"I got a treasure map off a guy earlier today." "Oh, son, treasure maps are a waste of time." "I got over a thousand dollars, Dutch." "WHAT!"
"Why so down, Arthur?" "Well, Hosea, Strauss made me beat up a bunch of folk for debt money." "Strauss made you do WHAT!" *angry dad mode activated*

One of the things that absolutely kills me about Arthur Morgan is that he's a walking contradiction in the best possible way.
His design is obviously very rugged (scars, uneven complexion, large body frame, strong and sharp facial features, like his nose bridge, brow ridge and jaw), but soft at the same time (his default relaxed expression is just puppy eyes and a slight pout, his shoulders slouched and relaxed most of the time, or leaning against something).
He tends to be irritable and angry, but—unless he's in danger, or actively doing crime—it's in such a comical way that you can't really see him as a threat, even though you know damn well what he's capable of.
I think that's why it's so impossible not to like him. The writers gave him such a strong personality, but with so many subtle undertones that reveal different characteristics about him and that depend on the context of where he is and who he's around. All of that just makes him feel so real, I still have trouble wrapping my head around it.
