As you have replied rather than put these all in one reblog, I’ll self reblog this post in order to respond to you.
1: I’m not missing any sort of point. I stated why the boundary is there. I stated my reasoning why saying a flag is a “rip-off” of another flag simply based on subjectiveness. The point I was making in that post was that it wasn’t just that they were using the same colors. They were using the exact design, and repurposing/reclaiming it for their own thing, which is what is disrespectful.
2: I’m not getting into this. The distinction is important to people, and it is invalidating to tell people that it doesn’t matter and that it’s bigotry to insist that it is.
3: I can see how they would be “salty” about it, but I honestly don’t think it excuses them taking the entire design, not just the colors, but the whole flag design and “reclaiming” it.
4: The distinction is important for people, and while a lot of bi people insist that they mean the same thing, those that made the flag and coined the ID did so because the whole multiple genders/more than one gender definition that is used currently wasn’t used at the current time, and often still isn’t within mainstream areas and is only understood as “attracted to men & women”. So as much as it is inclusive now and likely tried to be in the past, there are connotations associated with the definition from that past that meant people were not understood about their ID until Pan and other m-spec IDs were coined.
5: This is honestly just plain rude. Yes, I’m aware of that. No, I do not think any specific ID can lay claim to a color. This does not mean you can dismiss any of the symbolism of any of said IDs who use it, and accuse them of stealing it, on either side. Which was done frequently in Ace discourse and as a result I am not going to continue that specific point with you using my Identity like that, because not only do Lesbians, bi people, and gay people all use the color purple, so do Asexuals, Nonbinary people, genderfluid people, genderqueer people, intersex people, demisexual people, and many other identities that if I were to list all of them would take up most the rest of this post. The same with any other color. There’s only so many colors upon the spectrum that you can use to create things, it’s not going to be plausible or possible for only one specific ID or one specific group of IDs to lay any sort of claim on those colors.
This is my last response to you, as you honestly dragged me into discourse when it’s been explicitly stated that this blog is not for discourse. I’m allowed to have boundaries about subjects without people using those boundaries to drag me into discourse and accuse me of things I didn’t do.

Also rittz...I am Ace. This entire blog is run by a transmasc nonbinary Panromantic Ace person who is Autistic.
I am perfectly respectful to all lgbt+ Identities. My stating I won’t use the doe/stag/tomcat pride flags, specifically the ones linked above that just blatantly steal the pan, omni, and polysexual pride flags and repurpose them in order to “reclaim” them is not inherently disrespectful to any lgbt+ Identity. In fact, if there are doe/stag/tomcat bi pride flags that don’t use the pan, omni, and polysexual pride flags and just repurpose them in order to “reclaim” them (aka, not made by people who are against pan/omni/polysexual people existing and saying that those things are inherently biphobic and a result of internalized biphobia and that they’re all just different flavors of bi), then I am okay with using those specific flags. What I will not use is however, exactly mentioned in this post, and in my beginning post.
All of which have perfectly explained reasons behind them without completely removing and Identity.
Also, Bi people can’t lay claim to a flag format, just like any other identity. Just like any specific ID can’t lay claim to a color, or a specific shape of any kind, or any specific stripe amount from their flags. As there’s only so many ways you can make a pride flag until it starts cycling back into each other.
Also, I applaud that you were able to actually put your name to your ask rather than keep this to yourself because I shut off anon. Which I will still be keeping off for the forseeable future because I don’t trust people not to send me more discourse related asks accusing me of bigotry that I am not perpetuating. Or disrespect that I am not doing.

Kion is such a favorite character of mine, and dare I say he is a big comfort character for me as well! I also headcanon him as ace, since I am ace myself. But anyways, thank you in advance! :D

Nope. It’s not. What would be is if I explicitly stated I wouldn’t be using a lesbian flag at all, but that’s not what I’m doing. I’m using Maya Kern’s Lesbian flag, or, occasionally, I’ll be using Apersnicketylemon’s lesbian flag. Which actually won first place on a survey about which lesbian flag should be used (source: https://which-lesbian-flag.tumblr.com/post/179220349087/this-was-going-to-be-longer-because-we-originally )
The only flags I won’t be using are those associated with TERFs (the all pink one, lipstick lesbian one, the labrys one, etc.) or the one associated and connotated with exclusionists (which is the sunset lesbian or pink & orange flag).
And this is due to personal choice due to discomfort, or not wanting to platform flag designs associated with bigots. If you do not like that I do not use the flag you would like to use or personally use for yourself, than you can request off of a different blog, but I will not be ignoring my own discomfort in order to use a flag that will make exclusionists feel safe interacting with this blog.
If you use the mlm flag but not, at the very least, the sunset lesbian flag, you are a hypocrite. You're outwardly wlwphobic and it's extremely sad.
There is a such thing as not liking a specific flag. I do not want to associate my blog with the sunset lesbian flag specifically because, as I am an Ace person, many people who use the flag are Ace Exclusionists. It's not wlwphobic to not want to associate with a specific flag due to the many people who have become associated in my mind with it.
I shouldn't need to explain this to you, anon. But the sunset lesbian flag for me specifically due to my identity and the fact that so many who mocked it and belittled my experiences within that discourse used it has made it something that if I see it, I become extremely distressed as it reminds me of all of that discourse, including the rape apologia, harassment, and other awful, horrid things that were done during the course of that "discourse" which I couldn't get out of because it was about an inherent part of myself that I did not control and could not change.
This will be my only post about this. I want to keep this blog discourse free. You are free to dislike that I do not use the sunset lesbian flag, but it does not give you the right to accuse me of being wlwphobic because I won't use it and instead use a different lesbian flag that someone else made, that is not so strongly associated with exclusionists.
