I was sold on shameless from that very first scene where they're eating breakfast in the kitchen. It just felt like home. The chaos, the messes, the watered down milk, the improvised fixes. It's the first time I've seen a TV show successfully portray poverty in a way that isn't all "oh, tragic, how horrible and pitiful and sad." Like yeah, poverty is all those things, but it's also making do with what you have and making things work. It's not always dull colors and unfurnished homes and bare pantries. Most of the time it's the exact opposite.
Obviously it's a comedy, so some parts get exaggerated or played up for shock factor or laughs, but it also has these moments that were so refreshingly real.
(And then, of course, gallavich happened, and then I was really fucked.)

It's not the letter he wanted but it was something. Something enough to keep him going. The paper is worn nearly to bits and there's places where the writing bled for some reason. He keeps it close to his heart anyway. Maybe there'll be something waiting for him after all
Sometimes I wonder if I'd be so invested in Gallavich if they'd had it easier and all the plot holes were filled. I don't know but I'm so massively grateful for this little fandom playground

The first thing that hooked me on Shameless was the absolute chaos of the Gallagher kitchen. Orange juice spilling all over the place, the five conversations going at once, mismatched everything… and of course, poor Ian no one ever let you finish a bowl of cereal. As I can’t draw people or scenes… here is my contribution. Thank you @gallacrafts 😘

Fandom is what keeps me invested in a TV show after it is over, and while I love Ian and Mickey’s story, there was an insane amount of stuff we didn’t get to see, especially in their early years.
I love that fandom exists to fill in the blanks and that I can read filler fic and fix it fic all day long and never risk running out of stories to read.
Fandom rocks and Baby Gallavich are love

I love re-watch this scene, i love this song (and i'm so sad that it's been removed from spotify but ok whatever). It's incredibly emotional, that's all. Mickey is so protective, there are so many thoughts on his face. And this silent talk with Svetlana screams very loudly for me. I just like to think that at this moment Mickey is thinking about how much he loves Ian and how glad he is that he's finally here. At his home. In his bed.

thank you @gallacrafts for this months theme. it hit harder than it should have. this fucking show, man.
my friend died last night, really suddenly and i didn't get to say goodbye. kinda bittersweet timing for this, right?
but she was the one i would talk about shameless with, we were both obsessed when the us version came out in 2011, we'd trade the latest episode on a usb in the high school hallways along with all the other girls bc it was one of the shows that connected all of us. really weird to think about now, no matter what little clique you were in that this one show gave us all something to share, just 100+ 13-14 year old girls and it was a beautiful time. and i miss it.
im sorry for the rushed outcome, i couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Few days late to @gallacrafts but I give you the proctor of Ian's plants from caterpillars.
While Ian tends to his lovely tomato plants, Mickey is silently going behind him fending off the Tomato Hornworms who threaten his husband's harvest.

I received this miniature bird house as a gift from one of my closest friends a couple of years ago. "Blank", obviously, with the instructions to paint it as I see fit. I just never got around to it, until now. So thank you, @gallacrafts, for providing the opportunity 😍 Now, my husband, who grew up on a farm, lovingly informed me that birds would stay the fuck away from it because it's too colourful but fuck it, I think it's cute 😁 (Please excuse the motions of the camera, I swear there wasn't an earthquake while I was filming 🤦🏼♀️😅)
