instantly waved your hand towards his direction, hoping to get his attention. Immediately, he looked to see you pointing at your phone. The brightness was set to the highest setting, making him aware of the notification.
You could tell he was trying to make an excuse to leave for a few seconds. “Uhm, hold on guys. I’m going to get my other guitar, it sounds better than this one.”
He rushed to you, dropping on one knee to meet your eye level.
“I could probably climb out the window, we’re not too far from the ground.” You half joked.
Josh rolled his eyes, “Just crawl through, they won’t see you.”
“Yeah, but they’ll see the door open and close. Like that isn’t suspicious.”
“You really want to jump out of the window?”
You gave him a sly smile, quirking an eyebrow at him.
“Just crawl, I have to get back before they start wondering where I am.”
He leaned down to meet your lips for a quick, gentle kiss. His arm reached behind you to grab his other guitar and rushing back to his chair.
Another text was sent, saying the delivery was about five minutes away. You stuffed your phone in the pouch of your jeans, throwing on the hood from your jacket before sitting up on your knees. At first, you shuffled across the carpet floor, your knees burning from the friction. Once you were right behind Josh’s phone, you shot him a quick glare, earning a laugh from him. You fell on all fours, slowly crawling next to his legs and towards the front of the door.
What you both hadn’t realized was how low the camera was, as you could see a bright red hood slowly traveling behind him. Josh gave no attention to it, hoping no one would notice and focus on him. It was until questions from his fans began to flood in. Everyone could see you, especially once you reached the door. Your upper body was clearly visible, though only showing your backside.
Josh sighed, laughing quietly to himself once he realized the situation. He rested his guitar on the floor, stretching his body out before calling out for you.
“Y/N, the plan failed. Come here.”
Great.
You stood up, smoothing out your jeans and releasing the hoodie from your head. He turned in his chair, opening his arms out to you. You sat on his lap, engulfing him in a hug and whispering a low “sorry” in his ear.
He spun back around and showed your face completely on camera. You couldn’t hide the burning feeling building up from your legs to the tip of your nose.
“This is Y/N. She’s been my girlfriend for a few months. Say hi.”
You shyly waved at the camera, losing all confidence you had earlier. You averted your eyes from the amount of comments rushing in, you didn’t know if you could handle what they thought about you right now.
“I’m sorry for keeping secrets from you guys, but we weren’t sure when we would be ready to tell you. But I hope you all love her as much as I do.” He turned to face you, planting a small kiss to your cheek.
“As much as I would love to be here, the guy with our food might leave if I don’t run down to get it.” You giggled.
He laughed, reaching up to cup your cheek and kiss your lips. As brief as it was, you still melted in his arms. It almost made you forget the thousands of people all watching you live.
“Go, we’ll be waiting for you.”
You jumped up from his lap and ran to the door. You smiled to yourself the whole trip down to meet the food deliverer, feeling enlightened from not having to sneak around anymore.
A/N - next update will be monday !! it might be twenty dollar baby but im not too sure yet . anyways , hope u guys liked it ((: love y’all xx

boy next door ☆ joshua bassett
Tumblr media
y/n meets the boy next door, who has a different way of welcoming you to the town
warnings: fluff, steamy writing
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Your phone barely clutched to your shoulder, gradually slipping from the pressure of your right cheek. Your hands would have been a nice thing to have at the moment, if it weren’t already carrying two heavy cardboard boxes that barely let you see the door to your new apartment.
It was your parents who helped you find your own place to live. You stayed with them for a year after high school as you suffered to balance a part-time job and studying miles away from your parents’ house. Fortunately, a large apartment that didn’t have unreasonable rent and stationed fairly close to your school would be discovered by your father.
The apartment was beautiful. Dark brick exterior with about 15 stories, each lined with balconies extended past large windows from each room. Bushes fenced the perimeter of the building, some sprouting bright flowers from the spring. Inside was simple, clean, sleek. Rows of mailboxes greeted the entrance, and a marble desk sat in the center with lovely woman greeting every trip from your car to your room.
Moving out on your own was never easy. You weren’t worried about being alone all the time and have to worry about intruders breaking into your home, at least not all the time. Having to make new friends, that was the issue. Sure, you could invite your friends who lived at least an hour drive away from you, but you would eventually have to be an adult and introduce yourself to other people.
“Yeah, Mom, I know. Yeah- I know. Yes, yes, ok Mom. Got it, I will. Yea- love you too. Ok, bye now.”
You heaved, both from the amount of work it took to finish talking to your mother and the mountains of steep, tile staircases you hide to endure. You had also forgotten until your last journey from the car that there was an elevator parallel to the staircase you have been marching up the past 10 minutes. Luckily, you lived on the fifth floor, so not much harm done.
Your phone had been on its last grasp, struggling to keep its hold on the burning skin from your cheeks and the smooth fabric of your shirt. The tension in your neck continued to grow the more you held the uncomfortable position, almost as if it were about to snap.
“Need help, ma’am?”
The sudden male voice grazed over the gentle skin on the back of your neck, startling you and jolting your body. You managed to maintain your clutch on the boxes, but your phone had slipped off of your shoulder.
You squeezed your eyes shut, anticipating a crash and hundreds of new cracks on its screen. After about ten seconds, the halls remained silent. Confusion took over, so you pryed your eyes open to wonder where your phone had gone.
“Here, let me help you.”
From the corner of your eyes, a figure walked from behind you to your front, grabbing one of the heavy boxes and setting it down on the floor beside him. You sighed in relief, the feeling of exhaustion replaced by alleviation. You placed the package you still had down on the tile, stretching your arms from the soreness building up.
“Thank you so much, you have no idea how much that helped me.” You smiled.
Your smile turned into awe once you fully took in the boy in front of you. He had fair skin, hints of pink blossoming from his cheeks to his nose and parts of his chin. His eyes were dark brown, like a cup of coffee you endulge in as much as you could. Loose brown curls framed his head, you didn’t have to feel it to know it was soft. It was as if you found the definition of the perfect man.
“No problem. I caught your phone, by the way.”
He held out his hand that gripped your phone. You gave him a smile, hoping you didn’t show too much of your flustered appearance. You reached for your phone, barely touching the tips of his fingers. That little interaction sent a wave of shivers through your skin.
“Thank you, you’ve been so helpful today.”
“Well, I’ve been hearing a pretty voice walk back and forth through these halls so I figured I would help. Nice to know the lady with the pretty voice and the equally as pretty face lives across from me.” He complimented. “Sorry for not getting you a welcoming present.”
Your head felt like it was burning. He managed to sweep you off your feet and you didn’t even know his name.
“I’m so rude. I never got your name.” You took the phone from his hand and shoved it in your back pocket.
“I’m Joshua, but you can call me Josh.” He offered his hand once more for you to shake.
You gratefully held his hand, instantly noticing how soft and warm it was in yours. His eyes shifted from you to your hands, and his grip tightened by the slightest. You didn’t mind, you could have stayed like that forever.
“Y/N.”
“I like that.” He mumbled.
This boy was so hypnotizing. Everything about the way he looked at you to the small grin on his face and the way he stood taller than you captured you. He’s made you forget all your priorities, like how you just moved.
You shook your head, realizing you would only waste more time to completely unpack your apartment by staying with Josh. You let go of his hand, internally kicking yourself for wanting to do anything but stare at this boy.
“I should really unpack, I wouldn’t want to sleep on the floor tonight. Thank you, for helping me.”
You began to pick up the forgotten box. You felt him watch the way you kneeled down to get a stronger grasp on the cardboard.
“I could help you, if you want.”
You turned around to look at up him once more. He reached for your hands, gently placing his on top of yours to get a hold of the box.
“I have nothing to do today, anyways.”
You laughed, shaking your head at his nervous smile. Yanking the box and your hands out of his, you turned around opened the door to your apartment you left unlocked.
“Come on, pretty boy. There’s a box on the floor.”
➢➣ ➢➣
You two managed to finish unpacking the rest of the boxes from your car. Yesterday, your dad had helped bring in the mattress of your bed, the couch, and some of the tables and desks you had. Today was just to furnish the rest of the house with smaller appliances and other decorations.
In the three hours you spent with each other, you and Josh had become friends. While arranging your clothes in your closet, he would play around with the teddy bear from your mother or ask you questions about each photo you hung on your wall.
“So what do you do for a living?” Josh wondered.
You sat on top of the glass counter in your kitchen, your back pressed against the dark oak cabinets. Josh stood across from you, leaning against the surface. He looked at you with focus, wanting to know more about yourself.
“I work part-time at a cafe, but I’m also studying at college.”
“Looks like I’ll be stopping by the cafe more often.”
You giggled, hiding your blushing face with your hair. “What about you?”
“I’m an actor.”
You squinted your eyes. His smile grew wider at your reaction. Your head clicked, just as you remembered the memories of your friends screaming over a boy on a new tv show. You never gave interest, you didn’t watch tv as much. The name they screamed stuck with you, however. You didn’t get to see what he looked like, just that he was young, attractive, and has “the voice of a god.”
“Joshua Bassett?”
He laughed, pushing himself off the counter to slowly step up to you. “Yeah?”
“Like the guy from that one Disney show?”
“Yes?”
“As in, the guy my friends won’t shut up about?”
“I suppose.”
You let your head roll back, hitting the cabinets as you closed your eyes. Embarrassment overcame you. How could you have gone this long without know who he really was?
“I’m an idiot.”
“Nah, you’re just cute.” He complimented.
He was now only a few feet away from you. His eyes wandered around your body, making you feel a sudden feeling of confidence. Maybe your feelings weren’t one-sided.
“Does being an actor change how you feel about me?”
You slid off the counter, jumping onto the wooden floor beneath you. Your hands found there way inside the back pockets of your jeans. By now, his chest gently grazed yours as he stood directly in front of you.
“I don’t know, maybe I should ask for your autograph and get a picture with you. It would make my friends really jealous.”
You watched him let out a small laugh. His hands gripped the counter on either side of you, trapping you between him. Your faces were close, yet not enough to feel any excitement.
“Would you want that?” He asked lowly.
“Consider it a welcome present.”
“I have a better idea.”
His lips found yours for a soft, slow kiss. You quickly cupped his face, loving the way your lips molded together so perfectly. You didn’t realize how much you have wanted this until now. The feeling of his hands at your hips, holding you in a safe and comforting way felt so right. You pulled away, slowly opening your eyes to see his wide open as you continued to hold his head in your hands.
You smashed your lips back onto his, moving your hands to his hair and gripping it tightly between your fingers. He moved his hands to your butt, lifting you up. You wrapped your legs around his waist, not breaking the kiss as he cautiously found his way to the couch not too far away from your kitchen.
Gently, he set you down so your back would softly rest on the cushions and your head would lay on the small pillows. His body was in between your legs that were still wrapped around him. His lips traveled down, leaving warm kisses from your cheek to your collarbone. You hummed in response, pleasure fogging up your head. There was a fire in his touch, one that you had never felt with any of your past partners. He made you feel special, like you were his. You didn’t mind, being held by him, feeling his lips capture every part of your neck was something you could get used to. He began to suck in a gentle spot under your ear, earning a quiet moan escape your lips automatically. You grabbed his chin and brought his face back up, continuing your make out session. His hands traveled to the waistband of your jeans, beginning to untuck your shirt.
You pulled away softly, earning a worried reaction from him. You had just reaIized what you had been doing, how quickly a nice conversation turned into a hookup. It didn’t bother you so much, but you wanted to know what he felt.
“Sorry, I’m moving a little too fast.” He whispered, regret laced in his words.
You pecked his lips reassuringly, making him eagerly pull you back into another kiss. You gave him a gentle smile, making him feel better.
“I like you, Josh. You’re sweet.”
“Can I take you out then?”
“You could take me to my room.”
His smile intensified, kissing you once more. Lifting you up, you laughed at how excited the boy next door was to be with you. He looked up at you, bringing another kiss to your lips.
“Deal.”

warnings: swearing, angst, unedited
part I , part II , part III
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
You huffed, drained from the countless assignments given by each of your teachers. Each period dragged on longer than the last, agonizing torture from listening to different lessons about subjects that wouldn’t click in your head. Your head clouded with other thoughts, none about mathematical formulas.
As pathetic as it may seem, you couldn’t get him out of your head. Ricky was so intoxicating, so enduring. He captured you completely, he could ask you to jump in his car and ride all the way across the country with him and you would pack your bag in a heartbeat. His feelings took you over by surprise, like a planned attack that you fell for. Now here you were, never even thinking of having a boyfriend in high school, swoon over some boy that you would throw paper balls at during each period to entertain yourself throughout the school year.
All that, and more, took over your brain the entire day. It didn’t help that he didn’t show up today because of a doctor’s appointment, so you were left to wonder if he would have been with you during lunch, or if you would still sneak out in the theatre with Carlos like you always had.
You shook your head, putting away your last textbook in your locker and filed through your notebooks to find your folder for your homework. Zipping up your backpack shut, you threw it over one of your shoulders, sinking in slightly over the weight that overcame your restless figure.
The halls were now cleared out, leaving you and maybe two other students alone in the hushed school. The rustic door of your locker being shut echoed through the corridors, and soon cold hands blocked out your vision. Normally you would have jumped in the slightest at such a sudden change, but you were entirely done with the day that you just stood up straight.
“Guess who?” A familiar voice whispered in your ears.
As if you had been shot with a sudden burst of energy, your lips grew wider at the realization of who was behind you.
You released the fingers that covered your eyes and swiftly turned around. None other than Ricky Bowen, his signature smile across his face and holding his arms out for you to jump in.
“I’ve missed you all day. I had no one to bother during class.” You complained, burying your head in the crook of his neck. His scent attacked your nose, relieving your past stress. Your fingers combed through his curly hair, digging in tighter the more he squeezed your torso in his arms.
“You thought you had a boring day? I had to sit in a doctor’s office for an hour until he came in just to tell me that I’ve grown so much.”
You let out a breathy laugh, holding his warm face in your palms. His dark eyes reflected from the hallway lights, showing a lighter hue than usual. You could admire his face for days and still be yearning for more of him.
“I have to go to rehearsal soon, but I promise I’ll try and hang out with you today, sound good?”
“Anything with you sounds good.”
“Anything?” He teased, digging his fingers into your waist.
Ricky wasted no time in attaching his lips to yours for a long awaited kiss. You let go of one hand to straighten out beside you, letting the strap of your backpack slide down your arm and crash on the floor. He slowly backed you up against the cold locker doors, making sure not to clash your head. You veered your hands down his neck to his chest, snagging fistfuls of his shirt in your palms. He deepened your kiss, grazing his tongue on your bottom lip, begging for an entry. You whimpered as he took your lip, tugging it in between his teeth.
“Wow, Ricky, you’re just the asshole I thought you would be.”
You tore yourself away from Ricky immediately, springing at the sudden presence behind him. He shifted his body in annoyance, rolling his head to the ceiling and squeezing his eyes shut as he promptly recognized the voice yelling for him.
“What do you want, Kourtney?” He groaned, shoving his closed fists inside the pockets in his jeans.
The enraged, curly-haired girl flicked her tongue across her teeth, almost like a tiger ready to pounce its prey. She scoffed, rolling her eyes to the back of her head, “Miss Jenn told me to come looking for you, you’re already late. I see you’ve already found your next victim.”
You squinted your eyes at her remark. Kourtney was never one to back down from defending her friends, especially to Nini. She glimpsed at you, softening her eyes once she found out who Ricky’s “victim” was.
“Y/N, watch out for this one. He’ll make you feel special then completely turn on you the next day.” She warned, eyeing Ricky up and down before stomping on her heels back down the bare halls.
Thoughts raced through your head, spinning countless laps of concern and puzzlement. You and Kourtney had never formally met, just the usual smile and wave from passing by classrooms or the cafeteria. Now she’s accusing Ricky of being nothing more than a snake. He told you every detail of his breakup, up to the time Nini made the post and the journey back to his house afterwards. How differently did everyone take their breakup?
He turned back sheepishly, trying to uphold a strong demeanor as to not look defeated. His hands slid out of his pockets and hugged at his sides. His lips twitched, along with the shift of stance from one leg to the other.
“Sorry that you had to witness that. I promise what she said wasn’t true.”
You pushed yourself up from the cold lockers and bent down to pick up your forgotten backpack. You caressed his chin, shivering at the familiar contact.
“I trust you. I know you aren’t as bad a person as Kourtney might think you are.”
His eyes dropped from yours, guilt and regret overtaking his mood. The more the hours drag on, it has felt like a rock on his shoulder he’s had to carry. Even looking at you, he imagines ‘shame’ written across her forehead to remind him of everything he should feel during these shared moments with you. Now you believe him, you believe all the words he has said to you like lyrics to a song.
“You don’t understand how much I don’t deserve you, seriously.” Ricky’s voice was soft, almost a whisper.
You reached up, standing taller on your feet, to press your lips gently on his one last time before he was urged to attend his rehearsal.

“When I see your face,”
Your head shot up from your notebook, hearing a familiar song and voice. You closed the book, pushing yourself out of your cushion chair and sprinting towards your door.
Your mom, who also came out of her room from hearing the music, was almost trampled by your sudden energy as you pushed past her as safely but as urgently as possible. Once through the hall, you found the front door and squeezed the door handle. His voice was now so close to you, goosebumps covered your skin entirely in a matter of seconds.
Taking in a deep breath, you swung the door open to see the boy you had been missing to be with. He held his guitar around him, his hair messy and a giddy smile across his cheeks as he sang. Who would have thought that someone could look as gorgeous as he did right now.
“And when you smile,
the whole world stops and stares for a while.
‘Cause girl you’re amazing,
Just the way you are.”
Ricky strung the last chord of the song, vibrating his fingers along the strings to let the note ring out as much as it could.
Burning tears that were forcefully held back had fought to come out, leaving trails along your pink tinted cheeks. The now ruined sleeve of your sweatshirt covered your lips, maintaing all of the whimpers and squeals that left your tongue.
He set down the guitar strapped around him and left it to stand by the brick wall of next to your front door. The last worry on his mind was if the instrument slipped off the stone and crashed into the bushes, leaving for a messy and painful recovery, which it seemed was about to happen.
“You’re absolutely insane.” You gasped out, steadying your breath.
“You drive me absolutely insane. I never thought that someone could make me feel the way you do. I feel so free whenever you’re around and I never want that feeling to end. You’re just so perfect in every way.”
“What are you doing, Ricky?”
“I guess what I’m trying to say is, will you be my girlfriend, Y/N?” He asked, bringing out a small velvet box and opening it to reveal a gold necklace with the letter “R” on it.
You nodded fiercely, wrapping your arms tightly around his neck and jumping onto him. He expertly grabbed under your thighs and held you up, careful not to fall back too far behind him so you would both tumble on the concrete. Your wailing could not be stopped by this point, and neither could the silent cries coming from him.
The turning of your lips and dazy feeling in your head returned once you parked by the school. Just the thought of being able to see Ricky did so much to you, butterflies was an understatement. The engine of your car came to a hault once you removed your keys. You had told Carlos that you would pick him up after his practice, which would ultimately leading to another date with Ricky.
After stepping out of the car, you slammed the burning car door shut. The wake of summer had just begun, meaning your compact and black-colored car just became the worst choice you could make when choosing a used vehicle at the dealership.
You yanked the door of the school open, already remembering the feeling of pressure and disappointment of teachers and faculty the building brings you. Rolling your eyes, you tread down the now completely deserted halls. Why couldn’t it be like this earlier? You twirled the ring of your car keys on your finger, humming to various melodies of songs Ricky introduced you to in a custom playlist he produced just for you.
A spam of buzzing from your phone resting in your hoodie pouch erupted. You grinned, knowing the only person to ever annoy you with texts was your best friend.

you would not believe what’s going on right now !!!!
nini and ej just had the biggest fight !! while singing !!!
omg ricky and nini are talking to each other now what the fuck
she looks sad ? what could they even be talking about ?
nvm she’s smiling again does she not know u and ricky are a thing ?
You stared at the messages blankly. His rambling almost threw you off completely, nearly distracting you of the fact that Ricky and Nini were talking alone. Why would she even want to talk to him again? Two days ago she didn’t even want to look at him?
You shook your head, hoping you could ignore the churning in your stomach. You felt volcanoes erupting inside you, burning your skin with uncertainty, jealousy, fear. You had no reason to feel any of those things, but the itching of wanting to know more, though not in your place, left a stinging sense to your skin. You held the charm hanging around your neck, fiddling with it between your fingers.
Two more buzzes, one not from Carlos, brought a more painful suspicion to your brain.

ricky and big red just ran off
Ricky 💕
Can u meet me in the library in like 5 minutes? There’s something I have to tell u
➢➣ ➢➣
“Ok, what’s up with you? Why do we have to go to the library to talk?” Big Red complained as he was forcefully pushed through countless wooden shelves of textbooks and stories.
The library had already been closed, the lights that weren’t already losing its power had been shut off and no irritable librarian could be seen to alert the principle. Although, no locked door could get past a tense Ricky so long as he had a bobby pin.
Ricky threw the $20 bill that was given to him no less than 10 minutes ago towards his friend. “Take it back, call me a bitch, tell everyone that I’m a sore loser. I don’t care anymore. I can’t keep up with this bet. It’s not fair to Y/N.”
Ricky’s eyes grew red, along with his face. His body felt like it was given five cups of caffeine, and then punched with another five energy drinks. The guilt was equally shown with jitters of having to face you.
“Ok, dude. You need to chill. What’s wrong?” Red wondered, picking up the neglected bill.
“Nini just talked to me for the first time. She actually had a conversation with me. She said sorry to me when I was being the asshole to her. You were right, too. She broke up with EJ because she felt wrong for moving on so fast. She still likes me!
“And you know what sucks? You picked Y/N. Why did it have to be Y/N? You picked her for this stupid fucking bet to get a girlfriend in a week. I’ve been such a complete dick, I’m a liar. Y/N believes that I’m this perfect guy that could do her no wrong but I’ve done everything but that. All for what? $20!”
The faint sound of the library door opening didn’t get the attention of the two boys. Ricky was far too lost in his head for thinking of you and Red grew more concerned for his friend.
“Do you like Y/N?” Red asked hastily.
Ricky scratched at his head furiously, tearing his nails through his scalp. He rested his hands behind his neck, staring at the ceiling as if there would be some sort of guidance written across the roof.
“No.”
Your throat ached, not able to let out even a squeak. The pounding in your head from earlier strengthened, making you feel dizzy. The ticking from the clock’s hands irked you second by second. Time spun around you, suddenly you were lost.
“I don’t like her!” Ricky ached.
Suddenly your mind blanked out. Every memory and shared moment with the boy twisted in your head. It was as if a truck ran directly into you, and then over and over again until you were limp on the ground.
“I lo-”
You stumbled back, nearly tripping over a chair beside you. The sound was loud enough for the boys to turn around, eyes widening as they found you standing a few feet away from them.
You gripped at the necklace, breaking the frail chain from around your neck. The tightening of your throat and the stinging of the metal didn’t bother you as it snapped. You threw the jewelry on the old, torn carpet, giving it one last glance.
Ricky tried to call for you, but you could do nothing but turn around and run.
You pushed open the door with your body, letting all the agitation decide what you were going to do. You nearly tripped as you rushed through the school, barely ramming yourself into the endless corridors. It was amazing how much you could run while your legs started to give up on you. From the waist down, you felt yourself begin to shake. You could barely catch your breath and the dehydration from crying gave a massive migraine. Your mouth was dry, only letting out whispers of weeping.
Soon enough your feet finally gave up, making you fall on the cold tile floor. Your hands held you from smashing your head to the ground, but you could do nothing besides letting all of your anguish.
“They were right about him.”
