Cogean Gallery was recently visited by The Kitsap Sun. Here's a screenshot of the interview that offers a sneak peak of the space as well as a brief preview of my new video for the inaugural show opening in just a couple days.
Sharing this interview again as it’s finally archived on my site. In this conversation, Self Love and Other Radical Acts, Emily Pothast and I talk about art, vulnerability, and love.
Sharing a couple interviews I did awhile back, now with working links! This piece by Adam Kendall Woods titled Soft Work touches on my work and process for Vignettes
A really lovely interview with me is up on Siren’s blog, in which i answer some questions about vulnerability, self-portraiture and devotion. Emily Pothast asked some immensely thoughtful questions about art and love that were a pleasure to dive into.
One of my favorite projects this past year is this video made for Womxn’s Rites. I was asked to make a teaser for their website featuring this beautiful line of intimates. It was a project with a quick turnaround, so I made footage of myself in the garments. I am by no means a lingerie model, but these pieces are designed for real bodies. It was an experience that started out feeling a bit daunting, but ended up being very positive, both for my public work and personal body.
You can view the video and get more information on their site. (Video only viewable on desktop). From their site:
‘we are feminists in fashion
using the power of industry
to affect social change
promoting luxury rituals
that honor feminized labor
while funding direct action
to advance womxn’s rites’
My in studio feature is up on Vignettes, it’s a thoughtful interview about my work and process with Adam Boehmer. This is a video still I shot when I was being photographed for the piece.
I’ve been invited to take over the @vignettesgallery Instagram this weekend! I’ll be posting new work made just for the occasion. Follow along, it should be fun!
Good Neighbor Gallery is open by appointment if you didn’t make the opening. A really interesting exhibit, fun to see everybody’s take on “The Town Where Nothing Ever Happens”.
Steven Dolan recently sat with us to talk about our exhibit ‘go on take everything’, and wrote this lovely piece, A Community of Feeling, for Vignettes.
Vignettes is is pleased to announce for their 5 year anniversary 'go on take everything’
Featuring new work by Erin Frost, Leigh Riibe, MKNZ and Sierra Stinson
Thursday, December 10th // 7 - 10 pm
we are empaths, we are lyricists
we are vulnerable, we are transgressive
we remain, we expand
we endure, we devour, we seek pleasure
we are beating hearts
we are here
go on
take everything
Recently I contributed this video to 12 Seconds Max at The Factory, Seattle. This salon style exhibit featured walls of looping short videos and gifs. The piece I exhibited is an excerpt from a longer video I made this summer for Out of Sight, titled ‘That which has been your delight’.
