Just so you all know...

You can love someone non-romantically.

You can hug someone non-romantically.

You can hold hands non-romantically.

You can kiss someone’s face non-romantically.

You can cuddle someone non-romantically.

You can dance with someone non-romantically.

You can sleep next to someone non-romantically.

You can miss someone non-romantically.

You can say “I love you” non-romantically.

You can sacrifice for someone non-romantically.

You can let someone be the most important person in the world to you, non-romantically.

Of course, you can do all these things romantically too. But you don’t have to. Not everyone has a significant other, and not everyone needs one. But everyone needs love and intimacy.

Being single doesn’t mean you have to be lonely. But if you equate all love with romance, you will be. And even if you do have a significant other, you still need friends too.

Love your friends. Let other people love their friends. Platonic love is real love.
