ELECTION: HOW TO JUDGE A CANDIDATE

An election is a formal mass-choice process in which the people select a person or political party of interest to hold a political position in public office. The president is the highest political position in the office, and the activity of electing the country's next president is recognized as presidential election. Every six years, everyone who is registered to vote in the Philippines can choose and vote for a candidate to become the country's next president. But what are the qualifications for running as a presidential candidate, and how will you know who to vote for?

What characteristics should a person have to be a potential president?

Leadership skills, authenticity, critical thinking, a vision for the country's growth, dependable, responsible, flexible, empathy, competent, and open-mindedness are the qualities a potential president should possess. Especially in these times of pandemic, we must choose someone who is capable and not just a show in the administration. Their ability to take over the position can also be determined by their credentials. We should also consider what they have contributed to the country because it shows their intentions in running for the position.

What are the things we should consider in choosing our president?

The thing you should consider in choosing a president is the courage to serve the country while preserving a person-oriented trait and competence. Furthermore, he/she must show intellectual, professional, and moral perfection to determine whether he/she has the capabilities necessary to fulfill the obligations of a president in our country. That is the main factor you should consider when selecting your president, so vote wisely. It's difficult to find a deserving leader in our country. It is necessary to keep in mind the characteristics that a leader must possess, such as responsibility, honesty, open-heartedness, non-corruptness, patriotism, concern for the people, intelligence, bravery, listening to staff, willingness to cooperate, understanding, and more. In all, accepting suggestions and inaccuracies in the interest of improving his management.

If you are able to vote for the upcoming election, who would it be and why? 

I will choose Leni Robredo. She may not be perfect but she's much better and the most qualified among the potential president of the Philippines. She has proven to be very effective in handling the limited amount/budget that her office is given, to help the country. She accomplished so many things as VP, and If she wins, I believe that she has bigger plans to help Filipinos. She made the most of her time as VP while being ready to fulfill her job description. I believe the best trait that a president should possess is being efficient at choosing the right people for his/her cabinet and to execute the law to the letter. The president should also lead by example, morally, spiritually, and all that. Robredo has an impeccable character. She has no 'scandal" behind her, unlike the others. She can definitely do better than the other candidates, attendance, output and all that. So among them Leni Robredo is the best choice.

To sum it up, a person suitable for the position of president is someone who is a responsible, intelligent, patient, skilled, emphatic, and honest person who has a vision for the country's growth and development. The members of this group think Leni Robredo is fit to be the next president because she fits all the traits mentioned and has multiple achievements and accolades when she was in her Vice President position.
