i keep seeing people say how dolores not saying anything about bruno is a plot hole. i don’t quite understand it because i feel if you think about it, it’s really easily explained.
bruno has just left, the rest of the family is upset & angry about it, and little 11 year old dolores knows he’s still around because she can hear him, right?
so, of course, she brings it up to everyone! aaaand immediately gets shut down. “we don’t talk about him” “don’t mention his name” “stop bringing him up” the family simply DOES NOT want to hear it. that wound is too fresh. so dolores stops bringing it up. even she can see how much everyone is hurting (& im sure she is as well). and she doesn’t bring it up again until years later when maribel is trying to get more information on dear brunito.
