She knew him far better than he could ever know her, after all. Charity smiled at the other. A General, going by the golden accents to the outfit she wore. When her eyes fell on Lau, the corner of her mouth twitched.

“Lau.” Her voice was almost too polite. “Good to see you again. I hope you haven’t caused anyone else to sit at the bottom of a well for two hundred years?”

Subtlety in the frozen posture of her animal partner was not lost to a general’s eye. Blue as cool as the ocean waters flicked over to the still form, raising one hand to rub the crest of his white fur as she returned her attention to the innocence at hand.

“ I’m sure he didn’t mean anything by it. And if he did ... he won’t be trying it again. ”

Ignoring the soft chitter of a monkey trying to speak his mind - apparently still less than regretful in harbored emotions. So the trainer’s companion truly was taken over by innocence in full. A harrowing thought if she chose to dwell on it.

“ He might get heated, but I wouldn’t work with him if he didn’t know how to listen. ”

Sure he was breathing harder than before, but as training went this was the most fun he’d had in a long time. He was willing to go until he was actually ready to collapse. Honestly, it was nice having someone who didn’t seem to treat him like one wrong move could break him.

“I’m ready whenever you are, General.”

One could almost notice the way the corner of her lip ticked up to a smirk. Whip raised to a practiced hand before letting it crack against the floor, the force of the tip hard enough to leave an etching on the tough ground.

“ Then be prepared, I won’t hold out on you forever! ”

Prove your mettle to me, show me how much you’ve learned.

Cord of black striking out to the air, breaking the air as a bullet from a gun - aiming right to wrap around the knee of the exorcist. Aiming to bring him to the ground one snap at a time unless he learned how to use his legs for a bit more than just KICKING.

Leaning back against a pristine plush couch, golden mane framing a gaze locked on her apprentice. Placing her hands in her lap as her simian ran down her shoulder to nestle there, bobbing and cooing at the approaching soldier.

“ Tell me, did you encounter any trouble? ”

I need to know where to push you to make you grow. Falling on the battlefield is not an option anymore. ( It never should have been. )

Single digit moving with a feather light touch upon the furred back of her partner. Both taking in the form of another with idle apprehension - Lau more than his owner. Perhaps a mark of familiarity. Perhaps a mark to show there was something more to invocation than the general had assumed.

“ Your boy must have quite the connection to you. ”

Had he surpassed a critical point? Or was this the innocence acting on her own, to take a form regardless of the desires of her accomodator?

Calm words from a form held high. Crystalline blue hues filled with reserved praise as she flicked the butt of a trusted whip against her thigh. He had done well to make it so far in one on one combat, and remain standing. ( Regardless of her lack of invocation for a simple bout of training. )
