The Donnas covering The Beatles’ Drive My Car. I like how the Beatles are known for their soaring melodies and use of production tunes, but many of their songs work really well in stripped down punky version too. (More and more I really enjoy Rubber Soul and Revolver, too. Great time for experimentation but not going off the deep end)

Normally not a fan of breezy covers like this as they tend to be easy: play fast and sing sweetly. But I think she nails it here. The song actually works like this and her playing and singing style are just on!
The outro is awesome too!

For a song that gets covered a lot, this one made some bold moves. Fun and funny!

I thought I recognized this song from Tom Petty: https://amzn.to/3lZxm0o
I remember taking a road-trip down south and actually touching the Georgia pavement, then my girlfriend at the time and saying she was hotter than Georgia asphalt.

Nice cover of a classic Townes Van Zandt tune

To Live is to Fly musically and lyrically just fits with this tune by the amazingly talented Leylla Mcalla, Allison Russell, Rhiannon Giddens and Amythyst Kiah.

It’s rare that a slow, sincere cover of a pop song really, really works. I mean, it’s often fun and you discover little things you missed (c.f. Schitt’s Creek’s Simply the Best, right?) but this is one of the few where you wonder which is the original-Ms. Delmhorst’s cover or The Cars?

On the other hand, LOVE this video. I remember it from the days of MTV (when MTV was MTV).

Kina Grannis has a rather lovely voice and there’s no way to overdo this lovely Paul Simon song! The more sincerely and con gusto you sing it, the more it shines! It’s like a diamond....
