Our climate is the backbone and foundation of life. It sustains and fosters us by engineering the day by day flow of life; crops and forestry thrive and grow, and waters flow... But it is changing fast. Ocean levels are rising, glaciers are melting, coral reefs are bleaching and dying. All life on Earth is affected. This is caused by many things. Such as old energy systems fueled by coal, oil and gas polluting our land, air and water. It stifles our cities with unhealthy air that makes us sick. It dries and floods the earth, creating uncertainty and difficulty for those who rely upon them. It is also caused by the lack of proper waste disposal methods. 194 countries annually produce 300 kg of waste per year and per person on average. 70 per cent of it ends up on landfill sites. Meaningful waste separation is the best requirement for clean recycling, but this is not always possible. Unfortunately, The consequences for the environment where there are inappropriate waste disposal options are extensive.

We need to rid ourselves of the old energy system now! Else, the threat posed to our children and grandchildren will be far worse that it already is. We must change. Change to cleaner energy. Safe and secure renewable energy to transform lives. Renewable energy gives us a chance to sustain both our climate and our communities and economies.
