Everything in writing begins with language. Language begins with listening.
We have two ears and one tongue so that we would listen more and talk less.
You cannot truly listen to anyone and do anything else at the same time.
Most of the successful people I've known are the ones who do more listening than talking.
When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen.
Friends are those rare people who ask how we are, and then wait to hear the answer.
One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.
To say that a person feels listened to means a lot more than just their ideas get heard.
It's a sign of respect. It makes people feel valued.
Part of being successful is about asking questions and listening to the answers.
I only wish I could find an institute that teaches people how to listen.
Business people need to listen at least as much as they need to talk.
Too many people fail to realize that real communication goes in both directions.

The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

Life is an exciting journey but the things we want are rarely, if ever, handed to us on a plate.
We have to work towards them, and we start by taking one single, small step.
The only impossible journey is the one you never begin.
When I feel like procrastinating or making an excuse for not taking a step forward, it reminds me that the step that I’m avoiding or putting off could be the biggest step of my life.
Each failure is another step towards discovery.
Yes, there may be many things I can’t do, but there are also many things I can do!
For self realization you need to take a step, a step backwards.
Only one's brave, bold and fair step can change everything in its favour.
Dont be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You cant cross a chasm in two small jumps.
Don't get locked up into the ultimate goal. Just concentrate on the next step.
Things can change from day to day. We can accomplish great things if we allow ourselves to.
Never give up on your dreams. Keep moving forward with those small steps, even on the most difficult days.

Self preservation is the first law of nature.
Don't be his story. Don't be anyone else's story. Be your own story. Protect yourself.
I have to take care of myself. It's about self-preservation.
I do not need to set myself on fire to keep other people warm.
Self-preservation shouldn't be the first instinct in politics. It should be doing the right thing for the country.
Power focuses on self-preservation; principle focuses on making ideas successful.
As a matter of self-preservation, a man needs good friends or ardent enemies, for the former instruct him and the latter take him to task.
Self-preservation is as important as generosity. Because if you don't preserve yourself, keep enough for
yourself, then of course you have nothing to give.
Truly caring people know they have to take care of themselves first.
Dont feel guilty for doing what's best for you.
Always stand up for yourself. No one in this world is more important than you are.
