[ A dystopian society set on being equal… yet some are more equal than others. The elites are held above all for their powers and abilities yet those like werewolves and vampires are beneath all… maybe its time that changed]
part: 1 2 ...
"Warning, Red alert, we repeat red alert all citizens should stay inside until further notice!", the transmission blared through all the districts, no context was given but no one cared, they followed blindly, ducking into their houses.
"Dad? What's happening?" A small boy squeaked, pulling on his dad’s ripped up sleeves.
"Nothing, just follow me okay?" The man said calmly before starting to bark orders at the group before him. "Hurry! Get the pack out of the clearing! We can't risk anyone's lives!"
The werewolves scrambled, pulling the younger ones out of the clearing. The young boy was paying little attention, however he'd spotted some smartly dressed humans through the trees; being young and curious, he ignored the orders in favor of seeing what was going on. He crept through the trees with ease, this was his home after all. The boy used a bush for cover and watched as a few armed men and women came back through the gates that kept everyone in... and more importantly kept the outcasts out. Up front a man carried a young boy, probably around the age of seven in his arms, the boy was unconscious, filthy and bruised.
"He really packed a punch for such a small kid..." one woman said as they came past.
"You can say that again... never seen anything like it" a man, seemingly younger than the other soldiers replied, "you think it was a fluke or... is he one of those stronger ones?"
"He can't be-"
"Will you two shut up!" Snapped the man holding the boy "our job was simple and this kid messed it up...now I want to get back so they turn these damn sirens off!"
Before the young cub could hear any more he was pulled up from the ground.
"Paul! What are you doing here!? You heard the orders."
"But... dad..." he whined
"No buts boy! Soon you will be leading these lot! And we can't have a rule breaker as a leader... get your act together!"
-present day-
"Yuu! Round up the cubs, will you? And get them to the lake" Paul ordered, running a hand through his matted hair.
"It's not as easy as it looks Paul... but I'll try" with that the blonde male rushed off to get the younger pack members down to the lake. Pau had been up for some time now with the plan to get things in order but then the cubs had rolled around in the mud and started to play fighting in the rain, which meant now they needed to be forced to rinse off. Yuu was right it wasn't an easy task, the cubs were hard to contro. Too young to understand rules; too small and fast to catch. Most had a habit of wiggling loose and climbing around and down people's backs. The leader let out a yawn, stretching out his arms.
"You should sleep..." commented one of the elder members "you work yourself too the bone..." the woman was sweet, she was past her days of hunting and now just watched the cubs.
"I will don't you worry... once the hunters are back and I know they're safe" he sighed "I'll take a break then"
The women sighed, knowing that was the best she could get "well okay Pau..." she turned around the see Yuu getting tackled by three of the pups "oh... dear, get off of him! Get to the lake!
Come on..." They all hopped up, rushing off into the trees.
"Sir!... it was another bad hunt" sighed a rather tall male, he was leading five other werewolves.
Paul was talking to one of the female members having to quickly dismiss her when the hunters came in "What? What happened?"
"We got a few rabbits and a fox, it might be the rain Sir but... I don't know why our hunts keep failing"
Paul rubbed at his temples letting out a long, exaggerated sigh "I'll... figure something out... can you go back out in a few hours?"
"We can try... we will rest and go back out... right men?". The others nodded quickly before dismissing themselves to get some rest, the tall male patted Paul's shoulder and sighed "you should sleep too sir, maybe join us if you can. We could use you in a hunt"
Paul didn't rest... instead he just kept worrying until the second hunt, again it failed, they brought back another fox and two more rabbits. They skinned it, cooked it, well to the best they could with a fire and then shared it out so the pack could sit down to eat, Pau looking dead to the world.
"Pau? Dude... sleep please" Yuu said as he finished off his food, the two had been friends for years now and the blonde male seemed to be able to get to Paul. "You look dead...".
The rest of the pack looked towards him, all as concerned as Yuu. Paul sighed, quietly looking around before standing, discarding what has left if his food in front of the cubs who all scrambled and fought over it.
"Fine... Yuu, you're in charge until I wake up...".
Yuu nodded and waved the other off, everyone going back to there conversations and food. Paul would try and sleep, but he doubted sleep would come.

(1/?)Solar Au: Birthday boy.
{ships in future parts: Pat x Paul, TomTord and cola losers)
[ A dystopian society set on being equal... yet some are more equal than others. The elites are held above all for their powers and abilities yet those like werewolves and vampires are beneath all... maybe its time that changed]
The television flickered to life, as per usual with the mandatory broadcast. At a pristine white desk sat Jane, a little more off to the left than usual to make space for her new co-host and brother, James. They looked unnervingly alike but people had grown used to Jane’s, warm, artificial smiles so they assumed they'd grow to... tolerate James.
Jane cleared her throat and smiled "good morning friends, I hope you are having a wonderful day under the sun"
"Today we come to you with amazing news!" James chipped in "a new Elite will be joining the ranks!"
"Ah yes, the young boy was found today and what a strong kid he is. I'm sure he'll grow up to be perfectly perfect, don't you agree James?"
"I do indeed my darling sister, I do indeed"
There was an awkward pause from James, as though something wasn't loading right before he sat up straight and smiled "anyway! That's it from us!"
"And remember" they both spoke in sync "there is no darkness!"
-11 years later-
"Haaaappy, Birthdaaaay! to you!", cheers erupted as the song finished, the birthday girls blushing and smiling, Patryck just rolled his eyes as he passed their table with his plate in one hand, fiddling to get a grip with his teeth on the peel back lid of the butter pack that he was grasping in his other hand. Today Pat turned 18...but no one would singing him happy birthday. The young man headed for the doors that lead to the small picnic area, most elites preferred to eat inside, especially on rainy days like this but Pat would just sit under one of the umbrellas to eat his fruit tea cake, the rain had never really bothered him all the much.
As he finished up his breakfast the bench next to him creaked as someone sat down next to him, he paid no attention until a small muffin with a candle in it was placed on his plate, he looked up to see James, one of the robots that worked on the broadcast.
"Hello..." he paused "Patryck" the robot smiled.
Pat looked at him slightly confused, luckily James continued to talk.
"My records show that it is your 18th? A whole 11 years since you came here. But you're alone. So I searched your records, carrot cake is your favorite right?"
Patryck chuckled, "that is true" he nodded, finishing the last bite of his breakfast.
James smiled the usual warm yet inhuman grin and pulled out a lighter, setting the candle a light
"Make a wish... friend"
As soon as Pat blew the candle out James stood up "Happy birthday, and remember to stay in the light!" With that he left, leaving Patryck alone in the rain with a muffin...
"Good afternoon friends!" Jane's voice came over the radio.
"Yes! Good afternoon!" James' voice followed "today seems to be a damp day... but the sun still shines behind the clouds so stay perfect friends!" At this point, the broadcasts were just odd reminders followed by random happy babble and news from the host. Pat was on the roof of his apartment tending to his roses
"the rain is good for you... stop wilting" as if by magic the red petals seemed to perk up
"ah... see that's the spirit!" He smiled. The young man had always had a way with plants... and anything related to the ground and dirt, he could move foundations if he so wishes, and if he really needed to do so. His powers were stubborn, only working to their full power when needed and the last time he'd needed that was exactly 11 years ago. Pulling his hair back in too a ponytail he looked around the roof garden, flicking his bangs from his eyes
"Hm... all seems fine up here" he took a running start, jumping through a gap in the plants and off the roof, landing with a thud on his balcony, such a thing should have at least jarred someone's ankle but Pat took no impact, as if he'd just hopped off a step at the bottom of a staircase. The flowers on the balcony bloomed and turned in the direction of the male, their colors more vibrant in his presence. He let out a content huff and nodded before heading to the small table with a single seat, putting the umbrella up and sitting
"I should start to work..." he said to himself, he did this often. The flowers closest to him turn away causing Pat to chuckle and shake his head
"oh don't be like that... I've paid enough attention to you today have I not? Besides... I'll work out here if that's better?" The flowers turned back to there original position and he took that as a yes.
"Humph, that is what I thought...".
"I hope you all had a happy and perfect day" came the voice of Jane from the radio on the kitchen counter, for once Patryck had remembered to bring it in.
"Ah yes but now we must go,  please remember your curfew elites" James carried on.
"And stay perfect, good night" Jane finished before the radio clicked back to slow dull tones of the music Pat was too busy to change. He sat at the kitchen table, his hair now out of the ponytail and falling around his ears, he still wore the white, grass-stained shirt that had been matched with his white jeans but now the trousers were discarded as he just sat in his boxers, writing away, this... unlike other things in his life had to be perfect, for the sake of everyone outside of the elites. Tomorrow morning he'd be in front of the elders pleading the case he'd worked so hard on and if all worked out he'd unknowingly be on the road to what his mother never managed.
