PLEASE REBLOG!!!
Marcos and Duterte hasn't even won yet and THIS is already happening
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The votes are still being counted. There are protests happening because PPCRV (Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting) volunteers in Intramuros are BEING HARRASED BY THE MILITARY AND POLICE. UP STUDENT ATHLETES ARE BEING THREATENED AND TRAUMA BY THE POLICE. They are sabotaging the lights and surrounding the innocents.
COMELEC wants to stop the PPCRV Manual Counting because it's obvious Leni and Kiko are leading. Some are even destroying ballots that voted for Leni and Kiko, and some are shading Marcos. Please help us spread awareness of what's happening.

Saving this here since the thread got deleted. Our democracy was poisoned by mass disinformation and historical revisionism by paid troll farms using the data from Cambridge Analytica.

I know that I don't really have a big following here on tumblr but I refuse to be silent about this anywhere.
To anyone who's wondering, "What's happening in the Philippines?" here it is:
We in the Philippines held our elections yesterday, and they are being rigged.
We are at risk of the son of a dictator taking the presidency seat, which endangers our economy, livelihoods, education, safety, and privacy. Every dirty trick in the book happened this election/campaign season - from fake news to broken voting machines and so much more.
The reason why he's in the lead is the result of years upon years of mis- and disinformation and deceit. We cannot afford the Marcoses to take presidency again, not after all the taxpayer money they squandered and the people they had imprisoned, tortured, and killed.
To my fellow Filipinos, continue to fight the good fight. We can't give up now. Di pa tapos ang laban. Kapit lang tayo.

i only ever use tumblr to talk about silly things and maybe reblog stuff dedicated to my interests, but i feel like switching up my feed, and just saying what’s on my mind completely unfiltered.
this is going to be quite a long post as i’m trying to sun up some of the shit that this country has gone through the past 6 years, so get ready because we aren’t!
to those already reading this, most of you know that i’m filipino. to those who don’t, well, now you know lmao. my country is going through so much shit right now. thought i know my description of the philippines is quite negative as of late, it has been hell on earth with all the extrajudicial killings, war on drugs, a continuous plummet in our economy, increasing climate problems–you name it: we’re suffering. terribly.
after 6 years under the reign of terror of another shit corrupt president (ahem ahem duterte), we were finally given the opportunity to turn things around and vote for someone that genuinely cares about our country and making sure real changes happen.
but no, the elections were rigged, and the son of a former dictator is in power. the son of the same man that has robbed our country of billions upon billions of pesos.
it’s disgusting, disappointing, and i feel betrayed. and i’m sure many others feel the same.
our ancestors did not fight tooth and nail for their freedom only for the worst people in power to keep taking it away from us over and over and over again. i’m sure they’re just as disappointed. whatever “resiliency” the people keep labelling us for sometimes doesn’t even feel like resiliency. it’s straight up a cry for help. we’re desperate.
but no matter how hopeless all of this may seem, even if it feels like this country is a lost cause, i have not given up on it. going to rallies, meeting people, all that stuff has opened my eyes to a whole new world of hope that i haven’t yet seen, and all of it has inspired me to keep speaking my truth, and standing for what i believe is right.
i’m just a kid, about to be a senior high student, and i want to secure that bright future i keep fantasizing about. not just for me, but to those that will walk on this country later on.
i know that my following isn’t big, and it’d be a miracle if i even had a following at all. but for now these are my thoughts and if you somehow read through all of that, thank you. really. let’s stand for each other even if we’re on different parts of the world, and to my fellow filipinos: tumindig lang tayo. hindi pa tapos ang laban.

THE MARCOS FAMILY SHOULD NOT RETURN TO POWER.
THIS IS AN INSULT TO THE VICTIMS OF MARTIAL LAW. THEY BLATANTLY SPREAD FAKES NEWS TO REVISE OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY. THEY HAVE NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED OR FACED THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CRIMES COMMITTED DURING THEIR REGIME.
THIS IS ALSO AN INSULT TO OUR COUNTRY AND OUR COUNTRY'S FUTURE. HE HAS NO PLANS FOR THE COUNTRY ASIDE FROM "UNITY". THE MARCOS FAMILY ARE ONLY DOING THIS FOR POWER AND SELFISH REASONS.
NEVER AGAIN. NEVER FORGET.

WE ALL HAVE POWER; WE ARE NOT JUST A “CITIZEN” LAHAT TAYO AY MAY KAPANGYARIHAN; HINDI LANG TAYO ISANG “MAMAMAYAN”
By: J
We will not have a state without citizens; we select who premier and defend our society. As a citizen, we have our rights to vote in political elections and that is our power, they cannot acquire power without seeking for our power first. Power does not require wealth, education, fame, religion, culture, et al. it is pertinent for all, there is no limitations to power. Our ability to reinvent what our past has given to us, especially in our country, lies in our power for selecting the appropriate person for our state.
Philippines has the most revolting politics and democracy, with a system called as “patronage-based democracy”, in which government civil servants or economic advantages are given to citizens. Since the Philippines' independence in 1946, this patronage system has mainly impacted the country's politics. Marcos' administration was a textbook example of patronage democracy, with political cleavages founded on allegiance to the Marcos family. Political authority is based on providing economic rewards and momentary pleasure to its supporters. Nonetheless, we are awestruck by their money, celebrity, and family history; some say “anak yan ni-, botohin natin kung magulang niya nga magaling siya pa kaya,” and for some reason, some of us support them while knowing they are unworthy for our society due to the patronage system, and this type of political viewpoint should not be with us.
During Joseph Estrada's (1998-2001) presidency, there was a succession of corruption scandals and a bungled impeachment effort known as the People's Power II. Filipinos protested for 88 hours against Estrada's corruption and were replaced by his Vice President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (2001-2010). Gloria Macapagal's government is comparable to Estrada's, but she cemented her political authority through economic awards and momentary pleasure to its supporters. Due to our socioeconomic inequality, many Filipinos are underprivileged, and these opportunists are using the main characters of our country, which are the unemployed, indigenous, poor, homeless, et al., to protect and secure their political power with patronage using distributions of economic benefits or government civil service, and the exploitation of our country's citizens did not stop.
In this day and age, our political ideas should change, especially now that the election season is upon us, we must evaluate how our decisions will affect us and our state. We have been through a lot, particularly during and after Duterte's presidency; let this experience guide us to power; vote wisely. We've gone through a lot, especially during and after Duterte's presidency; let this knowledge lead our power to vote sensibly, not for the sake of being needy.
