This is Thelockpickinglaywer and what I have for you today is something very interesting. As you can tell by the agonizing screams of the damned, I have recently left the mortal coil and, upon arriving at my destination, was informed that I did not qualify for residence. I was taken by an angel of the Lord to the mouth of Hell, and when the angel left, he closed this rather large red door and sealed it with a divine key. Although I’ve never seen this particular model of lock before, I’ve spent some time investigating the cylinder with this small shard of bone. By sticking it in the back of the keyway and slowly pulling it out, I can tell that this is a five-pin tumbler lock, that can easily be single-pin picked using this shed demon scale as a tensioner tool. Let’s try that right now. Alright, nothing on one. Nothing on two. Three is binding firmly, click out of that. Nothing on four. Five is binding, little click there, back to one. Once again, nothing. Two is binding, and we’ve dropped into a false set. Little click out of three. Nothing on four. Little click on one, counter-rotation on two, and we got this open. Okay folks, I think the main takeaway here is that no matter how much faith you place in a mechanism designed to ensure your safety, be it spiritual or physical, there is always a state in which it can fail. In any case, thank you for watching. Memento mori, and I’ll see you next time.

Not to rain on what otherwise would be a triumphant moment, but Sparrow being proud of Normal and then being able to turn back into a love wolf...Like, my dude, glad your son taking on the power of a god finally made you proud enough to get over your issues. I don't like the implications that this is what it takes for you to be proud of your kid Rowrow.

because i have a lot of headcanons to do with the kiddads given they are npcs that we dont tend to get much information on, especially in season 2, heres a shit load more! a lot of these are sad because these guys make me sad
- Sparrow starts wearing glasses in Middle School a little after they get back from Faerun, Terry Jr. starts wearing glasses when he gets to his 30's, and Grant started wearing glasses when he was in Elementary school
- When Nicholas starts to remember stuff from the Nick timeline, (basically 'becoming' Nicky if you will) scars he'd gotten from stuff in that timeline start showing up on his body, notably one is a burn scar on one of his hands from him spilling acid on it in s1 ep 34
- Lark has very scarred hands from when he was buried in the rubble in Neverwinter, though his mobility stayed relatively the same because of how quickly the wounds were healed, there was a lot of left behind scar tissue
- Sparrow has a scar across his mouth from when he was latched onto Boreanaz by his teeth when the pyramid fell
- Grant takes video games way too seriously and has in fact made his friends cry over it (Most specifically Sparrow and TJ)
- Terry didn't tell any of the other kiddads how he was going to die, just that he knew how
- Terry also knew Grant was going to be the one to kill him, but he never mentioned it, Grant was very confused on why all of a sudden TJ was becoming distant
- And he found out how he was going to die before he met Veronica, so when he met Scary he almost debated not marrying Veronica, not because he thought it would prevent his death but because he wanted to spare Scary of that pain
- Lark is incredibly confused like half the time (with basically anything) and to cover it up he usually acts stoic and tough
- Nicky is the type of person to do anything if someone phrases it like "bet you wont do *insert thing here*" no matter what it is
- Sparrow has a ton of tattoos that Nicky did for him
- Lark is colorblind but hasn't told anyone because he's too embarrassed to admit it
- For Grant and Marco's one year anniversary the kiddads all got them Titanic themed gifts, (Nicky got them sixteen dvd copies of the movie, they dont own a dvd player)
- Terry was Nicky's best man at his wedding, and Nicky was going to be Terry's best man but the betrayal happened before Terry even met Veronica,
- to add onto the angst none of the kiddads attended the wedding because it was after code purple and after they'd decided not to be involved in eachother's personal lives outside of D.A.D.D.I.E.S.
- to make this at least a little funny Veronica just doesn't think Terry has any friends-
- On the topic of weddings, Lark got so drunk at Sparrow's wedding that for his best man speech he just started reciting the Declaration of Independence (he opened the wrong tab on his phone and didnt notice)
- Grant has claustrophobia (from being inside the chimera)
- Lark used to be way better at pretending to be Sparrow but now he lacks too much spirit and gives up way too quickly for it to be convincing to most people
- Terry Jr. is extremely gullible and is usually the one Nicky would prank and trick the most just because literally everything works on him
- Nicky activated the sprinkler system at D.A.D.D.I.E.S. so much they took it out
- Terry used to talk to Jerry the Whale like he was his therapist
- Nicky would take a bunch of polaroids of the other kiddads all the time, he kept a photo album at his desk at D.A.D.D.I.E.S., it still sits there because none of the kiddads had the heart to clean it out
- Terry had beef with Darryl for a while as a teenager, for literally no reason (it was probably because he still had a lot of emotions and didn't no where to put them so he decided to just hate on his friend's dad)

I'm about to start a petition for Nintendo to face legal repercussions for updating pay-to-play games with flashing, strobing, or intentionally eye-straining game mechanics or visuals
The Splatterscreen was the first real problem
But the Fizzbangs and the Square are now INEXCUSABLE for the SHEER LEVEL of flashing and strobing
I can even make the same argument for the small flashes that happen when your attacks actually connect and things like the Fizzybomb explosions, but those were so small it wasn't a problem until everything else was added and compounded the problem.
I did not pay over 100 dollars for this game in-full to be UNABLE TO PLAY IT in its final development cycle
Its to the point trying to do so CAN and WILL send me into a seizure and have me end up in the ER for a disability I cannot control, I haven't touched the game all splatfest because it's TOO much
I am FURIOUS that a game that preaches diversity and inclusion has overlooked people like me SO severely MULTIPLE TIMES
I'm fed the fuck up.

annnd now heres a ton of kiddads headcanons as well because i love them
- unlike his dad Sparrow actually needs to wear glasses, and hes practically blind without them
- Lark does the thing where your dad stands either in front or behind the couch to watch the TV while ur watching something, he'll do this to Hero whenever shes watching anime constantly
- Terry Jr. started writing the journal the teens read, before the forgotten realms trip, it was something his therapist told him might help with how angry he used to be, he just ended up using it to also record all of the things that happened in the forgotten realms (it went from angsty teen bs to horror stories real quick)
- Nicky has a minions tattoo
- Grant would skip most of his PE classes except when they were playing soccer
- Lark has beef with one of Normal's teachers at Teen High because Normal said she was being rude and stressing him out (he went to Norm's parent teacher conferences just to threaten her, Sparrow had to hold him back)
- Nicky once drank a glow stick, not on a dare or anything, he just wanted to know if it would make him glow (it didnt)
- Sparrow learned to paint and draw from Mercedes
- when Lark pisses people off who he actually doesnt want to be pissed at him, he'll bake them a pie (for some reason thats always his go to for apologies, luckily Sparrow really likes pie)
- Terry Jr. gets his nails done every two weeks, the workers at the nail salon know him
- Grant can take apart and put guns back together, he does this when hes anxious
- after losing his arm, Nicky would refuse help when doing things, instead he would just use his teeth constantly
- Sparrow drew all the other kiddads as furries when he was a kid, Nicky still has the drawing
- Lark is really good at driving but cannot ride a bike for the life of him
- Grant got Nicky to pierce his ears without telling his parents
- Terry Jr. cries at every sad movie he ever watches
- when Hero was born and Sparrow was going between working for D.A.D.D.I.E.S. and taking care of her, he used to get so overtired he would lecture the other kiddads about certain things in a gentle parenting tone (it worked on nicky)
- Nicky is a really good cook, if the doodler hadn't been released he was thinking about going to culinary school
- Terry Jr. used to babysit the teens (excluding scary ofc) when they were little a lot (he was the only person Grant trusted to watch Lincoln)

I have sent, yet ANOTHER support ticket to Tumblr about the reporting strobing autoplay ads not working and not even removing the relevant ads from the site or even my dashboard.
Heavily considering putting in a formal complaint with the appstore or my country’s consumer affairs department over this, because I keep getting days-long migraines from this and people I know have had to stop using the site entirely. Yet suspiciously, I’m getting more and more ‘buy ad-free’ notifications whenever I open the app.
Accessibility shouldn’t be a paywalled fucking feature on your website, that’s illegal and goes against the disability discrimination act. I want to, as a disabled person, be able to socialise online without having to pay for my goddamn health and safety.
Watch them delete my blog for talking up about this lmao 🤭

I liked getting to hear an extended version of the teen talk outro music and it was all because Beth started ranting about Kate Middleton 😭 Usually she ends teen talk with something short but she went on for two and a half minutes. All the power to her, the outros belong to Beth

i want more fantasy stories where the main character has a disability (mental or physical) and it is a major challenge.
i want a story where the protagonist goes on a quest into the Fae Courts and also has to keep taking her meds, counting the days til she’s out with increasing dread.
i want a story where the protagonist struggles with learning a magical power not because it’s the “wrong one” but because they have ADHD and can’t focus on it.
i want a story where the protagonist is constantly gauging what actions will and won’t be worth the physical toll and recovery time.
i want a story where the protagonist has a flare up and can’t do something because of it and it matters in the long run
i want a story where the characters disability is actually disabling and they still win.
(other people please add. these examples were based on my experience

i think that there needs to be more disabled characters in combat focused games, like characters that are noticably disabled. sure there are some amputee characters but give me amputee characters that dont have a prosthetic, give me a sniper whos a wheelchair user, give me a character that uses their crutches or cane to hit someone, give me a character who uses their wheelchair to run people over, give me a character who keeps explosives in their rolator seat, give me characters that are just disabled! it doesnt even have to give them an advantage! just make them disabled!

a youtube ad for the first omen, a horror movie, that begins with flashing lights and screaming. UNSKIPPABLE. FLASHING. LIGHTS. AND SCREAMING.
ad blockers violate youtube’s terms of service.
but ADS WITH UNSKIPPABLE FLASHING LIGHTS THAT COULD HARM OR KILL SOMEONE is perfectly fucking ok.
i am so fucking tired of this shit. why the fuck to trailer makers keep adding in flashing lights. why does youtube keep allowing ads with flashing strobe lights that can’t be skipped or have any goddamn warning.
YOUTUBE. PHOTOSENSITIVE EPILEPSY IS A THING. ACKNOWLEDGE IT. STOP FUCKING ALLOWING THESE UNSKIPPABLE FLASHING LIGHTS.
nobody wants to be suddenly met with flashing lights and screaming.

Do you ever think people with epilepsy get so pissed when the 9000th game they've tried to play or movie they've tried to watch has the waring? Becuase I see that flashing warning almost everywhere.

apparently people are now purchasing thick water to make slimes with because of a trend on tiktok
thick water is for disabled people who can’t swallow properly. stores usually have extremely limited supplies of it.
please don’t buy thick water for fun or to make slime with. it’s literally the only way some disabled people can drink anything. It’s not a fucking toy

What most fucked up about the end of the latest episode is that Normal was the one to most likely to lose someone close to him. Normal had a 3 in 10 chance of losing someone important to him. Taylor and Linc both had a 2 in 10 chance, Scary also had a 3 in 10 chance however one of those people was her deadbeat dad.
Like can we start a petition or something to ask that the poor boy has a break, at this point no amount of health insurance will be able to cover the amount of therapy that he's going to need

The thing that abled people who advocate for the disabled community don’t get is that there are times when disabilities/accommodations clash. Horribly.
Like I spent years having to come up with a solution to get therapy dogs into a series of residence halls. Why years? Because we had to decide who got to stay and who got to leave: the people who needed therapy dogs or the people with severe allergies to animals. Who got the alternative housing?
Things like fidget toys might seem great for some disabled people but having them in the room could be distracting/overstimulating for others. The same goes with stimming. It can’t be helped but neither can the anxiety that another person in the room feels as they watch/hear it. Additionally, something like a weighted blanket might immediately calm one kid down and send the other one into a panic attack due to the claustrophobia it causes. (*Points to myself*)
Every Metro bus in New York City has a series of seats at the front that can be lifted up to accommodate people in wheelchairs but if I’m in one of those spots then someone with a cane/walker has to journey even further to sit down.
The flashing lights of a fire alarm are there to help deaf/hearing impaired but if they’re not properly timed, they can also cause a person to have a seizure.
The worst part about all of these is that there is rarely a concrete solution that makes everyone happy/safe. And I’m not here to offer any because I don’t know them. I’m just here to remind you all that as you’re taking your education/health classes, as you’re reading your textbooks, as you’re preparing to go be an advocate, just remember that there is rarely ever such a thing as a one-size-fits-all solution to advocacy and that something you do that can help one disabled person might actually hinder another.
Food for thought.

Oh then yeah, absolutely, the worst part is that when we bring it up as a criticism a lot of the times we get dog piled like “not every piece of media is for you”. Or “what did you expect?” Or “if you were really photosensitive you should know better than to play video games or watch movies”.
The amount of times the epilepsy community has pointed out how dangerous Spiderverse or Cyberpunk 2077 are (as examples, not the only ones) and how it’s not necessary and been met with responses like “but you can’t smother their artistic vision!“ or “so you want to take that scene away from the rest of us?!” Is honestly awful. These sorts of attitudes are super prevalent, so we honestly haven’t gotten much further than begging for proper warnings a lot of the time.
I like to say that the bar for inclusivity for people with epilepsy is at the center of the earth and companies still manage to tunnel under it because we’re currently stuck at a point where we’re begging for keep out signs. Not even to be part of the audience. And certainly not to see ourselves onscreen. I hope we can manage to progress to the bar at least being non the ground (meaning us being able to be part of the audience) but unfortunately I feel like things have been moving in the other direction, where flashing lights are only becoming even more prevalent.
(Sorry for the long reblog, I just have a lot to say on this topic)
Do you ever think people with epilepsy get so pissed when the 9000th game they've tried to play or movie they've tried to watch has the waring? Becuase I see that flashing warning almost everywhere.
