This is my final A2 poster. I took off the abstract because I think there are already a couple of complex components such as the vector shapes and busy background, so I want have some negative spaces to breath.

This is a link shared from David, I think it tells in detail the development process of Chinese history and the changes and progress of artistic thought in the development. It also clearly understands and expresses the part of Chinese design style that is different from the western part in the underlying thinking and its influence and trend in the world market.
This is also a very authoritative article, and I will interpret it in my research journal too.

Initial poster making used a paintbrush leading the scene from ancient to mordern. I also used colour contrast to separate forward and backward (a rich sence of hierarchy) , area of shape and text (emphasize the main characteristics).

Abstract
Chinese fine brush painting is one of the traditional styles of ancient art. It is a style that pays more attention to the expression of outlines. I chose this theme is because it really affected my aesthetics. In East Asian countries, murals and traditional painting which are more painted in a flatter illustration style has influenced the design style of designers including graphic design, but it is less familiar to people from Western. In the future, with the development of network and virtual technology, there will no longer be distance between different countries and cultures. Indeed, the purpose of this theme is to use modern aesthetics and digital techniques to reinterpret traditional Chinese art into modern version and actively carry out cultural out pit to give some inspirations to designers who want to understand or use Chinese art style in the future.

What traditional meticulous painting seeks is naturalism and realism; while meticulous painting works are the carrier and record of the artist's personal visual experience and way of thinking, depicting what the creator can feel, not necessarily what the artist really see. Therefore, an excellent meticulous painter must have a strong ability to express the subjective and the ability to refine the objective. First, the modern composition consciousness covers the composition of the work, giving people a strong visual impact in form; second, the works add light, shadow and other elements, pay attention to color intensity and decorative effect, and the color expression forms are diversified. Let your work as a mental soothing agent to adjust the anxiety that modern stressful life imposes on people, so that people's individual emotions can return to nature.

This is one of the mordern Chinese gongbi master’s work.
He is closer to the tradition in the use of the overall picture atmosphere and techniques, but he has developed and used more pure and bright colors, which is different from the ancient times, because the technology of modern pigment production is not like the previous pigments that can only be made by grinding natural substances, it’s more tinct and bright.

Chinese Gongbi Painting also called meticulous painting in formal.
“It tries to strike a balance between artistic expression and vitality, is often highly colored and usually depicts figural or narrative subjects.”
“Gongbi requires drawing with fine lines first to represent the exaggerated likenesses of the objects, and then adds washes of ink and color layer by layer so as to approach the perfection of exquisiteness and fine art.“
1) Lines
Lines are the cornerstone of Gongbi paintings as they depict the contour of the figural and narrative objects. The lines should be fine, smooth and be drawn in earnest.
2) Colors
The color scheme should be based on the natural colors of the objects. The colors should give a sense of pleasure, elegance and equanimity. But sometimes, flamboyant colors are also used to accentuate the lines and contents.

Here are some examples of the design style from one of the resource my friend gave me. This tattoo design is more like the style of the Republic of China period, because the meticulous painting during that time no longer pursued the ultimate delicacy and realism, and incorporated some unique artistic expressions and processing, it also represented the gradual integration of Chinese art culture with other styles. But since she also uses lines to express pictures in her tattoos, I think it does give me some inspiration.
