My Curology Journey
I’ve struggled with acne for years. Not just the typical hormonal breakouts, don't worry - I get those too, but the full blown self-esteem killing acne. I’ve done chemical peels, countless routines and regimes. Murad, Roden and Fields, Salicylic Acid... you name it, I’ve tried it.
Don’t get me wrong all of those treatments worked to clear up my skin, but only for a week or two tops.
It got to a point where I was fed up. I saw an ad on Curology and thought I’d give it a try.
So let me give you the run-down.
You download the app and sign up.
You make an account.
Chose what your skin problems and concerns are. I chose breakouts, my scarring (DO NOT PICK YOUR SKIN! LISTEN TO YOUR GRANDMA!), and my big scars.
You're assigned your own personal dermatologist and they create a lotion just for you. When I say “just for you” I mean it, the bottle says your name and everything!
The bottle ships, you receive it, and the life changing happens.
The steps? Apply nightly after cleansing and before moisturizer.
My formula:

I started this journey on August 20, 2018. Here are some before photos.

Here’s an update. Minus the big cheek and jawline hormonal breakout, my acne has almost completely decreased. My redness and discoloration has diminished. The next step is just to try to lighten my scars.

I still have a long way to go, but I can now feel comfortable going out in public without makeup because of this little bottle of magic.
So, if you're skeptical... don't be. It works!

Top 3 jeans that won’t break your bank - or belt loops
If you're anything like me and you've got some hips on you, you struggle to find the perfect pair of denim that will fit right in all the right places. After many years of broken belt loops and baggy waists, I’ve narrowed it down to three brands that won’t break your bank.
1. Express Denim
Easily the most worn jeans I own. Usually this pair would be the most expensive on this list, but luckily for you they are 40% off! These “jeggings” look and feel like real denim - they actually have pockets!

2. Charlotte Russe - Refuge Denim
Okay, hear me out here... the comfiest and most affordable jeans you will EVER own. The high waisted style compliments everyones body type as well! Also on sale!

3. Fashion Nova
Fashion Nova has the best fitting jeans for those like me with wide hips. They hold up pretty well - but don’t expect the best quality.

Why #DayOfTheGirl Matters
This year more than ever, International Woman’s Day means more to women than ever. We live in a world where we are told to be quiet about what we as women go through, and if we do find the courage to report, will we be believed?
The truth is, according to https://www.nsvrc.org/statistics, 1 in 3 woman have experienced some sort of sexual violence in their lifetime.
Out of all the women in my life, 75% of them have experienced some sort of sexual assault in their lives, most of the sexual assault occurring in their workplace. Workplace assault makes up 8% of the reported rapes.
As women in the Fashion Industry, we will be surrounded by men, we will be judged by men, and we will be working FOR men, This video posted by https://plan-uk.org, perfectly explains what we as women will experience in our lives at one point, or daily.

Ladies, we cannot let our self-blame, self-doubt, and fear of not being believed or trusted affect or courage to report. Sexual assault is a crime. It’s never the victims fault.
If you or someone you know is or has been a victim of sexual assault, contact RAINN and talk to an expert about it. (800).656.HOPE. You're not alone.

Street Style Similarities
Street Style is something I personally enjoy following. In my opinion it is the most wearable and you can be the most creative with it. I went through the latest events and fashion shows and pulled out some of the trends and similarities I found throughout.
Cat Eye Craziness
This must-have summer trend was seen all over, especially in the celebrities.
You can even get yourself a pair. If you don't want to spend the hefty big bucks, you can score a pair from Urban Outfitters for $8 to $14!

Kylie Jenner 2018 Met Gala

Gigi Hadid

Rihanna
Mid-Skirt Madness
Mid-skirts are making a major comeback. Different prints, materials, and colors were spotted across the global runway. According to WGSN, mid-skirts were spotted in 38.6% of the designers pieces.

Whether it be buying yourself a mid-skirt or a pair of stylish cat eye sunnies... or maybe even both, you can fit in with the fashion crowd in these trendy pieces!

Why Fashion Journalism?
Let me give you a little bit of background as a child, I guess you could say I struggled with how to express myself. I couldn’t really process my emotions very well - between me and you, I still can’t. I never showed when I was sad, it always turned into anger or some other type of “cover up”. That’s when I started to use writing as sort of an outlet for what I was feeling, and a healthier way to express what I was feeling or to process my emotions.
I’d always loved clothes and everything that was centered around the industry, but I never considered myself a “Fashionista” by any means.
That’s when my grandmother ordered me a subscription to Teen Vogue. While reading all of the issues, cover to cover… multiple times, I thought to myself that I wanted to be one of “them.”
While reading those issues, I became more and more interested in Fashion. More interested in the way I looked. In the way I dressed. And most importantly - the Fashion Industry and how it worked.
Then came High School. Oh sweet, sweet, High School. It became time to think about “What I wanted to do with my life.”. I thought to myself, I want to be one of “them.” Then I got in my head, said I couldn’t do it, that I wouldn’t make it, and my dream fell on the back-burner. So I decided I would go the Junior College route until I could figure out what else I wanted to do “with my life.”
After telling myself daily how much I was wasting my time by not doing what I truly wanted. I did my research. I searched schools, their programs, and visited those schools.
Now, here I am, studying Fashion Journalism at my dream school - in hopes of landing my dream job.
