Living with chronic physical and mental health conditions is difficult, and the journey to diagnosis is often long and complicated. It can be exhausting, infuriating, stressful and overwhelming, particularly if you don’t feel like you’re being heard or taken seriously.
We understand because we’ve been in your shoes and experienced the roller coaster of emotions for ourselves. Grounded was created on the back of our experiences to fill the gaps in support, knowledge and resources that we experienced so your journey can be better. It’s time for change, and to break the stigmas that so many of us have and will face.
For more info on Grounded and what you can expect to see in app, click the link above or find us on Instagram @grounded_app ☝🏻
We’re Crowdfunding because despite how long and hard we’ve worked on it thus far, we can’t get over the finish line alone and we need additional support to make it a fully-developed reality.
If you can, please consider supporting us by donating to our Crowdfunder or sharing the link - you can receive a 3 month, 6 month, 1 year or 2 year subscription + Beta access Reward as our way of saying thank you for believing in us.
Any and all support gets us one step closer to making a difference 💜

Millions of young people simply wake up each day and do the best they can. Their experiences and diagnoses may differ, but their entitlement to support, help and empathy is universal, and each and every #spoonie deserves a resource that can support them fully and unconditionally at any and all points of their journey.
Grounded is an app designed exclusively for young people (18-39) living with chronic pain, illness, mental health conditions and disabilities. It centres around inclusivity, a place free from judgment and stigmatisation that provides users with 24/7 access to a consolidated digital platform where all #spoonies can feel safe, heard and validated.
A place where young people can learn about their conditions through a variety of informative resources. A place to meet and support one another as part of a mutual support network where users are empowered to share their stories and talk openly about their experiences and the daily challenges they face. A place where no young person is left behind to feel isolated, alone or hopeless - we are all in this together.
Grounded was designed by a fellow spoonie to remind young people that they still have the power and the tenacity to take control of their lives and how they live them. Life does not end after diagnosis, and chronic pain should not stop you living yours.
Welcome to Grounded, your safe space - officially coming soon.
For more information about Grounded, who it’s designed for and why its needed, please follow the link to read more and share the link if you can to help spread the word with others who may benefit from such a resource 💜 You can also follow Grounded on Instagram @grounded_app

Chronically sick & tired, but still going strong
On Tumblr we are open and honest, and wholly accept and love one another, regardless of our struggles. There are wonderful people who show kindness, understanding, and acceptance, and for that I am grateful beyond words and I know I am not alone in that gratitude.
But in life, young people have metaphorical targets on their backs, and it’s not quite as easy to talk and truly be heard when we need it the most. I have seen it, and experienced it over and over again, and I know I am not alone in that either.
There remains a stigma deep-seeded into societal perceptions that our understanding of pain is minimal, and the notion that it could have a legitimate, lasting impact on our lives is unfathomable. Bit fucked up really, but I don’t need to tell you that.
Young people with chronic pain, chronic illnesses, disabilities, mental illness, and anything else that means life is a little more difficult for us, exist.
Our pain and experiences are valid.
Our age is irrelevant.
Our ability to rise and carry on every day despite adversity should be celebrated, and the fact that on Tumblr, in this community, it is, reminds me every day that we are never alone.
So if you need to hear this today -
I celebrate you.
I hear you.
I am proud of you for just existing, despite all of the confusion and pain that life brings you without reason or explanation.
You are strong.
But most importantly, you are a whole person, worthy of love, and happiness, and a wonderful life.
Your struggles and experiences do not define who you are.
You do.

“Sometimes we just have to cut off the dead branches in our life. Sometimes that’s the only way we can keep the tree alive. It’s hard and it hurts, but it’s what’s best.”
