I tried to put my thoughts into words, but I couldn’t. I still don’t think I’ve processed everything because it feels fake, and I’m waiting for someone to say, ‘haha, sike! Leo will never leave Barcelona!’ but that is not going to happen.
I’m probably making this sound more dramatic than it is, but Leo truly embodied this club and became its ray of hope. It feels extremely unfair and cruel that this is how it ends; he wanted to stay and it had already been confirmed that he would, and now he has to leave without even saying a proper goodbye. Cruel. It’s very cruel. There is no point in ranting about how this club’s management has been in shambles for years and how Liga is a joke.
This post is just for Leo. Leo was the one who introduced me to the club. Leo, who brought me so much joy while wearing the Barcelona jersey. Leo, who became a symbol of hope for Cules whenever things went wrong. Leo, who was completely devoted to this club and loved it unconditionally.
I really wanted this love story to end on a more positive note, but it’s not entirely a bad ending. Leo leaves the club as its most decorated player, leaving behind an indelible legacy.
Thank you for everything, Leo, and best wishes for your future endeavors.
