Hey Hannah, I'm looking at doing the disney program 2019. How much did it cost you to get over there at the beginning?
Visa and checks about $300
Health insurance (compulsory) was about $700 for 6 monthsFlights and travel you can work out for yourself
I’d take at least $500 to get set up with for your first week or two (food, bedding, things for apartment, sight-seeing etc)

They couldn’t keep me away for too long haha I recently visited Disneyland Paris for a holiday and had a blast! If you want some tips on the College program look at the playlist on my channel entitled “Disney ICP Videos” Peace, love and best wishes to anyone out there! Have a magical day!

Hey Han! I finish my university studies end of this year and don't graduate til next may 2018 officially. do you reckon I'd be eligible for the disney cultural program? i know they have august arrivals for the year but i also know they have arrivals earlier on in the year. do you know what month that may be? because if it was january, i was planning on working at disneyland for 5 months (since the program is 5 months to a year) and then going to europe in june/july. thanks in advance :) xx
This is something you need to check with Disney, not me.The times and rules have changed a lot since I did the program. Also when I did the program, Australians cannot do the program at Disneyland in CA.

Hey Hannah! Love your blog! Just wanted to ask you is there any preparations we should make before the interview date ? Mines next week Thursday and I'm freaking out, I did some research and apparently there are quizzes after presentation? And I should familiarise myself so I can stand out of the crowd ? Thanks !
Normal interview prep stuff, have examples of customer service or problem solving etc ready

HI! Was just wondering how many people got accepted when you did the program from Aus? :)
They don’t tell us a number, I’d say a couple of hundred :)

How many off days do you get in a week? And are they usually together or are the off days on different days? (E.g. 2 off days a week, 3 days work 1 day off, then another 2 days and 1 day off?)
Usually 2 days off, but can vary as you can pick up extra shifts if you want or trade yours etc.For my area there wasn’t scheduled days for me, so although my days off often fell on the same days as the previous week, sometimes they were completely different. For example Week 1 Might be work mon-fri, days off and sat and sun, then Week 2, days off mon and tue, work wed-sun, so then you would have 4 days in a row.Honestly just view it as a rotating roster, like you would in many retail or service jobs back home.

Hi! I would love to do the Disney Cultural Exchange Program! I was wondering if you found that students during certain degrees got accepted, whereas students doing other degrees didn't (eg. hospitality gets accepted but something like history never does). I'll basically be going back to uni for the chance to apply for the program so I really want to be on the right track.Did you do anything extra (qualifications, work experience) to have a better chance? Thanks
As far as I know it makes no difference, I know they seem to pitch it more to tourism/hospitality courses, I did audio visual technology, but there were people from all types of courses there :)

Hi! I don't know if you know the answer to this question or maybe one of your followers does... can you swim in another housing complex's pool? Hypothetically speaking if you lived at Chatham but on the Patterson side, could you go swim in their pool because it would be closer than walking all the way to the Chatham pool?
Yes you can swim in their pools haha, you can use any complex’s facilities, just bring along your housing ID ^_^Butttt in terms of your “being closer” thing, to get to Patterson from Chatham, for example, you have to walk to the security entrance/exit and around the complex and back down the other side to get to patterson, so your own pool will probably still be closer.

Hi, I just saw a post saying that someone applied for the August 2017 intake, isn't that a bit early? I want to apply for the January 2018 intake, when do you think that will open?
No idea! I did the program three years ago :) Just keep checking the disney program sites and blogs, and contact disney if you’re not sure ^_^

Hi hannah! Interviews for Jan 2017 intake are now finished and we're all anxiously waiting for emails...how did you cope with the time period between your interview and finding out? It's so hard, my heart is racing a million miles an hour and jumping all over the place xD
Ah it was so stresssful! Our responses came later than they were expected too so we were freaking out and assumed we hadn’t got in hahaI suggest seeking out other people who applied for the same intake, you can all freak out together at least hahaGood luck!

Hey Hannah! Hope you are well! I just applied for the August 2017 intake for the AUS/NZ Cultural Exchange Program and was just pondering.. Nowhere throughout the application did it ask me for my preferences for roles! Is this normal? Will they only ask this once you progress into the interview stage? Just want to make sure that I'm not missing something :) Thanks heaps!
Hey there! Yes you are right, we were only asked role preferences at the interview stage ^_^

hi hannah! firstly i just want to say i really appreciate you doing this blog for us. i just had a look at disney opportunities &i really wanna do it too! im also from melb & i really wanna work at disney and had a look at the application but they're only taking applications for jan 2017 arrivals. i have a holiday booked on feb next year and i was wondering whether they also take in applications for the second half of the year? ill be graduating this year and will apply for the grad program..x
Hey there! Ah always awesome to hear from fellow Melbourne-ites!If you apply now they will most likely only send you info regarding the Jan 2017 intake, but it can’t hurt to apply now and get some info, just don’t schedule an interview. Just keeps tabs on when they open up for applications for the next intake ^_^All the best, Hannah

Hi! I'm from canberra and I was thinking about applying to DCIP. When we send in the resume, if we dont have a lot of experience is there still hope to be accepted? >3
Yes definitely still apply! Some people came to Disney with no job experience but just a great attitude!Don’t stress so much about the resume, the interview is where they see how you would handle things ^_^
