Evaluation
I mostly felt motivated within this unit due to my interest in giving design purpose through social issues, for example using creativity to spread awareness or drive change. I ensured that my research was elaborate and used both creative sources and news stories to inform my decisions.
At the start of the project, I was more focused on raising awareness to those who are unaware of social issues, which eventually changed into a project about pushing those who are interested in these social issues.
Personally, I don’t think I managed my time very well as I wasn’t able to complete all of the components of the protest pack that I had hoped for, therefore had to simplify my list of outcomes.
I was keen to receive any feedback within the project, particularly from my peers as they are the audience that my pack aims to appeal to the most.
I think I would benefit as a designer to be more experimental in the earlier stages of my project as it would encourage me to exit my comfort zone and practice new skills.
This unit of study has taught me a lot about the topic of protest, historical events and figures that relate to this and also lots about what people are interested and passionate about.
The main improvement I would make to my project would be to add more outcomes to the pack to make it feel like more of a collection and more engaging.

FMP: Cutting the Stencils
This was a much longer task than I anticipated as I decided to hand-cut all of the letters instead of laser-cutting them. I was pleased with the outcomes however think it would be more of a professional standard if laser cut.

FMP: Test Printing
More trial prints for the stencils, there were numerous printing issues with ink running out however I did confirm that the adjusted size of the document was much more appropriate and easier for use.

FMP: Play Test & Error
I play tested the game with my peers and luckily noticed that there was an error with one of the cards. I had accidentally duplicated ‘GO TO Q3′ so I quickly amended this and reprinted the card.
I also ended up printing them rectangular rather than with curved edges as it felt more consisted with the A-Z stencil sheets.

FMP: A-Z Stencil Sheet Test Prints
After the first trial print, I realised my document was far too small so decided to increase the dimensions by 150% to create something more usable and functional as a stencil.

I wanted to end the sheets with the entire typeface to summarise the contents, similar to that of a calendar.

FMP: A-Z Stencil Experiments & Development
I established my style, added stencil lines for letterforms such as A, O and P which had counters and formed a stronger with more page furniture and typographic hierarchy through the use of a header and footer.

FMP: A-Z Stencil Experiments & Development
A few variations for stencil designs, focusing on the letterform and giving synopsis of the event/icon that inspired its creation as a means of educating the audience.

FMP: A-Z Stencil Experiments & Development
Initial stencil sheet designs, these were far too simple and the images were not my own so I would need to digitally adjust these somehow. The image seems to take away from the main focus of the outcome which is the letterform stencil so I decided to remove this altogether.

FMP: Card Experiments & Development
Exploring with the use of colour for my result cards, I found that those with the full bleed colour were the most successful because they stand out more in comparison to the question cards.
