2 YEARS OF FOLKLORE → Folklore is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was a surprise album, released on July 24, 2020, via Republic Records. After the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, Swift cancelled a concert tour supporting her seventh studio album Lover and quarantined herself, during when she conceived Folklore as “a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness” out of her imagination.

One Year of Folklore Event: Favorite Connection Between Songs + The Love Triangle as a Book Series (click for hi-res)
The Cardigan Chronicles is a book series by best selling author Taylor Swift. The series, set in the late 90s, follows 3 teenagers from Tupelo the summer before their senior year and is narrated by their classmate (and the town’s most notorious gossip), Inez.
Our story begins on prom night 1998. It was a night that changed all of our lives, but there were 3 people in particular who would never be the same after the events of that night. Betty and James had been dating on and off for a while. The entirety of high school, actually. Betty was a nice girl; she was kind and smart and beautiful. Everyone liked her. I even considered her a friend. James was good looking and intelligent, with a bad boy streak that left everyone swooning. The thing about James though, is that it could be said he has a bit of a wandering eye, and on that fateful night his eye landed on Augustine. Augustine was the new girl at our school. She was a bit of a rebel herself, actually, so it made sense that she would fall into James’ orbit. Another thing to keep in mind about Augustine is that she always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. You see, James had (begrudgingly) come to the prom that night at the request of Betty. By the time he finally arrived, the night was nearly half over and Betty, who didn’t want to let James’ attendance (or lack thereof) ruin prom night, was dancing with one of the other guys in our class when he showed up. The moment James saw this, he bolted. It was on his way home that night when Augustine pulled up next to him. She saw the sad look on his face and told him to get in the car. They drove off into the night, and that would be the last time either one of them set foot in Tupelo for the rest of the summer.
