If you are working with gods and goddesses or even spirits, learning more about them and their alignments can open you up for more thorough understanding of your belief system, and find ways to be more inclusive. Are only goddesses nurturing? Are only gods protective? Are there beings who do not identify as either, already present in the history?

Trans/GNC folks manifest joy & mourning simultaneously, thus our rage must look & act differently. The Imprecatory prayer is one that calls for the destruction of enemies. We used the visual / textual imagery of joy & possibility to affirm the needs of the Trans community.

Tomorrow begins the 9-day ritual to honor our beloved transcestors and ancxtors.
The Transgender Rite of Ancestor Elevation: FAQ
What is it?
a nine-day, non-denominational ritual honoring transgender individuals who have passed on
an act of solidarity with the lineage of transgender ancestors who have come before us and paved the way, as well as with the descendents who will come after us when we are gone
a chance to share tenderness and kindness with the restless spirits of transgender people who lost their lives to violence

a labor of love from a multiracial group of trans spirit workers, each at various stages of study in ancestor veneration practices, who have been putting on this ritual since 2014

The Divine Spiraling Rainbow Tribe is a Circle within the CAYA Pagan Congregation devoted to exploring and honoring sacred mxgender Mysteries. Our Priestxes embody the experience of identity beyond the gender binary, and celebrate the glittering prism of Divine existence that is Powerful, Delightful, Enthusiastic, Playful, Transformative, Magickal, Compassionate, and Reverent. We invite people of all genders or none, but especially mxgender and non-binary people, to join us in our first year of doing a public, world-wide working to bring a better world into being. By performing this ritual in our own spaces all over the world each Full Moon, we grid the Earth with the energy of the Divine, toward a shared vision of intentional change.

Banned Books Week always gives me some great ideas about what to put on my reading list. The Top 10 in 2016 are overwhelmingly LGBTQ+ in subjects. Thank a librarian today for fighting in the name of intellectual freedom!
