QPR (Queer Platonic Relationship) help
I want to get into a QPR, but I have no idea where to go. Does anyone know if there are any sites or anything that's good for aro/ace people looking for QPR? Especially spaces that don't make you pay to talk to people like a lot of dating apps. DX

Hogwarts Legacy update!
We've confirmed the plot: there's an uprising among the race of hook-nosed bankers who control the economy. (Note that the more evil they are, the bigger their noses are. There's a good one who has a big nose but he used to be evil when he was younger.) They're "rebelling" because they want their stolen cultural artefacts to be returned to them and want to not be oppressed anymore, which for some reason means they also want to massacre their oppressors' entire race, because of course marginalised people asking for liberation actually secretly want to kill you. As part of this sinister cabal's nefarious plot for white—I mean, wizard—extinction, they want to kidnap a child, because that's what hook-nosed bankers like to do, right? And their leader is willing to do anything for material gain, up to and including teaming up with fascists who hate his race.
You guys know that conspiracy theorists think Jews funded the Holocaust, right? They claim we did it so we could milk it for reparation money afterwards. And did you know they think we kidnap children? Or that we actually want supremacy rather than equality, and plan to subjugate the rest of the world for our own gain? Presumably you've at least heard the claim that we control the banks. And you know this is all very popular with the alt right, don't you? Have you also heard that this game's original head developer was an alt right YouTuber?
Don't act like this is a fucking coincidence.
No, JKR wasn't involved in the game, and it's actively intended to be trans-positive. Yes, she gets money from it, and will likely donate some of that to anti-trans causes. But even if you pirate the game so she doesn't make any money off of it, you're still going to be be playing the fucking Protocols of the Elders of Gringotts.
Fucking TALK ABOUT THIS.

hi, if you want to help people affected by the earthquakes in turkey but don't want to support government-affiliated channels, AKUT and AHBAP are two trusted non-governmental organizations you can donate. AKUT's website supports english and this tweet shows how you can donate to AHBAP (the website does not support english as of now). HAYTAP is another turkish organization that helps our animal friends and you can see how you can donate to them here. this twitter account shares multiple translations for people to find medicine, food, water, and other supplies in the region.
multiple earthquakes killed already more than 14 thousand people already and it's very cold. every little bit helps, thank you.
editing to add: this linktree also has additional resources for syria as well although i cannot confirm if they're reliable, please let me know!

One of our siblings was murdered recently, and you need to know about it.
TW // transphobia and violence against trans people
Brianna Ghey was a 16-year-old trans girl from Warrington, England. On Saturday, February 11th 2023, Brianna was found dead on the side of a park with multiple stab wounds. Two 15-year-olds have been taken into custody in connection with her murder.
Tumblr media
People in the Warrington area have alleged that Brianna was being bullied in school, and that neither the administration nor the police did anything.
Despite this, local police have said there is no evidence that the attack was hate-based and most news articles don't mention her status as a trans woman. This is deliberate. This is genocide by the hands of transphobes and TERFs.
Britain does not have gender self-identification (your legal gender being determined by how you identify and not any arbitrary medical requirements), meaning even in her death she will be deadnamed and misgendered on her death certificate.
She deserved so much better.
Mourn the dead, and fight like hell for the living.

Do you both:
a) hate cancer, and
b) live in any of the following countries?
United States of America, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Taiwan (R.O.C.), Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, or Uruguay
If you answered yes to both of the above, then congratulations, you may be able to save the life of one of my close friends who has leukemia!
How, I hear you ask?
By signing up for the bone marrow donor registry at bethematch.org
(for outside of the US, use this link instead).
But wait, I hear you say – bone marrow donation? That sounds scary and complicated!
Not so – it’s incredibly easy to get added to the registry, and the process of donating if you match is easy and relatively painless as well.
When you sign up on the website, you will be asked a series of screener questions to determine whether you are disqualified from being in the registry due to age or health conditions. You will then be mailed a free testing kit in the mail. The test consists of a cheek swab, which you do and then mail back to the registry.
And… that’s it! That’s literally all you need to do to sign up!
If you match a patient in need, you will be contacted by the registry, and given the option to donate to that person. If you agree to donate, the process is similar to giving blood with a few extra steps: Prior to donation, you will receive a shot once a day for five days. This is to help your body produce more stem cells. During these days you may experience some symptoms like a mild cold. On the day of the donation, they will take the blood out of your vein like for a normal blood donation. Unlike a normal blood donation, however, the blood you donate will be run through a specialized machine to separate and collect the stem cells, and then the blood itself will be returned to you. This process will take about four hours, and once it’s complete, you can go home and shouldn’t have any symptoms after.
But what if I don’t have healthcare and can’t afford medical procedures?
You don’t have to pay for any of this. The test kit is free, and comes with a free return label. And depending on your location, if you match with someone and decide to donate, you may even get free transportation and other accommodations to help with the process!
But what if I’m LGBTQ+? Aren’t I banned from donating?
Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community does NOT bar you from donating bone marrow, even if you are barred from donating blood. If you have always wanted to save lives by giving blood, but haven’t been able to due to homophobic regulations, this is your chance to make a difference.
Well, I’ve been meaning to join the registry, but just have never gotten around to it…
This is your sign to do so. Even though the process of donating marrow is more like a blood donation, bone marrow donors and recipients need to closely match, much like for organ transplants. Every single additional name on the registry increases the chances that those with leukemia will find a match. You could literally be the only hope for someone else’s life and not even realize it.
Please: join the registry, and potentially save a life. Potentially save my friend.

At least 6,000 children from Ukraine have attended Russian “re-education” camps in the past year, with several hundred held there for weeks or months beyond their scheduled return date, according to a new report published in the US.
Since the start of the war nearly a year ago, children as young as four months have been taken to 43 camps across Russia, including in Moscow-annexed Crimea and Siberia, for “pro-Russia patriotic and military-related education”, said the report.
Russian authorities sought to provide a pro-Moscow viewpoint to children through school curricula as well as through field trips to patriotic sites and talks from veterans, the report found.
Children were also given training in firearms, although Nathaniel Raymond, a Yale researcher who oversaw the report, said there was no evidence they were being sent back to fight.
“In many cases, Russia purported to temporarily evacuate children from Ukraine under the guise of a free summer camp, only to later refuse to return the children and to cut off all contact with their families.”
The report called for a neutral body to be granted access to the camps and for Russia immediately to stop adoptions of Ukrainian children. The report said that Putin aides have been closely involved in the operation, especially Maria Lvova-Belova, the presidential commissioner for children’s rights. It quoted her as saying that 350 children had been adopted by Russian families and that more than 1,000 were awaiting adoption.
Raymond said that Russia was in “clear violation” of the Fourth Geneva Convention on the treatment of civilians during war and called the report a “gigantic Amber alert” – referring to US public notices of child abductions.
The Russian activity “in some cases may constitute a war crime and a crime against humanity”, he told reporters.
Ukraine’s government recently claimed that more than 14,700 children had been deported to Russia, where some had been sexually exploited.

The worst thing you can do, as someone who has recently realised they are transfem, is to let terves and transphobes convince you cis women will never accept you.
I was told that when I came out everyone would reject me. That I would find myself isolated from the world, and from other women especially, who would react to me with horror and revulsion.
In reality, within the first months of coming out, in no particular order:
My sister's reaction on my coming out was, "Right, so I have a sister instead of a brother. Cool. I'm taking you clothes shopping tomorrow."
A friend, when she learned I am a woman, immediately invited me to her women-only, girls-night-out birthday party the following week.
Another friend, when a friend of hers expressed doubts about my gender, immediately shut them down and reaffirmed I am a woman.
I went camping with a group of friends, and we had two tents, one for the boys and one for the girls; I was unsure as to which I should enter, to which a girl friend responded by grabbing me and physically dragging me inside the women's tent.
In the women's bathroom at a movie theatre a random woman, whom I'd never seen before and haven't seen since, stopped me as I was going into a stall, to warn me there was no toilet paper in there, because she'd just used the last of it.
All of these, and more, some from friends, some from complete strangers. All within a few months, as a trans woman who hadn't started medical transition yet, and was very visible as being a trans woman.
I've had some people reject me, true, but the vast majority, including almost all cis women, accepted me as a sister with open arms.
Cis women are cool. It's terves who are bigots.

Well it being black history month is reminding me how I wanted to doodle something like this down for a while. Since it’s been a lil detail I always take notice of in drawings. These are very simple depictions but I hope it’s enough to give the general idea! Feel free to reblog

I used to volunteer for these guys cooking meals for people seeking asylum. They’re our local Asylum Seeker Resource Centre here in Melbourne and they do amazing work supporting people in Australia seeking asylum by providing food, housing, health and legal services.
With the current cost of living rising they’re running low on funds, and now fighting to keep their doors open. If you can spare some money, now is the time to help out.

This is not like a fully completed thought but yk
So I've done my first aid + CPR a few times. And every single time I try and bring up scenarios for fat folks
Specifically like 'what if someone is too large for me to wrap my arms around then to do the heimleich'
And its incredibly rare I get a decent answer.
How absolutely insane is it that me, as a fat person, is asking how to have MY life saved or to save ANOTHER life, is an impossible feat if someone is fat.
Most of the time they tell me to 'just try anyways uwu'
There has got to be a better option.
