I love Joseph Quinn to death, but I actually agree with you. I can't see it. Happy to be surprised, but until then I'm not overwhelmed by the casting 🤷♀️
It sucks too cause, while I had a lot of issues with s4 of Stranger Things Joseph Quinn was one of the highlights. I think he’s a very good actor but I just don’t think he’d be a good Johnny. Like you said I’m happy to be surprised, in fact I hope he blows me away, but as it stands now I’m just very meh about it.
It may also be me holding Marvel to a really high standard due to the history of the f4 and how important they were in making Marvel what it is today, but I wanted the cast to be perfect and the one we got seems lazy and that they just wanted as many big names as possible (which needs to be expected for the mcu but you know what I mean haha).
Again I want the entire movie to blow me away. I love these characters, I want other people to love them too, but of no fault of their own the cast isn’t giving me a lot of hope that the creatives behind it are putting in as much care as I would like them to.

Heath Ledger was the best and worst thing to happen to comic book movies. Like yes he did give us such a good Joker performance that he became a lot of people’s definitive Joker.
On the other hand it’s because of him that you can’t go “huh, that’s weird casting. Not sure if they’re the best choice for this character.” without people coming at you with:
“pEoPlE sAiD tHe SaMe ThInG aBoUt HeAtH lEdGeR”

In another Star Wars phase and am stuck thinking about what music all the characters would listen to, and since all my friends are tired of hearing me talk about Star Wars tumblr is getting my rant. Will be updated as I think of more.
Padmé is a former TS fan. Her and her handmaidens were absolutely blasting that shit while planning the body doubles in Queen’s Peril you cannot tell me otherwise.
Qui-Gon is heavily into 60s/70s rock music. Basically if it was in a Guardians Of The Galaxy movie he’s played it on repeat.
Obi-Wan is a Florence + The Machine fan. Don’t really have much else to say about it besides vibes.
Anakin listens to Sad Girl ™️ music. Mitski, Lana Del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers etc. He’s listened to all their stuff after bad days.
Han is a Green Day fan. He wasn’t a fan until recently and became one after Leia made him listen to them.

So I’m rereading Warriors after about 4 years out of the fandom, and I got to the part in Fire and Ice where Cloudkit, Ashkit, and Fernkit go missing in a snowstorm and the parallels between them and Bluestar’s kits has absolutely gutted me.
Both litters of kits were two grey kittens with one white, and when Fireheart and Sandstorm got back with Cloudkit and co, Bluestar’s immediate reaction was to scoop up Cloudkit, the one who looks the most like Mosskit.
Like I’m just imagining Bluestar having flashbacks to trying to bury Mosskit while comforting Brindleface and then she sees Cloudkit come back and even though she knows it’s not her, it’s like just for a split second she sees Mosskit and I just…

Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.
