HALLWAY 07 HEART
Tumblr media
Beautiful. I patched up the wound immediately - I'd wasted far too much time taking pictures earlier - and the structure is recovering already. I should have the qualifications to apply for my first rank now, provided the building judges my work acceptable.
Not to toot my own ego, but I don't think any other unranked maintenance body would go this far for such an honor.

Another angle of the heart post-op. Gosh, what a healthy glow. I've really outdone myself this time.

HALLWAY 07 B

I've been walking for some time, and the wheezing structure has finally become desperate enough to reveal its heart to me, an unranked maintenance body. At this point I have its tentative trust only because there are no alternatives. I'll not have such an opportunity again. Sink or swim.
This photo is of the aortal wall - the hallicle on the left must lead directly to the heart. Marked and unmarked veins run from the aortal wall and split into myriad more.
Speaking frankly, it's the opportunity of a lifetime.

HALLWAY 07 A

The beast's intestines. The protrusive bodies of fungal doorworms line the walls. Though only their entrance is visible, rest assured that the symbiotic hallicles reach a healthy depth.
The veins here are more numerous. They coat the ceiling and crawl over light-strips. Past maintenance crews have affixed signs to them in long-dead tongues.
...The structure's breath becomes ever more labored. I should hasten to its heart.

Veins sprawl across the roof of this building's mouth. The bioluminescent strips keep its innards comfortably warm. The structure is wounded - its breath raspy, putrid. I don't have the technology to cure it, but I'll tide it over with blood.

HALLWAY 06 HEART

Churning heart of the field. Piping and arteries piling on pistons. This is as close as it could allow me - safely at least. As always, I find myself in awe of the natural world.

Concrete fields spew thick pillars at the sky. Lucky to capture this photo - concrete doesn't often bloom in the presence of humans.
