This is a statue to commemorate a brave little dog by the name of Leo, who died while saving a little 10-year-old girl who was being attacked by a much larger dog. Leo witnessed the little girl being pinned to the ground by the dog who began biting her. Leo immediately ran to the rescue and began biting the bigger dog on the leg who turned on Leo and let the girl go free. Sadly, Leo was killed.
The statue is located in a park in Serbia so he can watch over all of the children playing. There is a quote underneath that reads “To all small heroes with big hearts,” which is a true testament to the courageous nature of little Leo.

It was the 15th of November, 1977, when 13-year-old Megumi Yokota and her friend were walking home from school in Niigata, a seaside town in western Japan. As the duo approached Yokota’s home, the two said goodbye and went their separate ways. Yokota never made it home.
For the next 25 years, Yokota’s family searched in vain for her. Finally, in 2002, there was a break in the case. North Korea admitted that they had been operating a state-sponsored abduction program in which Japanese civilians had been kidnapped and brought to North Korea to teach spies Japanese language and culture so that they could successfully infiltrate the county. North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il, publicly admitted to the practice and apologised. He allowed a few abductees to return to Japan but stonewalled the rest, claiming that the victims - including Yokota - had either died or killed themselves.
Japan estimated that around 17 of its citizens had been abducted during the 1970s and 1980s. The cremated remains of eight kidnapping victims were flown back to Japan and it was claimed that one urn contained the remains of Yokota. However, DNA testing proved that the remains weren’t Yokota. Yokoto’s family believe that she is still alive today.

Warrior Princes!ORβIT AU - Heecho
👑 inspired by @/hyoun_hae (twitter) thread “ ORβIT as Fantasy Characters” 👑 https://twitter.com/hyoun_hae/status/1274583547026845696 👑
In a far off land, not too different from ours, lies a kingdom of culture, serenity, and happiness. Home to a noble king and queen, and their seven sons. Trained from young to protect their people in both combat and livelihood, the esteemed princes are known by kingdoms far and wide.
The heir to the throne, Heecho is the 2nd eldest son so his destiny was sealed the second Younghoon signed the declaration to relinquish the throne
he felt immense pressure, and no one hardly ever saw him out of his room
anxiety and fear about being a king plagued his mind for months
what if he was unfit to rule what if he became a tyrant what if his people didn’t like him what if invaders attacked what if he couldn’t defend the kingdom what if
perhaps the one of the hardest moments of the queen’s life was watching her son slowly self-destruct
but through months of healing and listening to his father’s teachings, Heecho felt he was ready to brave the kingdom again
as the future king
out of all seven princes, hes the most different in public compared to private
people will see him on screen giving royal addresses, or in public whenever he visits the towns, and they’ll go
“its the ice prince! hes so stoic” “i’m not sure about him becoming king” “maybe we should give him time”
when Younghoon stepped down from the throne, and Heecho was announced as the new successor, the kingdom was divided because unlike Younghoon who had a loud and outgoing personality, Heecho was reserved and a mystery
he never addressed the public on his own will, and he always stayed at the back of the pack when he and his brothers roamed the kingdom
the people only knew him as the tall, stone-faced prince
until Shunya shared a video of drunk Heecho crying and cuddling the palace cats one night
and everyone went
this is……the ice prince????????    w h at???????
but hes won the people over with his respectful character and leadership in charity and reform
everyone loves him now
although he still gets very shy when the press takes his photos or when people ask for his autograph
the crown he was initially gifted on his 18th birthday was matte black and simple
but now that hes the heir, hes had to swap it out for a new one
his new crown is still all black but now with intricate patterns
and its embellished with red dragons; the kingdom’s national symbol
but he only wears it for official royal family photos, or if nobility from neighbouring kingdoms visit
doesn’t mind the crown but isn’t super in love with it
likes to wear long flowy coats cause he thinks they make him look cool and dramatic
but he has a funny habit of tripping over himself
his weapons are two scythes that can be attached together
so he can either use one in each hand or he can connect them to make a double-headed scythe
which is downright terrifying
because when the two weapons are combined the whole thing is almost as tall as Heecho, who stands at a whopping 186 cm
the blades are super long too
when he first got it he was overwhelmed about using it
the scythes were heavy and when practicing he had to be alone at all times because he didn’t have control over the weapon and its movement, rather it looked like it was dragging Heecho around, and when he swung it scared the hell out of everyone
he almost slashed a few people which made his parents reconsider giving him a different weapon
but Heecho is never one to quit. he trained all day and night with his scythe. until the skin of his palms peeled, and his grip became sore from clutching so hard. until his shoulders and back pained from the weight of the scythe and he dropped it to the ground. both he and it drenched in sweat
it took him years but now he and his scythe move as one; with fluid movements, he feels like the scythe is a part of him when he wields it
however, Heecho’s greatest weapon is his voice and reasoning, for he knows that when he becomes king, he’ll need to be able to gain allies and avoid wars at all costs
Heecho may be frightened and worried about his future, but everyone knows that he’s dedicated and thoughtful to those who rely on him to protect them. He’s a kind hero to his kingdom, a loving and witty brother to his siblings, and a fearsome prince to those far and wide

The case of 2-year-old Pauline Picard from Brittany, France, is quite possibly one of the most bizarre unsolved cases to date. In April of 1922, Pauline disappeared without a trace from her family ranch. A few days later, a little girl matching Pauline’s description was discovered in Cherbourg, a town approximately 320km from the ranch. The Picard family confirmed that the little girl was Pauline. However, a couple of obscurities seemed to emerge from this seemingly blissful reunion. First of all, the little girl didn’t seem to remember her parents. Secondly, she didn’t react to her parents when they came to identify her. Regardless of these odd occurrences, her parents took her back to the ranch and life carried on as usual.
The following month, a neighbour discovered the decomposed body of a little girl; she had been partially buried near the family ranch. The police arrived at the grim scene, accompanied by the Picard family and a number of other curious residents. The face of the little anonymous girl was so decomposed that she couldn’t be identified but the Picard family disturbingly discovered that they recognised the clothing as the clothing Pauline was wearing on the day she disappeared. Police revealed that they had already specifically searched the location where the body was discovered, indicating that somebody had recently disposed of the body there. Even more alarming, the skull of a middle-aged man was discovered near the body of the little girl.
Reports of the investigation reveal that there was one potential suspect - a middle-aged farmer had visited the Picard family and asked them if they were 100% sure that the little girl living in their house was Pauline before blurting out “God forgive me, I am guilty,” and bursting into hysterical laughter. It was reported that this man was then sent to an insane asylum yet the case remained open leaving a number of questions unanswered. What happened to Pauline? Who was the little girl found in Cherbourg if not Pauline? Whose skull was discovered with the little girl? Was the laughing man the killer? These questions remain a very baffling mystery.

Homosexuality was identified as a danger to Nazi society and the Nazi regime attempted to eliminate it. Willem Arondeus and Frieda Belinfante were two openly gay Dutch artists who joined the anti-Nazi resistance. They helped Jews escape arrest and deportation to the concentration camps.  In 1943, they led a group which destroyed the Nazi records office in Amsterdam so that Nazis could not identify local Jews. Frieda managed to escape by dressing up as a male. She hid in Switzerland and eventually immigrated to the United States in 1947. Willem, however, was captured and executed. Before being hanged, his final words were: “Let it be known that homosexuals are not cowards!”

Stull Cemetery is located in the small Kansas town of Stull. Inside the cemetery stands a small abandoned church and a number of gravestones. Many creepy tales surround this cemetery and it is said to be one of the seven gateways to hell. An article written in 1974 claims that this cemetery is one of the two places on the earth that the devil appears twice a year. In fact, it’s said that the abandoned church is his gateway, with many locals claiming that even though the roof has been missing for years, rain does not land inside. Shrouded with tales of witchcraft, devil worship, and Satan himself, this cemetery is on the bucket list for most paranormal chasers. Is is even said that that when Pope John Paul II was flying to Colorado in 1993, he had his pilot divert around the cemetery because even the air surrounding Stull Cemetery is tainted by evil.
