TWW colouring zine is here, in time for "back to school"!

make sure you download the correct size for the paper you will be using. the zine is available in a4 and letter size from the drive link above. i recommend if you are going to print it double-sided to use thick paper or card so that the lines from the other pages don't show up. if you only have regular printer paper, print single-sided

you can bind your zine with staples or with any single-sheet binding method! i used this tutorial with some basic supplies (literally a sewing needle, thimble, and thread)

as well as the lovely artwork, there are a couple of puzzles to fill in as well - with answers provided by Miss Hardbroom in the back, of course

if you want to share any of your colours, use the hashtag #tww colouring zine and remember to tag or link to the original artist! do not remove or obscure the credit on the images

I edited Hecate into Bookbroom clothes because literally why not?! Hecate in glasses is something I’d love to see. Also check those owls on the chair in the drawing, which I only recently realised are the inspiration for the chairs in the offices and the potions lab etc. We stan attention to detail 🥺

The print pdfs are optimised to be printed off, folded as they are, and stapled together as a centrefold booklet. The pages are otherwise in a nonsensical order! The digital pdf is ordered to be read on a screen and has extra blank pages to make it neat for two-up page reading. If you need it in another format please let me know!

Printing tips: 

Put on some jaunty Hallowe’en tunes as you print and put it together!

Choose the right paper size version for your country

Make sure “print both sides” and “flip on short edge” are ticked or it will end up upside-down! 

You should just be able to fold the pages in the order they are already in, but check the page numbering before you put it together

Staple or stitch at the centre pages to secure the leaves together together

Here is a handy guide to a 5-hole stitch binding a pamphlet. You can use any thread you like (I used 3 strands of embroidery floss), and a sewing needle will do instead of an awl - but make sure you only go through a few pages at once!

Worst Witch Theories/Symbolism’s Part 2: Miss Cackle’s Birthday in Series 2 & Ada and Agatha’s Birth Scroll from Series 1

Okay, this one was harder to research for a variety of reasons. In Series 2 it seems Agatha and Ada’s birthday falls around October as we see Halloween occurring a few episodes later, but in Series 1 their birth scroll seems to show different information. This is purely theoretical, so I will split this post into two parts; Miss Cackle’s Birthday and The Birth Scroll from Series 1.

The info I’ve posted below (date and time they were born) is in no way concrete and is based on my own observations and theories. Please feel free to add anything to these posts. It will be lovely to hear your thoughts. :D

i finally finished my starabella video edit!! this is my very first time doing a video edit and i worked on it for a few weeks gathering clips. as i think we have probably seen the last(?) of arabella hempnettle, it was time to finish it up

over the course of making it, canon did that thing where they played with my heart, but i still ship them!!! :’)

Spell logic

I’ve been thinking about this for some time: In season 2, when Maud gets turned into a baby and Miss Bat takes her, Enid uses a tracking spell that goes “No more tricks,no more maybe’s, let me find our missing baby”. Seeing that the spells have a tendency to rhyme, wouldn’t it make more sense if there was a general tracking spell where the word describing the missing object/subject could be placed in the middle? Or do they have separate spells depending on what they’re looking for? If so, how often do babies go missing in the magic world that they had to conjure a separate tracking spell for babies?  There are other instances where spells seemed too specific too, like the frog episode. Ethel and Gullet used a slightly different spell to turn Mildred and Algernon back to human form. Does the ending change depending on what you transform? Do witches learn a million versions of each spell? Anything goes as long it rhymes?
