In a world where Sidious and Plagueis are Maul’s dads and they take their son on regular walks through the upper levels of Coruscant. They orchestrate assassinations to take place in buildings across the way so they can teach Maul how to identify killing technique from afar. Maul has yet to learn how to be subtle about noticing things, but come on he’s five. Learning process.

Scary Will Solace things you probably haven't thought about
- Will Solace was the most accomplished battle medic during the Battle of Manhattan. His primary talent is medicine, which, as far as we know, is unique among his siblings, who tend toward music or archery. That said… Will Solace has seen a lot of people die. Painfully.
- Camp Half Blood went from forty (minus Ares cabin) campers at the beginning of the Battle of Manhattan to sixteen able-bodied campers by the end. Will Solace is 13 years old and the new head counselor of Apollo cabin, because everyone older or more experienced than him is dead.
- Being almost singularly responsible for keeping all your friends alive during and after a war is traumatizing, probably. PTSD is a given, particularly since the collective ability of the rest of camp to support Will’s medical efforts dropped as the body count climbed. The Battle of Manhattan lasted 2-3 days.
- Paolo lost both of his arms at some point. In real life, a double arm transplant takes nearly 13 hours and 16 surgeons to complete successfully. Will Solace replaced Paolo’s arms by himself. This probably isn’t the first time he’s replaced someone’s limbs. Or handled intestines. He also reattached Paolo’s sawed off leg.
- First year medical students go to a class called gross anatomy, which involves dissecting cadavers to become familiar with human anatomy. Magic or no magic, you know who else probably had to do this?
- Sometimes you have to re-break bones to set them correctly.
- Reminder that Will probably reserves nectar and ambrosia for people who are actively dying. So him resetting bones is totally a manual thing.
- Will Solace is a year round camper (he’s there in peacetime during January, and with Annabeth during the school-year search for Percy). Either his mother, singer Naomi Solace, is dead, or she doesn’t want to take care of him. We don’t know why.
- Will Solace and Nico Di Angelo let Octavian commit suicide. “Murder by consensus.”
- Post Battle of Camp Half-blood, Will Solace was working in the infirmary for 48 straight hours.
- Will Solace diagnoses people by touching them. He can tell if you have cancer. He can tell if you are having a silent heart attack or are being destroyed internally by parasites. When you die, he can feel your life leaching out of your body. He can feel the darkness in your hands.

Honestly I kinda wished we could get a version where crosshair and mayday make it. Like they successfully flee together and scanavge through the galaxy for a little time with Crosshair not being ready to go back to his brothers just yet and then the Batch run into Crosshair and Mayday by accident while being yet again backup for Phee or something and the scene goes basically like
The batch:😶 ...
Crosshair:😶 ...
Mayday :😃... look other clones who are on the run just like us
And Hunter is ready to equally through hands and hug crosshair and them all being a bit suspicious why Crosshair not only hangs around a Reg but also genuinely likes him
Tech be like: crosshair has made a friend? That never happened before

WHY MAYDAY IS A MIRROR OF REX (AND ALL OF CROSSHAIR’S BROTHERS)
AKA How Crosshair predicted his own redemption arc.
There have been many comparisons made between Mayday and Rex/The Bad Batch, but I have kept myself from ranting about The Outpost for too long and I figured I should get this out there before this week’s new episode hits.
Crosshair is cynical and snarky when we meet him in The Clone Wars (as is the norm for his personality, but there’s a special edge to it in S7 E1). The first words out of his mouth are “we don’t usually work with regs.”
Tumblr media
(I am not sure who first posted this image set, so if you know who to credit please reach out).
Now in TBB E12, the episode opens with Crosshair watching regular clones being told about the retirement bill by an imperial officer. His helmet is off and they have no armor on. He’s face to face with them. He seems interested in their conversation but is still removed, separate. He still thinks this doesn't affect him.
Once he ships out to Barton 4, we meet Mayday by hearing his voice before he rounds the corner into our view. The immediate thought that flew into my mind was, “that’s Rex’s voice.” Other than Rex himself, we as the audience and especially Crosshair as a character have not heard that warm, snarky, calm tone that signifies that commanding officer’s “regular clone voice” much this season. Mayday’s voice is a little deeper than Rex’s, but he has the same commanding yet casual tone and demeanor. As weary and frustrated as he is at the lack of support from the Empire, Mayday chooses to express it with a level of snarkiness that would have made Tech, Echo, or Rex himself proud.
Tumblr media
Or as Rex once said, "It's Captain, sir."
Tumblr media
"Experience outranks everything."
Mayday and his squad are wrapped in mummified cloth strips, and he states that his men are all “dead. We’re all that’s left.” Three of them, to mimic the three troopers being forced into retirement that Crosshair had seen before arriving. They are dead men walking. And so are the rest of the clones.
Mayday brings the light to Crosshair. And starts talking to him, man to man, like a friend. Like a brother. He asks him his name. Crosshair’s first encounters with Rex were Rex going after Echo, pulling him free from mindless programming and reminding him what his name really was.
“What brought you here.” “Just lucky, I guess.” Luck isn’t a word that Crosshair typically uses to describe his experiences. He usually relies on and points out his superiority, his skills, his uniqueness. He knows he hasn’t engineered this meeting, and yet Mayday’s mannerisms are already starting to find the chinks in his metaphorical armor.
“I’ll give you the lay of the land.” Like Hunter would. “Conditions have degraded our equipment.” Like Tech could have helped with. “I’m not an explosives expert.” Wrecker is.
Tumblr media
Mayday lays out the helmets of his fallen squad in a memorial, the same way Rex and Ahsoka do after order 66. Reverence and respect for the dead, even when it seems meaningless. Crosshair has let himself be deadened by the Empire, yet Mayday treats him with interest and respect, drawing him back out of himself. Mayday even shows the same respect for the raider who had been attacking his base, saying that he was bothered that his men had left him there to die.
Tumblr media
Crosshair is still throwing up his shields, like he did at the end of season 1 when he tried to convince his brothers to join him. “We’re not like the regs, we never have been. We’re superior.”
Tumblr media
And all of a sudden, Crosshair will die if Mayday doesn’t save him. If he doesn’t fully trust him to disarm the pressure mine he has gotten himself into. He has continued to choose to step in places that are a pressure mine waiting to go off, waiting to swallow him whole. And until now he has made enemies of anyone who has tried to help him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mayday saves his life, and now they’re working as a team, silently and in unison. They realize that all this effort and loss of life has been for mere equipment (that’s for their replacements, no less). Their lives really are worth even less than the epithet "used equipment" that Nolan spits in Crosshair’s face when they first meet.
Hunter had tried to tell him on Kamino: “Can’t you see they’re using you? We’re loyal to each other, not some empire.”
Crosshair: “YOU weren’t loyal to me. I was one of you. You may have forgotten, but I haven’t. I’m going to give you what you never gave me–a chance.” Only now, after Mayday gave him that chance, is he willing to admit that Hunter was right.
Tumblr media
How many times have those words haunted Crosshair’s thoughts?
Tumblr media
Now this was interesting to me. Crosshair incidentally causes an avalanche by targeting a group of explosives in order to end their shootout, cracks fissuring up the mountainside. Once before he was maneuvered into a situation not of his own free will (when his chip is enhanced on Kamino), yet he stubbornly pursued that scenario when he chose to stay on the platform at the end of season 1. Once again, he is put into a situation against his will by being brought to Barton 4, but this time, he ends up creating a scenario where his choices from this moment will now have the opposite effect.
Mayday shoves Crosshair out of the way, saving his life once again. A pile of snow rips Crosshair’s helmet off of his face, and as Mayday is buried, Crosshair re-emerges his true self.
“We have to move.” Rex’s words throughout almost all of their Clone Wars arc. Rex is selfless, telling Echo to go with the Batch if that was the best place for him. Letting Echo leave him behind, essentially. Mayday begs Crosshair to leave him behind and save himself. They both want what’s best for others. And their examples rub off on the men they save. Echo constantly does what he can to help his brothers escape the Empire. Crosshair’s sheer stubbornness that up until now has kept him tethered to the Empire, refuses to leave Mayday behind. He can’t watch another brother die in front of him. Not anymore.
"You're still their brother, Crosshair. You're my brother too." Omega's plea to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Crosshair risks his life to carry Mayday back. A REG. He refuses to let go of him the whole journey. He lets him use his sniper rifle as a crutch. All of his defenses are finally down, and he not only cares, but is willing to show he cares, BEGS ON HIS KNEES to his commanding officer for help, to show that he DOES CARE.
Finally, this struck me. We almost never see Crosshair using a hand blaster. He’s a sniper. Yet both in his encounter with his brothers on Kamino in season 1, and his confrontation with Nolan here, Crosshair picks up a regular blaster. He’s not being the sniper, distant and removed, making a kill from afar with his own rifle. This is up close, personal, a messy choice. With a hand blaster, a regular clone’s weapon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crosshair’s conversation with Hunter on Kamino reads back as though he is pleading with himself to not make the same mistake twice, to stop running from his fears, to finally embrace who he is–a clone. To embrace his real purpose–protecting his brothers.  He’s made his choice. He doesn’t expect to survive. The vultures are circling both of them. In season 1 Hunter stuns him and he falls to his knees and then to the floor, passing out. Here, he snarls “Lieutenant,” in a sarcastic tribute to how Mayday had first addressed Nolan, and becomes an Angel of Death. He avenges Mayday and redeems himself, and once again falls forward and passes out with the last of his strength gone.

Soo in your Star Wars fix it au, if the 501st are the identical uncles and padme’s decoys are the identical aunts, does that make the 212 the identical grunkles?
LMAO YES however the 212 interact with the twins at their convenience, instead of as much as possible like the 501st (they had enough of one skywalker during the war)

So rewatching the prequels and I noticed something
In the second movie when Obi wan jokes about Anakin being the death of him. Anakin says that he sees Obi wan as a FATHER figure “the closest thing i have ever had to a father”
BUT
Multiple times we have seen Obi wan say that Anakin is like a BROTHER to him. (In the movies and shows)
- which makes sense when you think about how young he was when to took on Anakin as a Padawan. He wan’t even sure if he was ready to be a knight let alone raise a 9 year old
While Obi wan and Anakin had an amazing and close relationship in both the movies and in clone wars. They also often had these like moments of frustration with each other that they never really talk about and definitely make it easier for Palpatine to make Anakin doubt Obi wan/their relationship.
With this information of Anakin looking at Obi wan as a father figure and Obi wan viewing himself more as a teacher/older brother it is easy to guess that it was probably frustrating, especially Anakin, if they did not realize they viewed the nature of their relationship differently.
A teacher pushes you and guide you to improve, but there isnt the emotional connection that a parent child or sibling relationship would have
An older sibling jokes with you and at you, dose fun things with you, gives you advice… and while closer than a teacher still not like a child and there parent
A parent teach their child, but they are mainly supposed to guid their child to adult hood. Helping them to understand who they are, what they are feeling and how the world work around them. They are who you go to with the really random questions. And most importantly they are supposed to be the one person you can always count on to be in your corner, who will tell you that you did a good job, that they are proud of you.
Especially with Palpatines manipulation influencing him (stepping in to overly lavish Anakin in praise while also feeding his insecurities) Anakins comments about Obi wan being overly critical make sense.
Similar to Anakins frustration with Obi wans “blind faith” in the Jedi code and refusal to disagree with the council. When anakin struggles to follow the code and has a rocky relationship with the council.
Anakin’s expectation of the relationship are different from Obi wan’s.

Aziraphale was about to confess too before Metatron and his coffee came into the bookshop;
Okay, hear me out. In 2x02, when they’re talking about “how people fall in love”, Crowley talks about sudden rainstorms,
Tumblr media
which is an obvious reference to how he fell in love, about 6000 years earlier (poor demon thinks everyone falls in love the way he did)
Tumblr media
Aziraphale doesn’t get it and answers “seems a bit unlikely”. He didn’t connect the dots, he doesn’t think Crowley loves him that way. All he knows about falling in love is what he read in books. Of course he fell in love with Crowley too, but I’m pretty sure he did in ‘41 when Crowley saved his books from a bomb, and that’s a bit hard to recreate, so… balls.
Tumblr media
That’s his idea, you make two people dance together and they magically fall in love, which is so in-character I want to scream. Now let’s get to 2x05. We know Aziraphale always tried to avoid organizing those meetings, but he’s suddenly so excited about it he is WILLING TO GIVE AWAY HIS BOOKS. Why would he do something like that? There’s no way it’s actually to make Maggie and Nina fall in love. At that point, Muriel doesn’t even care anymore about it, they all know the truth about the miracle is about to be revealed, so there’s no point in being so persistent about Maggie and Nina’s relationship. He’s an angel; of course he cares about humans being happy, but I don’t think he cares so much about two semi-strangers’ love life that he’s willing to give away BOOKS for the off chance that the Jane Austen method will actually work on two humans he knows nothing about. So, my conclusion is, he’s organizing that night for him and Crowley. They are the ones that he hopes realize they’re deeply in love with each other, and that is something worth giving away books for. Which explains why he’s so excited but also a bit scared when he asks Crowley to dance with him.
Tumblr media
It explains why he ignores the fact that Crowley is trying to tell him that something important and dangerous is about to happen, just so they can have a little dance. It also explains this reaction when he sees Gabriel and Beelzebub being in love with each other
Tumblr media
and the way he looks at Crowley while they’re talking about them.
Tumblr media
I mean, I know he always stares lovingly at him, but not like that, right? That’s a face that screams “I’m so going to tell you I love you when all this is over”.
So, my point is:
Fuck Metatron.
That’s my point.

the emotional damage this post has caused me
Today it's time for me to be heartbroken about Crowley and HIS version of events, because of course HIS version makes sense to him too.
The thing about Crowley is, he acts so nonchalant about everything.
Tumblr media
Like, at first, he's simply just a demon. Sauntered vaguely downward and such, it's barely even really a thing, honestly -- it's just sort of his job title, y'know? Aziraphale's in one department, he's in another, that's just how it is. Like satanists, right?
But then the more the story progresses, the more we get the sense that there's something deeper than that. It becomes especially apparent with his plants, and how he puts the fear of God (then corrected by the narrator: the fear of Crowley) in them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And these scenes, as many of you well know, have been theorized to be Crowley working through the circumstances of his fall. Projecting his emotions onto the plants, inflicting on them what was done to him. Processing what it was like to be on the other side of the curtain, maybe -- possibly try to figure out what could drive a creator to harm their own creations.
The details of the fall and what Crowley did, exactly, are unclear. The details of what Crowley knows about his own fall are unclear, because evidence could suggest that maybe he doesn't remember. But his perception seems to be that it didn't take much to be a demon.
Tumblr media
What he does know, is that nothing lasts forever -- not even the grace of God.
But Aziraphale is different.
Tumblr media
Aziraphale is an angel with very black-and-white ideas of what it means to be an angel, and what it means to be a demon.
But Crowley sees through it. From giving away the sword alone, he sees the cracks in Aziraphale's rigid thinking that allows the light to shine through. And he chips and he chips at that thinking -- he asks the kind of questions that probably made him fall in the first place -- until finally we get here.
Tumblr media
God saw Crowley at his most innocent. God saw Crowley at his most joyful state of being. God saw him at his holiest.
God heard his questions, likely knowing that Crowley was expressing love in the way that he would want to receive it. Crowley says, "Well, if I was the one running it all, I would like it if someone asked questions. Fresh point of view."
God knew all of this, and then cast him out anyway. Unforgivable, that's what he is. Not to be forgiven, ever. Not to be loved -- not by God.
Then here comes along this angel (who he may or may not remember). This angel knows he's a demon, and talks to him anyway. This angel knows he's a demon, and listens to what he has to say. This angel knows he's a demon, and still looks him in the eye, sees the good in him, and forcefully tells him that HE still sees the good in him, even when God refuses to.
Aziraphale sees everything in Crowley that God could not, and that is something Crowley thought was lost forever.
Tumblr media
So it only makes sense that when Aziraphale first burst in with his words all aflutter at the idea that they were going to go back to Heaven and change everything, Crowley felt this was something they couldn't do. Because he understands better than anyone, Heaven has the power to change the angel, the angel does not have the power to change Heaven.
It makes sense that Crowley gave him a chance. Crowley didn't exactly erupt with rage at Aziraphale. Yes, he was loudly against the idea and very disappointed, but then he goes, "Oh. Oh God. Right. Okay. I didn't get a chance to say what I was going to say, I better say it now."
He still thinks there's a chance. He's still giving Aziraphale a chance to back out.
He gives Aziraphale multiple chances. And every time Aziraphale will not back down. Every time, he thinks he hears the same message. The one he's always heard, the one he should know by now but somehow still hopes it isn't true.
Tumblr media
Nothing lasts forever.
Not the universal star machine.
Not the grace of God.
Not the bookshop.
Not my acceptance of who you are.
Not us.
He doesn't hear the way Aziraphale remembers his joy and wants him to be happy. He doesn't hear how Aziraphale wants him and needs him and begs for him to be on his side. He doesn't hear the hope and the desire to be safe and together and in control -- forever.
He doesn't hear the way Aziraphale is lying to himself because we all know damn well he would live in a state of comfortable happiness if he could.
Instead, he hears this.
Tumblr media
He hears that he is in need of forgiveness. He hears that he has done something to warrant it.
Only, he is unforgivable. Nothing lasts forever, but maybe that part does. Out of everything that never lasted, the one that did is that he is unforgivable the way that he is.
"Don't bother," he says.
Don't bother, because he doesn't hear Aziraphale, he hears God.
Don't bother, because maybe God was right.
