Fanfic writer (yopumpkinhead on AO3) and infosec/privacy nerd (#sanity talks infosec). Multi-fandom blog with a lean toward Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Other things I reblog include FFXV, FFVII, Ace Attorney, Promare, the Murderbot Diaries, Breath of the Wild, Wakfu/Dofus, cute animals, life hacks, Discworld, language geekery, feminism, sociology, writing, Tolkien, and whatever else catches my fancy.
I’m not a classicist, but I suspect one of the reasons so many of the Greek gods are portrayed so unflatteringly was less because they were seen as villains than because they represented their domains. Of course Zeus sometimes misuses his power, that’s what a king does. Of course Artemis’s wrath is wild and painful, that’s what nature can be. Of course Hades snatched away a young girl from her mother’s arms, that’s what death does. This is one of the reasons callout posts for some gods comparing them negatively to ‘nicer’ gods are kind of missing the point.
#okay first i have to preface this with the fact that i already have three multi-chaptered wips in progress#but next on the list that would be counted as ambitious complex and novel length#would probably be the sylvain and bernadetta marriage of convenience#where the blue lions are struggling to keep united fodlan together#and sylvain offers bernadetta a marriage to get her out of inheriting the home she hates and so he can get his dad off his back#they plan to divorce in five years after the marriage fails to have children and bernadetta will get a payout and can fuck off and write#it's a very slow burn romance where they fall in love after marriage#lots of quiet winter nights in gautier and trying to figure out how to keep this new world from falling apart#of course sylvain falls first and is convinced she wouldn't ever return his feelings#pointless rambling#fe3h#fire emblem three houses

What's the fic you would write if you had the energy for it? Ambitious, complex, novel-length—the fanfic you'd make if you could.
My piece for the @fraldariuszine :~)
The first picture is the one found in the book.
In hindsight I regret having added the blue shadows so I'm also posting a version without them.
gen fic appreciation post. i love you gen fic. i love you serious, plot-heavy gen fic. i love you funny, lighthearted gen fic. i love you angsty whump and h/c gen fic. i love you emotionally complex and intimate gen fic. i love you super long chaptered gen fic. i love you oneshot gen fic. i love you strictly canon adherent gen fic. i love you alternate universe gen fic. i love you crossover gen fic. i love you gen fic about queer identity and relationships. i love you found family gen fic. i love you gen fic.
(edited to add: by ‘gen fic’ this post is NOT referring to rating. it is referring to fic that is not about and does not prominently feature romance, regardless of rating.)
I think I found my new favorite rabbit hole. This voice actor does Shakespeare scenes in a southern accent and I need to see the whole damn play. Absolutely beautiful
Felix hater has a right to hate anyone, and i do get it. Felix IS curt. But i wouldn't call him "mean" to anyone except Dimitri. He's short with people, but I don't think that's inherently mean. Especially because as people grow closer to him, he opens up. I think that Felix is the most realistic introvert we've gotten. Less stuttering and afraid (love you, bernie) more with a low social battery
A bit random but this a Fallen London map appreciation post because this piece of art is utterly enchanting. While I’m playing and need to switch locations, half the time I spend a few minutes just staring in wonder. The way everything slots together is amazing, all the details are amazing. The frickin windows of the Royal Beth have their curtains in different positions. All the boards on the windows of the Shuttered Palace are placed differently. The walkways and staircases to the Flit are so well done. Crates are scattered around Wolfstack Docks. Roofs and walls have little imperfections. Some buildings are more dilapidated than others. Every doorway, window, tree, mushroom, awning, stalactite… I cannot imagine how long this took.
Idk, I was just thinking about this and wanted to get my thoughts out somewhere. I’m sure something like this has been said before but I don’t care. Thank You Fallen London for having a gorgeous cityscape.
