my utopia has disability in it. my utopia includes free healthcare and no-questions welfare and state-funded carers. my utopia includes building requirements that centre disabled bodies — ramps and lifts and dimmer switches and braille signs. my utopia has disability in it. because without disability, it’s not much of a utopia at all

people are being institutionalized for taking covid seriously, while simultaneously cases have never been this high this far out from the holidays and more and more evidence comes out all the time that repeated covid infections cause long term damage and long covid, which can easily destroy your life, is common and becomes more common with each infection.
I am so scared of having to go to the hospital as someone with complex health problems.

yes this includes people who “mooch off” their parents by still living with them into adulthood. you are not an ally to disabled or poor people if you hold disdain for those who cannot live on their own.
if your class solidarity doesn’t include people who are on SSI, food stamps, or are unable to work it’s not solidarity

disabled people don’t have places to sit/rest in public >> disability activists advocate for public seating >> on rare occasion it gets approved >> abled people take advantage and use up all the seating >> abled people refuse to give up seating for disabled people who advocated for it & need it most >> disabled people still have no place to rest and remain isolated from general public. rinse & repeat

Y'all will reblog the most heinous, hateful ableist shit, like. And the way some of you all crave a violent revolution at the expense of physically disabled people, you mfers make me sick. Please! You know no disabled person is going "revolution is ableist bc I can't participate", you know we're talking about the absolute fucking disdain and hatred you have for people who cannot do physical shit. Disability is not a punishment but by God I hope you get sick and I hope you have to watch "allies" gleefully await your violent death at the hands of fascists. Fucking pigs.

hi not to post about something serious but it’s really weird how many ppl I see posting about Covid on here take a stance of moral superiority about having never had Covid in 2024.
Cannot count how many tumblr tags and TikTok comments I see along the lines of “I haven’t had Covid yet and I don’t understand why people think that’s so hard.”
Saw one tag that said “at this point getting Covid is a personal problem lol”
Cannot stress enough that even those of us who have been wearing N95s and isolating for four years and still got it because we don’t have the same luxuries of safety as you do or perhaps we just got unlucky. Access to quality masks is a privilege. Being able to choose how and when you will expose yourself to high risk settings is a privilege.
Applying morality to health is, as always, across the board loser behavior rooted in the same eugenic mindset people use to dismiss the neglect and deaths of disabled people, I.e. “if you’re sick and/or disabled it must be your own fault.”
Shut up!!!
