It’s day three of BMPicADayMay22 and this theme was a little challenging for me!

BlackMilk has a lot of art based pieces which all look amazing but it isn’t really my style. I do own a few artists pieces but I decided to go a different direction with this theme.

I thought about what would be something I would wear to an art gallery/museum for an evening and this dress is what popped into my head! It’s this gorgeous black velvet midi length dress which I just adore! It’s super flattering and comfy to wear, and also has a bit more of a “mature” look to it. Styling this dress is pretty easy, it can be either dressed up or down, more “normal” or as alternative as you would like! For this theme I decided to style it with my Crazy Plant Lady tie front tee as it really made the colours pop and give it that more “artsy” feeling.

BMPicADayMay22 Day 2!

This is such a fun colour combo which was completely accidental! I had my first ever silks class on Friday and decided to use my BM Space Tentacles HWMF leggings (which were perfect!) and a crop top. Since it was quite cold I needed a jumper, so I threw on my brand new (still had the tags on it) BM Galaxy Melt Hoodie Sweater, which is so comfy and warm! 🥰

I thought styling my new hoodie was going to be difficult as I mainly wear pastels but it suited these leggings so much I would happily wear this out to the shops! Maybe I should play around with this hoodie some more 🤔

First Piece!

Today is day one of BMPicADayMay!

The theme for today is First Piece, which is always a fun story to tell!

This gorgeous purple galaxy skater skirt is my first piece and I actually found it in an op shop! I was 17/18 and had never heard of the brand before, just saw this super awesome skirt for $7 so I nabbed it! It wasn’t until 3-4 years later I actually heard of the brand from someone else and realised it was a huge Australian based company that made heaps of really cool items of clothing!

Fast forward 4 ish years later and I now own over 200 items of BM 😮 Some of it is gifted, some still have tags as I only take the tags off after my first time wearing them (or they’re for modelling so I resell 🤫) or it’s stuff that I’ve bought and just loved and wear it constantly! (My favourite stuff is the shorts, long overalls and the tie front tees!)

It’s that time again!

BMPicADayMay is back for 2022! This is a little challenge where you have to make an outfit that fits the days theme with BlackMilk Clothing

I have participated in this challenge for the past 3 years but I’ve only been able to complete it once due to my life being hectic 😞

I’m hoping that this year I’ll be able to complete this month and get to create some awesome outfits! This is something that I very much enjoy doing and can easily spend hours doing! 😁

Why don’t I always style how I want to?

Well, there’s a lot of factors that go into it.

For one, I have adhd and touch is a huge sensory issue for me, which makes styling hard sometimes 😞 Sometimes I’ll have this super cute outfit on but my brain goes “get this off right now” and I get all anxious and won’t feel better until I’ve changed into loose, comfy clothing 😅 If this happens when I’m out and can’t immediately change I will just start taking accessories off until I feel at a low uncomfortable feeling. I’m managing this by styling myself with all the accessories at home and trying to wear it for as long as I can. This makes it so then I get used to the feeling of wearing them more often and can last longer when I’m out. 😁

Another thing is, it is just way to hot right now 😭 It’s currently the middle of Australian summer which means the temperature doesn’t go below 30°C until 9pm (this is 86°F). So right now I’m just trying to focus on being at a comfortable temperature at home and while I’m out because there’s nothing worse than overheating and being dehydrated 😅

I also struggle with time management so that’s why sometimes I forget to post, like how I haven’t posted an outfit since the 6th and it’s now the 14th 😅 Sometimes finding the motivation to do a thing can be hard so I need to find more reasonable goals for this blog, maybe making a post every second day and an outfit of the week video? I’ll figure it out but I am wanting to be more active here so it’s just taking time to learn what I can manage right now ☺️

January 6th 2022

Today was my first shoot of the year! I went with a boho vibe as it was at the beach, and I am so glad I went with this dress! It was perfect in the wind and ocean 😍

About the Outfit

I managed to score this adorable piece secondhand! It’s originally from Forever New, it’s perfect for that summer boho vibe ☺️ I normally struggle to find boho items that suit me and my aesthetic but this was the perfect opportunity to wear this dress!

Makeup

I went with a super minimalist makeup look! 😮 I had done a soft brown with pink on the lid, but I added a champagne coloured shimmer onto the pink and it was the perfect combo for a low key look! 😍 As I was going to the beach and the theme wasn’t my usual alternative style I didn’t add my across the nose blush/freckles, which was weird to me as I’ve been doing that often! 😁

Will I do this look again? Possibly! I’ll be keeping the eyeshadow in mind for other low key shoots and I may try styling the dress differently 😁 I was really happy with this look and from the sneak peaks I’ve received it was perfect!

January 5th 2022

Today was fun! I got to wear my Tigger shorts, which is something I don’t wear often due to being hard to style 😭 But aren’t they just tiggerific?? 😍 Today was just another chill one with my partner and we played our DnD campaign with our friends (omg the shenanigans our characters get up to!), I did some crafting for a photo shoot I have coming up and just relaxed due to having a shoot tomorrow ☺️

About the Outfit

Both items that I’m wearing comes from BlackMilk Clothing, their Tigger cuffed shorts and their Creepy Cute tie front tee. I went with the black and white top because I really wanted Tigger to be the eye catching pattern. These are both items that I don’t wear often enough so I’m very glad I got to style them together and they worked! I like wearing busy patterns a lot of the time but I also understand they can be a bit much sometimes. Busy patterns aren’t for everyone and they don’t always work with the style you’re going for. So when I do get the opportunity to style them I feel like I’ve uncovered a secret 😁

Would I wear this again? More than likely! It would be fun to style them a bit more and dress them up a bit but it’s also almost 40°C today and it’s just way to hot for over the top styling 😭 Curse Australian summer 😭

January 4th 2022

Today I decided to style a skirt that I’ve never worn before (still has its tags!) Boho isn’t a style I always suit but I can make it work but I think the colours of this skirt isn’t working 100% 😕 Maybe I’ll just keep the skirt for modelling purposes ☺️

About the Outfit

The skirt is from BlackMilk Clothing which I managed to find secondhand with tags! Its such a cute boho print that I just had to have it but without the matching crop I’m not 100% sure how often I would wear this skirt 😞 Maybe I’ll sell it or just keep it for modelling purposes? 🤔 The crop top is from Ally which I had managed to find at their outlet store for a few bucks! I love this top and it gives everything a cute boho vibe 🌸 I tried to tie in the boho vibe with a cute white flower crown and a daisy chain tattoo choker necklace ☺️

Would I wear this again? Probably not as I’m not 100% sold on this outfit but it was fun to at least try to style the skirt! ☺️

January 3rd 2022

Another super casual and comfy outfit for the day! 😁 Today’s been super nice! I did some morning yoga, I went to the beach and collected some shells, now I’ve been spending the day relaxing in this super comfortable oversized tee! ☺️

About the Outfit

This is another Black Milk Clothing item (can you tell I love their stuff? 😂) that I bought last year, it’s their Melancholy Ghost Giant Tee, and it is giant! They only came out with size Small and Large, size Small being everything from XXS - S, and Large being size M - XXL. Personally I found this an interesting choice as I own one of their oversized tops in a S and I wish I had of sized down but this top didn’t allow me to size down. At first I was considering getting it tailored to fit me better but I’ve learned to love the oversized top! It’s great for days of just lounging around ☺️

I would love to style this properly someday but it’s going to be interesting as I wouldn’t want to distort the print too much or the risk of scratching the ghost off the shirt 😞 Usually I leave this as is with some thigh highs if I’m cold ☺️

January 2nd 2022

Can you tell that I love this print? 😂 Today’s outfit was just a super casual one as all I was doing was chilling at my partners before I went home 🥰

About this Outfit

These shorts are probably my favourite shorts that I own! They’re Black Milk Clothing’s Plaid Baby Pastel Cuffed Shorts and they’re one of my first few items that I bought on their site! The top is also from BM and it’s the same print as yesterday’s, Hauntingly Cute but it’s in their Tie Front Tee style, which is my favourite casual/comfy crop tops! I managed to get this one during their Halloween release last year.

Styling

Styling this outfit wasn’t too difficult as the colours compliment each other very nicely, especially when paired with my flower crown headband to tie in the pastels a little more. This was a super casual fit for a warm summers day ☺️

January 1st 2022

First day of the year was an interesting one! Slept in until 1pm, my friends and I drove back to my partners and then I just hyper focused on Animal Crossing and also bought Ori and the Will of the Wisps 😁

About and Styling the Outfit

These overalls are one of my favourite spoopy items! (I may have this print in multiple items of clothing 🤫 ) These are Black Milk Clothing’s short overalls in the print Hauntingly Cute, and aren’t they just?? 😁

Styling these I’ve always had a little trouble of just defaulting to a white crop top but I wanted to try switching it up with my adorable colour block crop! I chose this top due to the purple matching the snake, and the blue matched some parts of the bat. 😍 To make this a bit more accessorised I dug out my cat bat garters to attach to my knee high fishnets, I probably could of added a fishnet top as well but it was a little warm so I didn’t want to layer. 😅 Of course I had to add my iconic flower crown, it just helps tie in the pastels 😁 Plus my tattoo choker with a cross helps give anything a bit of an alternative attitude 🖤

Will I wear this again? Most likely! Next time if it isn’t to warm I’ll add my fishnet top underneath and my pentacle cardigan ✨

Outfits of the Week! ✨

This was so much fun to make! Making an outfit every day and filming it is definitely something I want to do from now on! Maybe for the new year I’ll start by making an outfit everyday, doing a small post about each outfit! Then at the end of the week I’ll make a little video of them, and at the end of the month I’ll make a photo collage of them 😁

The Days Outfit

Monday - on Monday I wore this out to the shops and around the house.

Tuesday - I wore this outfit around the house, just figuring out a way for how it could be styled.

Wednesday - It was quite warm that day so I went with a super casual outfit just to wear to my partners ☺️

Thursday - wore this to my exercise class. It was still getting quite cool at night so I needed pants for that 😅

Friday - Friday was just a day at home playing Animal Crossing 🥰 It was surprisingly cold so I needed to put on my leg and arm warmers plus a jumper!

Saturday - it was the night of my pole showcase! I was in my first performance ever as a pixie and it went amazingly! 🥰✨

Sunday - I went with my partner to our friend groups Christmas! ✨ We all did a secret Santa and it was fun to pretend I didn’t know what my persons gift was 😂

Christmas Means Tartan, Right?

Isn’t this jumpsuit just amazing?? It’s tartan, it has bows to make the squares look like Christmas presents, and it doesn’t touch the floor! 😍 I always struggle with jumpsuits being way to big on me but this was meant to be 3/4 so that means it’s ankle ish length on me! 😂

About the Outfit

I got this jumpsuit from Black Milk Clothings Christmas release last month and I love it so much! It’s called Tartan Ribbon Lounge Jumpsuit, and it’s definitely named appropriately for being a nice lounging jumpsuit! It also has a matching tie belt which I will have fun playing around with!

Styling

This was interesting to style as I wasn’t sure if it would match my hair but it somehow worked! I focused mostly on black accessories to really show the pattern of the jumpsuit. Black heeled boots gave it that bit of a fancier look, black mini fishnet gloves and tattoo choker to have that alternative feel, and a black headband to help fit my hair into the outfit.

Isn’t that bag just the cutest? It matched perfectly and I can’t believe I almost donated it years ago! I am so glad I had kept it! It may be small but it was the perfect size for my phone and lipstick for a night out 😍

I would love to style this piece again and figure out more ways to wear the tie! Maybe a neck tie, or even as a hair tie? The possibilities are endless!

Casual Fit ✨

🌸About The Outfit🌸

These overalls are from Black Milk Clothing’s Sanrio release they had in 2019! They are My Melody Strawberry Fields short overalls and they so cute! I wear these a lot in spring and summer just because the colours suit those seasons and it’s warm enough to wear shorts!

🌸Styling🌸

I wanted to style them in a mostly pink aesthetic with a hint of black, as that’s the aesthetic mood I was that day. It was a bit chilly this day so I wanted to rug up but not over the top, so I added my adorable pastel pink knit jumper from Valley Girl and to break up the pink a little I put on my Black Milk pastel purple Sporty Stripe stockings, which are so comfy and warm

Accessories were of course my iconic pastel rainbow flower headband, a black tattoo necklace which tied in my black fishnet gloves, two small kandi bracelets (one on each wrist) and pink high top converse.

This was such a cute outfit and I would 100% wear this again! It was nice and cozy but not stifling, super cute and pink! ☺️

Wedding Reception 💖

I have been wanting to wear this set for months and isn’t it just divine?? 😍

About The Outfit

This burned velvet with gold foil is something I haven’t seen before and I absolutely adore it! The texture and the detailing is stunning! This is from Black Milk Clothing and the set is their Burned Velvet Sun and Moon Split Skirt and Long Sleeve Crop! Originally I had the dress due to missing out on the set (it sold out immediately!) so when I got the chance at their mid year museum release I was ecstatic!! 😁

✨Styling✨

This was very fun to style! I gathered all the sun and moon items I owned and they just worked so well! I added these adorable resin moon and star hair clips which matched my hair as they were pink and blue, with glitter of course! The moon necklace I’m wearing was actually my first gifted item! It was from Nightmare Hive and it’s the best necklace! I love using it as a headband for certain looks 😉 To further match the black I added my moon and chain belt which is probably the best purchase I’ve made! It’s such an awesome styling belt and works with so many looks! It also matched perfectly with my black boots with silver buckles and I also wore two black garters with silver hearts which peaked through the two splits ✨

Would I wear this again? Yes but maybe styled a bit differently. Given the time frame I had I’m very pleased with how it came out but given more time I would like to style it with more gold and purple. Maybe I could do that for a photo shoot sometime 🤔

About the Outfit

I absolutely adore this monochromatic scheme I played with! Black and white isn’t a combo I usually wear but I really wanted to wear this adorable dress I got in my clothes swap!

Styling

The dress is originally from Factorie and I love it! It’s thin and lightweight, perfect for these summer days, and the monochromatic tartan is super cute! It’s a little baggy without a belt and my white heart belt was the perfect addition! Plus the jacket was perfect! It complemented the style I was going for and it was nice for that bit of cold wind we had! (Would you believe that I’ve owned this jacket for 10 years??) Add some fishnet knee high stockings/gloves, garters, and Doc Martens and it gives off a cute punk vibe ✨ Because of my pink hair I decided to make it a little bit pastel punk so I added some colourful socks (they have cute coffee cups on them!), a pink fishnet glove and my iconic pastel flower headband 😍

Will I wear this again? 100%! It’s such a cute summer picnic vibe but still in my alternative style! In autumn/spring I’ll more than likely use stockings instead of fishnets, add some white leg warmers, a warmer jacket and it’ll be perfect for those colder days!

October 3rd

“BOO!”

Isn’t this ghost dress absolutely adorable?? It’s Black Milks “Ghosties Evil Mini Tee Dress” and this cut of dress is the perfect casual/comfy dress! 😍

I love this cut due to the fact that it’s super comfy to lounge around in and still looks fashionable styled correctly. (Of course there’s nothing wrong with wearing it without accessories if you’re just wanting to be casual!)

I styled this with a belt with chains as I wanted to accentuate my waist a bit more, fishnet thigh highs for the more gothic look and of course my pastel headband and tattoo choker for little accessories. My glitter docs also gave it that gothic but also cute vibe that I was going for.

I highly recommend anyone wanting this style of dress to go for it! These can be dressed up or down, are super comfortable and can be worn all times of the year (depending on how you style it)
