Now when i have your attention, i want to say that precious friend of mine has written the work about Wittebane brothers @foggystrangeryouth ! This art is like a fan-art to "Overstep the bounds of the star lake".

The summary: "William and Philip Wittebane, the founders of Gravesfield village, disappeared in 1635, when a witch lured two brothers into the world of evil — that's what local legends whisper. But books will never tell everything, cause the written is nothing more than just a grain of the truth. And only by taking a trip down memory lane, the pure verity of this mysterious story can be seen"

Another variant for the Philip - Belos - Hunter thing because this hiatus will end me otherwise

So obviously we all see connections here but since we don' have all the details (hell we didn't even know there was a brother til yesterday's lie) we are all coming up with lots of different possibilities, so here's another one I thought of! I assume someone else may have already thought of this, but hey, whatever. Here goes

So, most people are going with the possibility that Hunter is a grimwalker aka a clone of this mysterious brother, but:

First, Belos may or may not be Philip. I used to think maybe he was a descendant or somehow related, now I do think it's more likely he simply is Philip, and he's kept alive through magic or whatever curse he has going on. I mainly don't think he's also a grimwalker because the book had that drawing of the eyes, and the color matches Hunter but not Belos. Still, he could be idk

Now what if this brother, when they both got the Boiling Isles, met and fell in love with a witch (bonus points if it was a Cawthorne but it's not necessary lmao) and they had a kid. Half witch half human.

And then they died, or something happened ("our family is gone because of wild magic"), maybe even the same thing that turned Belos into evil goop. And Hunter is a grimwalker of that child, which would explain the pointy ears and lack of magic, as well as, well, y'know, "uncle".

Now why Belos would make a grimwalker of the child and not his brother, it may not work with humans? or he doesn't really want the brother back (something something a betrayal of blood).

And then there is the forever ominous "the titan has big plans for you" and whatever is supposed to happen during the day of unity. A lot of people are guessing that to bring together both realms he may need someone who is part witch part human, and Hunter may literally be the only one who fits that description, if there really have been no other humans to the BI.

I'm still curious, if Belos is Philip, what the heck happened during those centuries he was just. gone? He only appeared 50 years ago, and only created Hunter allegedly 16 years ago. Maybe he only realized he needed the kid recently, and only succeeding in making him even more recently

So many questions and options. And then there's other questions that kept me from fully embracing the Belos-is-Philip train: why did he donate his journal to the library? How did he lose the portal? bc yeah Eda found it but that wasn't that long ago. Why didn't he make another (I know it's hard but my dude had like 400 years), etc.
