Hey so, I know the FNAF fandom is a bit... "Demanding"? When it comes to AUs, and The Lore™️ and of course, people on the hispanic side of the fandom might remember FNAFHS, whether you liked it or not, you might remember all the copyright issue around it.
To put you in context let me explain (although I already did in another post, it wasn't very clear).
FNAFHS was a fanmade series where all the animatronics were human beings who went to high school; the protagonists were the animatronics from the first game, they make a band and are training to compete in some sort of spring festival, their opponents are the characters from the other games.
Now, that sounds okay-ish, it's just a High school and Battle of the Bands AU, pretty common and doesn't need to be completely truth to the game because well, murder.
But, the issue was it became wayyy too focused on ships, in my personal opinion the other reason why it didn't work out was the lack of actual enemies, not just rivals and specially the lack of Afton. However, the biggest issue here is that, ever since the beginning of the show, it didn't have an established storyline nor plot. At the end of every episode, Edd0chan -the creator- gave the viewers options for them to make a decision about what would happen next episode, which resulted in many detours from the main issue just to see ships and backstories. There were many inconsistencies, and the main protagonist (Freddy), got a major personality change in the first episodes.
Freddy really went from saying "Not to brag, but I'm an amazing singer" with a cocky smirk to being all like: "Whoopsies, I'm actually really shy and I have this like sassy alter ego/invisible ghost who looks just like me but grey and black who actually pushes me to do stuff by taking control of my body like in Gravity Falls."
Eventually the plot went wild, it had lost every little connection it had with the game, except for the color palette and names, which resulted in name changing, to avoid trouble. Then Edd0chan said the show would change its name from Five Nights at Freddy's High School to Freddy's High School, she started putting some shadow realm plot until one day, she stopped.
Now, why do I mention the hell of a ride that was FNAFHS/FHS??? Because a few months ago I was talking about it with a friend of mine and I just went "you know what? I'm going to do a backstory for my boy Mike." I realized it didn't fit in the FNAFHS plot and decided to make an entirely different project despite including humanized versions of the animatronics.
I tried my best to adapt certain aspects of the lore into the story and it's actually good, even if I do say so myself. However, I'm a bit unsure about how to proceed with it, which is why I'm asking for beta readers. I'm currently writing a few chapters but I'd like to see if anyone would be interested in it, so if you are please dm me, reblog or comment on this please.
Just to clarify, this is not a fix it fnafhs, although the idea came from it; the characters, story and conflicts are different in MANY aspects, and well, singing competition AU's are fairly common.
