"Really?" She asks curiously, sitting down next to the child so they're eye to eye. "Why don't you tell me some of these ideas? Maybe I can help."

“Sort of like a door, yeah,” she nods. “Kind of a magic science-y door.” She lets them pet her, purring softly. “Nah, he doesn’t have fur like I do. His hair is kinda soft, though.”
Doc nods, and reaches their other hand up to touch their own hair. Kinda soft, but not quite as soft as her fur. “I do a lot of science-y things,” they say, “Or… well, I have a lot of ideas, anyway. But I don’t think I have the materials I’d need to actually do a lot of them.”

At first, Doc isn’t sure what to make of the person… animal? Being. Standing before him. Nothing like anything they’ve ever seen, certainly piquing their interest.
Well, first thing’s first, they had some questions to ask.
“Are you a cat?” they ask, looking the being up and down. “My Mama told me about animals, but we don’t really see them around here. I heard there’s still a lot of time to go before they really start living here.” They pause, then breathe in a gasp. “Are you a time-traveling cat?”
