I've seen a few trans women and afab enbies lately have a rejection of feminism with this air of obviousness, as if it's a silly thing to think that they might be. And that's very understandable but also a massive problem, because friends the work is never done and it's certainly not done right now.

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

That's exceptionally evil, award winningly evil. To not just refuse to pass a law protecting workers but instead to pass one that says you cannot make such laws, that's special.

Two million people in Florida, from construction to agriculture, work outside in often humid, blazing heat. For years, many of them have asked for rules to protect them from heat: paid rest breaks, water, and access to shade when temperatures soar. After years of negotiations, such rules were on the agenda in Miami-Dade County, home to an estimated 300,000 outdoor workers. But the new law, signed Thursday evening, blocks such protections from being implemented in cities and counties across the state.

One of the best things I ever did was take kids off a pedestal when I decided I was never going to have them. This led to some regretful years of anger towards children and the very concept of raising them, because the world was so weird and awful about choosing not to.

But slowly, inevitably, this led to the realisation that children are not some alien class, nor rhetorical devices, they are fellow travellers. Fellow travellers who tend to be a little louder and more difficult to deal with than I'd like because I have sensory issues and they're early in their journey, but people deserving of consideration and respect nevertheless. It's just generally at a distance, for me, personally.
